Spotlight Match: Channing Thomas vs Jordan Kross
This is the pure definition of a “tryout match”. Channing and Jordan work a solid five minute contest, face on face. I’m not sure what a “punk rock prince” is but it didn’t seem to come up during the match. After a lot of back and forth, Channing twists the kid into a Boston crab and gets the tap. Workman-like match but it was clear Kross was having trouble connecting with the crowd.
Match 1: Flyin’ Ryan O’Neill vs Aaron Rourke
What an awesome step up in competition for O’Neill! Ryan is flipping and flying but Rourke shows that he has plenty of tricks in his bag. O’Neill clearly has something to prove and keeps taking it to Rourke. The Dimepiece still working face but definitely in the role of the vet showing this kid he has much to learn. A high angle swanton nearly puts Rourke away but Aaron shoves off a Superplex attempt and hits a Molly go round for the three! Rourke offers his hand in respect as the crowd chants for both these guys. Fun match and an excellent showing for O’Neill!
Match 2: Oxx Adams (w/ BRG) vs ???
BRG is an annoying loudmouth and is “sad” that Brando Lee is hurt this week. But Oxx is gonna kill someone anyways.
Match 2: Oxx Adams (w/ BRG) vs Erik Chacha
Welp. Chacha does what he can. He tries to take out the knees of Adams. He’s throwing punches when Oxx picks him up. But Oxx is f***ing huge and Chacha is NOT. He pops Erik up and catches him in a Samoan drop. And then he gets the three with a one foot pin. Murder.
BRG calls out Tyree Taylor. Oxx is the giant of Wrestling Open and tells Taylor to show up next week. That could be a lot of fun.
Match 3: Jada Stone vs Laynie Luck
Jada is very small but does a wicked moonsault during her entrance for this match against the WWEID Women’s Champ. This is a blast. Jada showing off all her athleticism as she flips and twists Luck all of this ring. As a debut, this is magnificent. Luck is in true danger multiple times, fighting to kick out and keep her arm attached. She hits her shining wizard but Stine kicks out! The crowd is way into this. Stone staying ahead of Laynie through the finishing sequences but finally gets caught in an AA and Luck gets the three. Worcester knows they saw something special and gives Stone the ol’ “Please Come Back”.
Match 4: Bobby Casale vs Sammy Diaz (w/ Brother Greatness)
Bobby gives me a death stare every time he sees me at ringside. It’s wonderful. He’s hear to fight Sammy, and can clearly toss Diaz around with ease. This is a long beatdown but Sammy rallies back. Big moonsault for two! Sammy going for the kill but Bobby keeps putting a sleeper hold so Sammy runs the buckles and flips over into a pin for the three! Casale is shocked!
Greatness on the mic! He has some words for Christian Darling. That dweeb is going to experience some RIGHTEOUS JUDGEMENT!
Match 5: Ichiban vs Samantha Holloway
Ichiban has another mountain to conquer. It didn’t go so well last time, can he bounce back? Sam is getting razzed by the crowd and even by Ichiban himself. A LOUD cracking chop reminds everyone that he is a threat. Ichiban gets ragdolled and huge booted and uranaged almost through the mat but keeps kicking out. Ichiban finally stuns Holloway. A 111, a flying chop and a basement tornado spike aren’t enough. Holloway cant beat Ichiban! Ichiban finally hits a slingshot Ichi Bankai and a frog splash that finally puts the big man down! This was a lot of fun.
Match 6: The Residency (RJ Rude & Nick Robles) vs Big Busness (Love Doug & TJ Crawford w/ Big Bacon Brad Hollister)
Big Business has their way with Robles early. It’s going well until Doug gets flanked by RJ with a slingshot stunner. Doug eats the beat down until TJ gets the hot tag. It’s going well, but again the number is game is getting played. TJ eats a bomb right into RJ’s knees. RJ goes for a moonsault. TJ super kicks him out of the air. Doug tags in and a tandem power bomb puts Rude down for the three.
Bacon on the mic. He says this is what they needed to get on the same page. Crawford grabs the mic. He says that if it was him and Doug, Big Business would be tag champs this week. Bacon says that Crawford has failed as a leader in Big Business and it’s time for Bacon to take back over. Doug tries to calm them down. He says he doesn’t care what happened last week. He suggests…what if he tags with NEITHER of them. Doug joined Big Business for TJ. If they need to get back to business, then TJ and Bacon need to team up and get in the same page. Maybe. Maybe.
Match 7: Brittnie Brooks vs Gabby Forza
Gabby has to fight Krule in a little over a week. Krule is basically 4 Brittnie Brooks in a trench coat so this is good practice. Brooks is shocked at Gabby’s strength early but works some leverage and reversal strikes to stay competitive. Brooks hits a crossbody but Gabby rolls through and chucks her across the ring. Brooks escapes an Oklahoma stampede to hit a short ddt for two. Gabby back up and hits the spear for the three. Good stuff and Brittnie was game for a fight.
Rain Conway is out here to mock Pedro Dones for the beating he took last week at the hands of 23 Hazard. He mocks the damage Pedro’s son took and mocks his status of a father. Pedro comes out. Time for murder.
Match 8: Rain Conway vs Pedro Dones
Pedro murders Conway and quickly drops him with a running headbutt for the three
Pedro on the mic. He begged Wrestling Open to lift 23 Hazard’s suspension so the can fight next week. Dones promises to “F****ING KILL” Hazard for what he did to his family. Delightful.
Main Event: Miracle Generation (Dustin Waller & Kylon King) vs Bustah & the Brain (Alec Price & Jordan Oliver)
One is a genius, the other’s insane. Miracle Generation may not be ready for what they called down by asking for this match. Oliver tries to keep a VERY fired up Price in check. Waller tries to mock Oliver but ends up losing his durag. Waller has NO waves! Price gets caught up in the MG corner for a beating. Waller even puts on a golden durag. Kylon sent flying over the buckles finally and Price tags Oliver back in! Kylon with a great somersault back into a German! Dustin with a dive over the post to the floor! Oliver eats a 450! Kickout! “It’s time to show you what wrestling Open is all about” says Waller as they try to hit the double knees to head. Price breaks it up! Rebound lariat to King! Double Vertical facebuster to King but Waller breaks up the pin! Crowd is fired up for this! Dusty and Jordan trading chops! Trading superkicks! Jordan hits a running Spanish fly! Kylon takes out Price on the apron? Price avoids the kyledriver and hits an air raid crash on the apron! Oliver gets the tag! Huge dropkick to Waller! Dive to the floor! Double knees to Waller! Kylon shakes B&B off the top rope! Waller hits the lethal injection. Double drive by knees to Oliver and Kylon stacks him up for the three after a HOTLY CONTESTED 16 minute match. The crowd is mad but this was GOOD S***.
