12/22 WWE RAW REPORT: AN AUDITION . . . IN THEORY, GUNTHER CONTINUES HIS WAR OF NO WORDS WITH THE FANS, TROUBLE IN THE JUDGMENT DAY (AGAIN??), AND MORE

Your announcers are Michael Cole and Corey Graves.

We take a look back at the mystery of the masked man and the reveal of it being Austin Theory.

Paul Heyman tells Bronson Reed and Bron Breakker to get warm because he has it.

Paul walks over to Austin Theory and wants to know what the hell he is doing.

Theory says he wanted Paul to know why he was wearing the mask. He wanted everyone to feel his actions before they saw his face. He says he made some bad decisions. He got comfortable and he got injured. He saw your group. You don’t wait, you take. Theory says he takes. He says he would love to take the opportunity to help out in their match tonight.

Paul says interesting, very interesting and then he walks away.

We take a look at what happened last week with Rhea Ripley, Iyo Sky, Asuka, and Kairi Sane.

Rhea and Iyo are in the back and Rhea says she cannot protect Iyo against Kairi and Asuka so she asks her to stay in the back. She tells Iyo to stay safe and she hugs Iyo.

Match Number One: Rhea Ripley versus Asuka

Rhea with a drop kick and punches but the referee pulls Rhea out of the corner. Rhea with a few biels to Asuka. Asuka misses a kick and Rhea with a take down and punches. Rhea ith punches and a head butt. Asuka escapes RipTide and goes to the floor. Rhea sends Asuka into the ringside barrier. They return to the ring and Kairi distracts Rhea long enough to allow Asuka to hit a drop kick. Rhea is sent into the ringside barrier.

We go to commercial.

We are back and Asuka chokes Rhea in the ropes. Asuka with a knee into the corner. Rhea escapes a bulldog but Asuka connects with a pop up knee for a near fall. Asuka with Kawada kicks and a back heel kick. Rhea with a punch and back fist. Rhea with a punch and face buster. Rhea with a back slide for a near fall. Rhea with a back elbow and Kairi trips Rhea when the referee was distracted. Asuka with a baseball slide.

Asuka with kicks to the chest. Rhea blocks a kick and she punches Asuka. Rhea with short arm clothesline followed by a back heel kick and a face plant. Rhea with a running thrust kick for a near fall. Rhea goes for RipTide again but Asuka with an arm drag for a near fall. Asuka with a series of strikes to Rhea but Rhea with a round kick.

We go to commercial.

We are back and Rhea and Asuka exchange forearms. Rhea blocks a kick and she takes Asuka to the mat and applies the Prism Lock. Asuka counters into an ankle lock and a leg trap German suplex and kick for a near fall. Asuka goes for the Asuka lock but Rhea with a snap mare. Rhea with a boot to Asuka in the corner. Asuka stops Rhea on the turnbuckles. Asuka sets for a superplex but Rhea escapes and she puts Asuka’s head against the turnbuckle and she follows with a thrust kick. Rhea with a face plant from an electric chair for a near fall.

Rhea sets for a Razor’s Edge but Asuka escapes and counters with a sunset flip for a near fall. Rhea misses a boot in the ropes and Asuka puts her on the apron. Rhea catches Asuka on a flying hip and Asuka hits a German suplex on the apron. Asuka goes up top and is met with a thrust kick. Rhea with a knee to send Asuka to the floor. Rhea with a cannonball off the apron to Asuka. Rhea goes up top and Asuka distracts the referee. Sane drops Rhea on the turnbuckles.

Iyo come out and takes care of Sane. Sane with a leg sweep to Iyo on the apron. Rhea checks on Iyo and Asuka with a rollup for the three count.

Winner: Asuka

After the match, Rhea checks on Iyo after what happened when she came to the ring to help Rhea during the match.

Bronson and Bron talk and Paul shows up. They want to know what is going on.

Paul mentions Theory. Paul asks who were they 18 months ago? Now you are main eventing Australia and beating Roman Reigns. Where were you? You called your shot and took out Seth Rollins and you are main eventing the Raw anniversary show on Netflix.

