Memphis Wrestling returned to the traditional home of professional wrestling in Grind City this afternoon, WMC TV.
Dustin Starr and Maria welcomed everyone to the Memphis Wrestlecenter. Their set was decorated with garland and Christmas trees.
They ran down the lineup and went to the ring.
Christmas Presents Match: Main Event Bradley vs. CJ Blaine vs. Chris Lexx vs. Vashan Harvey vs. Major Curtis vs. Eli Knox vs. CJ Money vs. Shawn Aries vs. Peyton Presley
Each competitor grabbed a wrapped gift from under a Christmas Tree. Whatever they unwrap, they can use in the match.
Blaine had nun-chuks. Lexx ended up with a crutch. Harvey grabbed what was obviously a sledgehammer. Curtis got a steel chair. Knox unwrapped a Singapore Cane. No one got a Red Ryder BB Gun? Everyone battled in the ring with the weapons. Money ended up with underwear. Aries had a toy vaccuum. Presley ended up with a brick. Everyone battled as they went to commercial. When they returned, Money gifted Bradley a roll of toilet paper. Aries was hit with a crutch. Curtis hit a flip dive to the floor. Everyone battled. Lexx and Harvey battled back and forth with chops and suplexes. Blaine hit a knee strike. Blaine went to the top but was knocked to the floor by Harvey, wiping out a bunch of people underneath. Harvey nailed a DDT and scored the pin on Lexx.
Your winner, Vashan Harvey!
Dustin Starr introduced WWE and Memphis legend Jerry Lawler, who came out in Christmas garb. Lawler wished everyone Merry Christmas and said he had a guest he wanted to bring out. Out came King Cobra and Derrick King. Cobra welcomed Lawler to the Wrestlecenter. They then brought out Shane Russell, Lance Russell's son. He wished everyone Merry Christmas. Finally, they brought out Santa Claus. Marko Stunt came out dressed as an elf with Santa. Starr asked Santa if they were on the Nice list and he confirmed they were. Starr said they wanted to wish everyone a Merry Christmas, but through the front door came Memphis Heritage Champion Sycho Simon. He cut a promo saying the master of Memphis Wrestling controls Christmas and he's shutting it down forever.
After a commercial, Dustin and Maria talked about how special it was to have Jerry Lawler back on Channel 5.
The Hollywood Clique vs. The Modern Day Monsters
They battled back and forth for a few minutes before Slaughterhouse came out and brawled with everyone as they were held apart. The Clique ran off. Really just an angle.
They aired a Christmas song about the Memphis Wrestlecenter fans, wishing them Merry Christmas.
Season's Beatings Match: J. Webb vs. Makari Kandy
There are no rules.
The story is that Webb had a friendship with Kandy but he kept getting involved in her business until she cut him off, then he basically stalked her. Kandy came out dressed in black. Webb slammed her but acted like he was upset with himself for what he did. The Shocker and Wonder Boy, worried about Kandy, came out concerned. The crowd chanted for Kandy, who pulled it together and got her her knees. She dared Webb to come get her, but when he approached, she low blowed him. Kandy kicked him and drilled him down to the mat and pinned Kandy.
Your winner, Makari Kandy!
They plugged their next taping. NWA Champion Thrillbilly Silas Young and Tommy Rich are working that date, 1/4/26. Su Yung is returning on the 1/18/26 taping.
Derrick King joined the announcers for the main event. The story was King was there to see what happened with Sycho Simon, who ended his career last year. They talked up Ray Sanders as being the hero Memphis needed.
Memphis Heritage Champion Sycho Simon vs. Ray Sanders
The announcers talked up all the heinous things Simon has done in recent months. Sanders had a huge contingent of family members in the crowd.
Sander attacked Simon before the bell with the title belt. Simon went to the floor, where Sanders drilled him with a chair. He came off the ropes but was smashed. Simon went to piledrive him on a chair, but changed his mind and decided to do it on the floor. King Cobra came out and told Simon not to do it, then punched Simon. Sanders nailed a hurancanrana off the apron to the floor. The crowd popped for Cobra getting involved as they went to commercial.
When they returned, Simon was tossing Sanders into a ring post and tossed a table into the ring. He placed Sanders over the ring steps and drilled him. Simon yelled at King and then began choking out Sanders. He started to approach Sanders' family before grabbing chairs and tossing them into the ring. Simon set up a pile of chairs. Derrick King left the announcing table and superkicked Simon. Sanders covered Simon, who kicked out at the last second. Sanders started hitting big moves but Simon still kicked out. The crowd chanted, "We believe" for Sanders.
Sanders tossed powder in the face of Simon, who kicked out again. Sanders finally nailed Simon and scored the pin.
Your winner and new Memphis Wrestling Heritage Champion, Ray Sanders!
Sanders was celebrated but Tim Bosby, the holder of the Cobra Cup (think Money in the Bank) hit the ring and smashed Sanders with a back suplex. They announced he was cashing in for a title shot.
Memphis Wrestling Heritage Champion, Ray Sanders vs. Tim Bosby
Bosby started throwing suplexes left and right. He nailed a clothesline and a cutter for the pin.
Your winner and new Memphis Wrestling Heritage Champion, Tim Bosby!
They went off the air with a new champion celebrating.
As I've mentioned before, it's mostly a crop of younger talents trying to find their way. Sanders and Bosby have shown a lot of upside towards their future before and this was Sanders' best showing to date that I've seen. The Lawler segment was a nice, silly piece of nostalgia, and I mean that in the best sense. It was nice to see WMC giving Memphis a chance with the special and hopefully there will be others down the line. Having been to the WrestleCenter, I can attest as to what a great, intimate venue it is and it came across here. There's something really nice about Jerry Lawler being back in a studio wrestling setting, as it feels like how things should be. Kudos to Dustin Starr and his team, as well as WMC, for making it happen.
