AEW will present World's End this Saturday on PPV, HBO Max, and Prime Video from Hoffman Estates, Illinois with an 8:00 PM Eastern start time for the PPV, and the Zero Hour starts at 7:00 PM. Here is what we think will happen.
AEW Men's World Championship Match: Samoa Joe vs Adam Page vs Swerve Strickland vs MJF
Mike: They didn't bring back MJF to have him lose his first bout back. I suspect MJF is taking the title.
Cory: At first, I thought Joe would be a transitional champion, but since they have built up The Opps as a strong heel faction, it feels like Joe is going to be a longer term champion for the babyfaces to chase. Then we got Swerve coming back early and looking jacked, so I felt HE was going to get the title for a long run. Then they added MJF to the mix as he comes back from making a movie, so I felt HE was going to get the title. However, on this weeks’ show, he was pretty much beat down by Swerve and Page easily, which cut his leg out from under him. With all of that, I am settling on Joe keeping the title and MJF acting as spoiler.
Richard: I will start off by getting on my logic soap box and wonder why did MJF get involved in this match when it was already a Triple Threat (did he not watch what Hernandez did in TNA?) I wonder if we will see a title change in this match, but with it being a multi-man match, it becomes a chance for the Opps Army to get involved. Page and Swerve might neutralize each other in the match, but I don't think MJF will be the one taking the pin or tapping out. I would like to see Joe retain, but his reign might end on Saturday night. If he loses, I think Swerve wins the title.
AEW Women's World Championship Match: Kris Statlander vs Jamie Hayter
Mike: I do not see a title change here.
Cory: This will be a fantastic match, but Statlander still feels like a new champion, and they need to keep the belt on her for a while to cement her as a top tier talent. My other issue is that Jamie Hayter is such a cypher. All we know about her is that she is a good wrestler and has an accent. What drives her? WHY does she want the title? What is her motivation and personal story? Until they give her a personality, I can’t see her being anything other than “tough babyface wrestler” and not a champion. Statlander retains.
Richard: It is weird to see a title match that does not include Mercedes Mone. This should be a good match. I hope there is no interference because these two need to be able to showcase their talents and show why they belong on top of the women's division going into 2026. Hayter will come close to winning the title, but Statlander will get the victory.
AEW Men's Tag Team Championship Match: FTR vs Bang Bang Gang in a Chicago Street Fight
Mike: Way too early for FTR to lose the title.
Cory: I agree with Richard, FTR just got the title and there’s no way they should drop it yet. I expect this to be filled with violence, lots of great wrestling and the Bang Bang Gang getting beat. They need to get built up as a major force, so it will be a hard fought try so that they are a force when Jay White returns to lead them.
Richard: FTR recently won the titles so I don't think it is time for them to lose it. Since it is a street fight, it allows for things to break down and let the referee stand around and watch things. It would be interesting to see Jay White make an appearance and try to help out his team. It will not be enough because Stokely has something hidden up his sleeve to help FTR retain.
AEW Women's Tag Team Championship: Babes of Wrath vs Mercedes Mone and Athena
Mike: This should be an excellent match. I expect the Babes to retain.
Cory: Babes of Wrath JUST won the title, and Harley has been out doing publicity for AEW at local channels when they come to town. Her and Willow are fantastic spokespeople for AEW and can really bring in new eyes with their blend of talent and appeal to all sorts of different groups. They have also been teasing contact that Mone and Athena do not quite get along, so their loss would bring Athena in to go after the TBS title. The Babes keep Wrathing as champions.
Richard: Mone has been losing titles in recent weeks so does this mean she gets one back on Saturday? Willow and Harley have a choreographed entrance dance so they deserve their titles. Mone and Athena will come close, but the champs will retain the titles and then dance and high kick to the locker room.
Continental Classic Semi Final Match: Kazuchika Okada vs Konosuke Takeshita
Mike: Takeshita has been undefeated, so I am going with Okada winning.