Paul says someone had a vision for you and Paul says he is selective. He says he has a vision for Austin Theory. Austin and Reed will face CM Punk and Rey Mysterio. Either he carries out that vision or you carry Austin Theory’s ass out of WWE.

Reed says he has this and Bron says he has Reed’s back.

Maxxine Dupri walks in the back as we go to commercial.

We are back with a look at how the crowd treated a man who did what he said he would do.

Becky Lynch makes her way to the ring.

Becky says there is no way this will be a celebration for Maxxine. She is not the legitimate champion. There was a corrupt referee and illegal interference so she is the real Intercontinental Champion. She says she knows everyone is upset at this corruption. She says she knows some powerful people who will if Pearce does nothing. She has the best attorneys. She says she went to the biggest of wigs at Netflix and they told her to go to Michigan.

Becky complains about the lack of rapids in the city and then she says she was told she needs to take matters into her own hands.

Maxxine Dupri interrupts and makes her way to the ring.

Maxxine says we have all heard Becky. She admits that Sports Illustrated was right and you are the best of all time. Dupri says she is a rookie. She says the rookie beat the greatest of all time. Maxxine mentions that she has won three times. Maxxine says Becky can have her chance to get the title back and she can have it any place and any time.

Maxxine says she will train to make sure that she is still the champion. Maxxine says she wants Becky to admit that Maxxine is her champion. She tells Becky to take it on the chin and admit it but at this time, you don’t look like the greatest of all time. You look like your best years are behind you.

Becky slaps Maxxine and punches her on the mat. Becky takes the mat and then she punches Maxxine in the back of the head.

Maxxine gets up and she puts Becky in the ankle lock. Since there is no match, Becky does the obligatory tap out. And even there is no match, Maxxine releases the hold.

We take a look at what happened last week with Nikki Bella.

Je’Von Evans is with Adam Pearce and Pearce wishes him luck in his match against Rayo and then he says he would like to talk to Evans after the match about his future.

Evans leaves and Vaquer shows up to talk to Pearce.

Pearce asks Stephanie how can they resolve things with her, Nikki and Raquel.

Stephanie says she wants them both.

Pearce says the match can happen next week on Raw.

We go to commercial.

We go to comments from the Usos.

They say they are back in the tag division. Last week, they beat the New Day. Next week, they will do what they do against AJ Styles and Dragon Lee. You have the titles and the target on your back. They say they are the greatest team of all time.

Match Number Two: Je’Von Evans versus Rayo Americano

They lock up and Rayo with a side head lock and a shoulder tackle but Evans with a shoulder tackle of his own. Evans with a drop kick. Evans with a side head lock and Rayo with a back elbow and he struts. Rayo with a wrist lock and a knee drop to the arm. Rayo with a chop in the corner. Rayo with an arm bar. Evans with a kick and a slingshot head scissors take down. Rayo hangs in the ropes and he back drops Evans to the floor. Rayo misses a pescado when Evans moves. Evans with a plancha.

We go to commercial.

We are back and Evans with a kick from the apron and Rayo with an arm drag off the turnbuckles. Rayo with a kick and forearms. Rayo with a half nelson and chin bar. Evans and Rayo exchange punches. Evans with the advantage and Rayo with a punch. Evans with a flying boot. Evans with a Superman punch and a kick. Evans with a suplex and Evans goes tot he apron for a springboard forearm for a near fall.

Grande gets on the apron and Bravo and Rayo drop Evans on the top rope when Evans goes for a springboard move. Rayo with a Michinoku Driver for a near fall. Rayo with kicks to the head. Rayo slaps Evans and Evans with a thrust kick. Rayo with a series of kicks. Evans with a rebound round kick for a near fall. Evans goes for a springboard cutter but Rayo with a forearm. Rayo misses a moonsault and lands on his feet. Evans with a double jump cutter for the three count.

Winner: Je’Von Evans

After the match, Grande and Bravo go after Evans but Evans is able to avoid any contact and he goes to the floor to escape.

Cathy Kelley is with AJ Styles and Dragon Lee. She asks them about their title match next week against the Usos.

AJ says they beat Judgment Day and they were considered the best. Lee says they beat the War Raiders and New Day. Lee says they will bring fire. AJ says as long as they have the titles, they are better than the best and that is what they will get next week.

