DREW MCINTYRE MAKES FIRST TITLE DEFENSE AND MORE: 1/10 WWE IN GLASGOW, SCOTLAND RESULTS

By Gordon Campbell on 2026-01-10 18:33:00

WWE ventured here to Glasgow, Scotland.

Jey Uso vs. Finn Bálor

Jey Uso opened the night with momentum, securing a hard-fought victory over Finn Bálor. The match was fast-paced and competitive, but Uso’s resilience and explosive offense ultimately proved too much for the former Universal Champion.

AJ Styles & Dragon Lee vs. The New Day

AJ Styles and Dragon Lee showcased impressive chemistry as a team, overcoming the veteran duo of Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston. Despite The New Day’s experience and tandem offense, Styles and Lee closed the match decisively to earn the win.

Alexa Bliss vs. Kairi Sane
Alexa Bliss picked up a key singles victory against Kairi Sane in a match that highlighted contrasting styles. Sane’s speed and striking were met by Bliss’s calculated offense, allowing Bliss to put the match away and continue her strong run.

The Wyatt Sicks vs. MFT

The Wyatt Sicks, Dexter Lumis, Erick Rowan, Joe Gacy, and Uncle Howdy, dominated their clash with MFT (JC Mateo, Talla Tonga, Tama Tonga, and Tonga Loa). The match descended into chaos, but the eerie unity and brutality of The Wyatt Sicks overwhelmed their opponents for a decisive win.

WWE Champion Drew McIntyre vs. Shinsuke Nakamura
Drew McIntyre successfully defended the Undisputed WWE Championship against Shinsuke Nakamura in a physical, hard-hitting contest. Nakamura pushed the champion to his limits, but McIntyre’s power and endurance carried him through to retain the title.

After the match, McIntyre reflected on a journey defined by resilience, frustration, and unshakable belief. After winning the title twice in the past, he took pride in helping give fans an escape during some of the most frightening times in recent history. Still, the promise to reclaim the championship remained unfulfilled for years, marked by setbacks, controversy, and constant disappointment. Despite being “screwed over,” he never stopped believing in himself, crediting that relentless mindset to what he jokingly called his Scottish stubbornness.

That perseverance paid off in storybook fashion. The night before, he captured the WWE Championship once again, and fate could not have scripted it better. For the first time, he walked out in front of a live audience as the number one wrestler in the world, and he did it in Glasgow. Standing before his home crowd, he fulfilled the promise that had driven him for years, completing an emotional and hard-earned redemption.

Liv Morgan vs. Lyra Valkyria

Liv Morgan continued her momentum with a victory over Lyra Valkyria. Valkyria showed flashes of brilliance, but Morgan’s experience and timing allowed her to control the closing moments of the match.

Gunther vs. Sami Zayn

Gunther reinforced his dominance with a commanding win over Sami Zayn. Zayn’s heart and determination were on full display, but Gunther’s relentless offense and precision ultimately shut the door on any comeback.

WWE World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk vs. Bronson Reed

In the main event, CM Punk retained the WWE World Heavyweight Championship against the powerful Bronson Reed. Reed’s size and strength posed a serious threat, but Punk’s ring IQ and resilience carried him through a grueling battle to close the night as champion.