Cory: So, does Okada beat the IWGP Champion or does Takeshita beat the best tournament wrestler of all time. Either way, I think this will be the match of the night. Takeshita won’t let Okada slack, Okada knows they have put the rocket on him, and they both have huge expectations to live up to. Both are going to be at WrestleKingdom as well, and early this year, I was sure this would be the main event of that show. I am going to predict Takeshita winning as they are subtly hinting he is about the turn on the Don Callis Family, so after beating Okada, can be the catalyst the move this story to the next step.
Richard: The main event and semi-main event of Wrestle Kingdom next weekend face off in another match where we will get to hear from Don Callis. That also means we will get to hear him in the other two matches in the Continental Classic because he is guaranteed to have someone in the finals. This should be a good match. I would have Takeshita win this match, but what is going to happen on the 4th means nothing for AEW. The King of Tournaments wins and will move on to the finals.
Continental Classic Semi Final Match: Jon Moxley vs Kyle Fletcher
Mike: The right calll is for Kyle to get the win here.
Cory: Moxley has been on a “giving back” tour since losing the title, and this is the one time his losing can push someone they want to carry the company to the next level. I expect this match will be better than Moxley detractors expect and Kyle beats him clean to move on.
Richard: Will this be a Callis celebration or does Moxley throw a monkey wrench to mess up the plans? If the plan is to rip the Death Riders apart, Mox should win and then lose in the finals. Can't wait to see that NOW Center hallway.
Continental Classic Finals: Winner of Semi Final One vs Winner of Semi Final Two
Mike: It should be Fletcher's to win.
Cory: I am predicting Fletcher vs Takeshita, and there is a case to be made for both of them to win, since this title is more of a trophy than a title that is carried and defended. Does Takeshita lose before defending the IWGP title at WrestleKingdom? I don’t think so. Takeshita wins the tournament, which is another reason for Takeshita to break fromt he Don Callis Family.
Richard: I think it will be Moxley and Okada in the finals. Okada will win because he wins tournament. After so many recent losses, Moxley will be attacked by the Sulky Brothers and then he will be choked out by Marina.
Darby Allin vs Gabe Kidd
Mike: Darby.
Cory: Darby is the guy who gets beat down and comes back. Gabe Kidd is a guy who is here once in a while. Darby gets revenge for being thrown down the stairs and takes the win.
Richard: A match that seems to be established to make sure that Darby is on the show, despite his 'physical condition' (for storyline purposes). With the way that Darby had trouble standing up on Thursday, this should be an easy win for Gabe However, this is AEW where Darby Allin could be drawn and quartered, but he would still kick out at two. If they are trying to make Gabe an important member of the Sulky Brothers, he needs a win.
Death Riders vs Conglomeration and Toni Storm in a Mixed Nuts Mayhem Match
Mike: Should be The Conglomeration and Toni.
Cory: I don’t see the Death Riders getting the win on this one, as we want to see the Conglomeration andToni Storm celebrate. Will this be where they finally do something with Roderick Strong not wanting to be in the Conglomeration rather than just keeping him on neutral like he has been since that group formed?
Richard: This will be the usual multi-person match where the referee loses control of everything and people do whatever they want. If Marina applies her finisher on Toni, will Toni like it too much? After his win on Thursday, will Roddy be the one to get the win for his team? The ConglomerStorm will win so they can do the Peanuts dance after they win.
Zero Hour Match: Sisters of Sin vs Hyan and Maya World
Mike: I'd like to see World and Hyan get the win.
Cory: Hyan and Maya World are not getting the win here. I do like that they are getting to move up from the “Already in the ring” ranks after stepping in at the last minute to be good hands at a TV taping. They showed themselves to be ready to help out with no notice and didn’t let their ego get in the way of the chance, so good for them. It’s not time for them to beat the Sisters of Sin, however.
Richard: I guess this is the reason why Hyan and Maya got a match with a commercial break on TV this week. I wonder if they pull the trigger on a win for Hyan and Maya since Julia and Skye have fallen out of the women's tag title picture.
Zero Hour match: Eddie Kingston vs. Zack Gibson
Mike: Kingston.
Cory: A feud started and mostly contained on Ring of Honor that seems like it was just put together to give Eddie a match on the show. I’m fine with that, as I love watching Eddie and it’s going to be a win over the odds since there WILL be outside interference.