We go to commercial.

We are back with Bron Breakker talking about how now that he has the real CM Punk back, he went to the ring and he cut him in half. He says he took the title from him and held it high. It was everything he thought. It was easy. You think they have a personal vendetta when he threw out lines about his wife. You don’t care about your wife or anyone else.

Bron says he will make it about him. Will it be the watered down 2025 version of CM Punk or the Best in the World? Either way, the results will be the same. Bron says he is inevitable. He is the mountain you cannot climb or the dog you cannot outrun. Bron says he hopes Punk saved all his money because after January 5th, you won’t be worth a dollar to anyone.

Nikki Bella interrupts Corey and Cole talking about Austin Theory.

Nikki says she has something to say.

She says everyone has forgotten who she is. She says she is a legend and a hall of famer. She says she is a former champion. This is what champions look like. How would you know what champions look like? You root for the Lions. The Lions wish they could be as good as the Eagles. What about Ohio State? You are all looking at THE star of this division. There is a reason why she is back.

She destroyed Raquel Rodriguez’ face last week and next week she will destroy Stephanie’s title reign. Stephanie is a big deal in the ring, but Nikki is a big deal everywhere. The title should be around the waist of a true global super star. That is her.

Match Number Three: Bayley versus Roxanne Perez

They lock up and Perez backs Bayley into the ropes and she pushes Bayley on the break. She pushes Bayley again but Bayley with a belly-to-belly suplex for a near fall. Perez goes to the floor to talk to Liv. Perez avoids Bayley on the floor. Bayley ‘catches’ Perez on a suicide dive and she goes for a driver on the floor but Perez escapes and she clips Bayley.. Perez with kicks to the hamstring. Bayley with a hot shot onto the turnbuckles. Perez wrings Bayley’s leg into the ring post a few times.

We go to commercial.

We are back and Perez wraps the leg in the ropes. Perez with a running uppercut into the corner followed by a side Russian leg sweep. Perez with a step over toe hold. Bayley with a drop toe hold to escape. Perez has a back heel kick blocked and Bayley with a knee. Bayley with clotheslines and a Thesz Press followed by punches.

Raquel Rodriguez shows up at ringside. Bayley gets Perez on her shoulders and hits a satellite side slam. Lyra kicks Raquel and Liv sends Lyra over the announce table.

Perez with La Mistica and a handspring knee drop to the back of the neck for a near fall. Bayley kicks Perez away and into the turnbuckles. Bayley with a sunset flip buckle bomb for a near fall. Liv trips Bayley and she gets on the apron and tries to get into the ring for no apparent reason. Perez removes the turnbuckle pad and Bayley is sent into the pad. Perez covers Bayley but Raquel distracts the referee. Perez yells at Raquel and Liv. Lyra with a cross body to Liv and Raquel. Bayley with a Saito suplex on Perez. Lyra slaps Bayley and tries to motivate her.

Bayley goes full Festus and rages out. She punches Perez and sends her into the turnbuckles with more punches. Bayley with a double knee strike in the corner. Bayley with an elbow drop off the turnbuckles for the three count.

Winner: Bayley

Cole and Corey mention the title matches announced for January 5th.

Bronson Reed is in LOCKER ROOM and Austin Theory shows up and asks what is the plan. Reed says this is the big leagues so follow his lead.

Theory says he is not Reed’s ‘kid’ and he will start the match and you can follows his lead.

Gunther walks in the back.

We are back and The Judgment Day are in the back arguing in their area.

Roxanne blames Raquel for what happened and Raquel yells at them for not helping her last week with Nikki. Liv says they are just trying to help and they are a family and that is what a family does.

Roxanne wants to know what everyone is doing.

Raquel says she doesn’t need this. She has a title match to get ready for and she leaves.

Gunther makes his way to the ring.

Gunther says you shouldn’t be mad at him. You should be mad at the guy who tapped out like a little bitch.

Gunther prepares to leave the ring and CM Punk’s music plays.

Punk makes his way to the ring with a purpose.

Punk gets in Gunther’s face and we have a stare down.

Gunther smiles and laughs before he leaves the ring.

Gunther passes Rey Mysterio, who is coming to the ring because his match is next.

They share some words and Gunther chortles heartily as he goes to the back.

We go to commercial.

We are back and Gunther walks in the back and he is so happy.

He walks up to AJ Styles.

AJ asks if he doesn’t know when to shut up and Gunther says apparently he does not.

Next week on Raw, Stephanie Vaquer defends the Women’s Title against Nikki Bella and Raquel Rodriguez. AJ Styles and Dragon Lee defend the tag titles against the Usos.

Match Number Four: CM Punk and Rey Mysterio versus Austin Theory and Bronson Reed

Theory and Rey start things off. Theory with punches and clotheslines to Rey after Irish whips. Theory with a back breaker for a near fall. Rey with a kick and Punk tags in. Punk with a forearm to the back and then Rey and Punk with punches and kicks to Theory in the corner. Punk with an Irish whip and Theory with an elbow out of the corner. Theory with elbows. Punk goes for Go 2 Sleep but Theory escapes and he goes to the apron and hits a slingshot rolling drop kick.

We go to commercial.

We are back and Reed has tagged in and he head butts Punk and then Irish whips Punk sternum first into the turnbuckles. Reed with an elbow drop and Theory tags in. Theory with a boot to Punk’s chest and he stomps on the hand. Theory with an elbow to the top of the head and he applies a reverse chin lock. Theory with a side head lock and take down. Theory with a clothesline and he has some words for Rey. Reed tags in and he connects with an elbow drop and a snap mare. Reed works on the neck.

Reed with a head butt and punches. Reed with a back senton for a near fall. Reed with a reverse chin lock. Reed with a forearm and kick to the chest. Reed stands on Punk’s back. Reed with a head butt. Punk with weak punches but Reed with a slam. Reed misses a back senton when Punk moves.

Rey tags in and he knock Theory off the apron. Rey with forearms to Reed but he stands on is feet. Reed catches Rey off the ropes and gets Rey on his shoulders. Rey with a sunset flip and Reed tries to block it with a seated splash but Rey moves. Rey with a seated splash for a near fall. Reed pushes rey into the corner and Reed misses a splash. Theory tags in and Rey with a head scissors take down. Rey with a seated senton off the apron to Theory.

We go to commercial.

We are back and Theory chokes Rye in the ropes. We see Reed hit Rey from behind during the commercial break. Theory chokes Rey in the ropes and Reed kicks Rey. Theory with a catapult into the bottom rope and Rey falls to the floor. Theory sends Rey into the announce table and back into the ring. Theory with a boot to Rey. Reed tags in and he punches Rey in the midsection. Reed with an accordion slam and Reed with a splash for a near fall. Reed goes for a delayed vertical suplex and he hits it. Theory tags in and he kicks Rey.

Theory kicks Rey and punches him. Rey with an enzuigiri and both are down. Theory stops Rey from making the tag and Theory with a suplex and he gets a near fall. Theory goes for a slam but Rey escapes and he hits a bulldog. Punk tags in and he punches Theory and hits a leg lariat. Punk with a running knee into the corner and a second one. Punk with a bulldog to Theory and he signals for Go 2 Sleep. Theory with elbows to escape and Reed tags in. Punk with clotheslines to Reed but he does not move Reed. Reed sends Punk into the corner and Punk with a boot. Punk goes up top and hits a flying clothesline. Punk gets a near fall. Rey with a head scissors to Reed and sends him into the ropes. Theory tags in and he clotheslines Rey when Rey goes for the 619. Theory knocks Punk off the apron. Rey sends Theory into the ropes and he this a 619 and a slingshot splash but Reed breaks up the cover.

Reed with an elbow on the floor to Rey. Punk sends Reed into the announce table with a suicide dive and they go over the ringside barrier.

Rey with a kick to Theory and he goes up top. Theory hits the ropes to crotch Rey and he hits a Curb Stomp for the three count.

Winners: Bronson Reed and Austin Theory

After the match, Punk goes after Theory but he gets out of the ring.

Bron Breakker tries to ambush Punk but Punk stops him. Theory goes after Punk but Punk clotheslines Theory over the top rope. Punk turns around and is met with a spear.
