12/20 AEW COLLISION REPORT

AEW Collision was recorded after the show Wednesday in Co-op Live in Manchester England. Our commentary team is Excalibur, Tony Schiavone, Nigel McGuinness.

Jack Perry vs Speedball Mike Bailey - Continental Classic Tournament match

They shake hands before locking up. They run the ropes and then get leg sweeps and one counts back and forth. Perry points out his ankle isn’t in top shape as they lock up again and trade arm bars and break. They lock and Bailey forces them to the corner. When they break, Perry lays in chops and follows with a snap suplex for one. 

Bailey comes off the ropes with a backflip and a flurry of kicks. Perry goes to the floor and when Bailey starts to run for a dive, Perry pulls him out of the ring and returns to the ring. Perry tris for a dive, but Bailey has gotten onto the apron and backflips off the top rope onto Perry on the floor. Perry gets a back elbow on Bailey and then slams him on the steel steps as we go to picture in picture.

When we return to full screen, Bailey gets a drop-kick off the second turnbuckle into Perry. Bailey peppers Perry with a series of kicks and then a standing shooting star press for two. Bailey gets a Falcon Arrow and goes to the top for Ultimo, but Perry dodges. They fight with Perry on the apron and Bailey sweeps Perry’s leg. Perry then misses a backflip knee drop and misses. Perry hits a destroyer on the apron and both men are down on the floor.

Perry sells the ankle but he rolls Bailey into the ring at 5. Perry goes to the top and Bailey joins him there, but Perry knocks him down and then misses a double stop. Bailey goes for the discus kick, but Perry catches him and suplexes him into the turnbuckle, and covers for two.

Perry walks into a big kick and then puts him on top. He tries for a flamingo driver, but Perry reverses for two. Perry grabs a snare trap and Bailey crawls to the ropes for the break. 

Perry tries to grab it again, but Bailey rolls through for a small package for two. Bailey gets an elbow strike and then hits a PK. Bailey goes for the backflip double knee, but Perry gets the knees up, which hurts both men. Bailey recovers first and lays in kicks. Bailey goes to the top, but Perry avoids the ultimo weapon. He catches Bailey’s foot, bites his toes and hits a backdrop suplex for the pin and the win.

Winner and gaining three points: Jack Perry

Luchasaurus shows up in the ring with a Santa hat and holds out a gift for Bailey, who finally takes it. 

Nathan Cruz w/Grizzled Young Veterans (James Drake and Zach Gibson) vs Eddie Kingston

GYV heels the crowd in a short promo before the match. Gibson and Drake attack Eddie as he gets to the ring. He’s rolled into the ring and Cruz attacks Eddie and springboards Eddie off the top rope for a slam. Cruz chokes Eddie on the second rope and then leaps onto him. As Cruz distracts the ref, Gibson nails him in the head. Cruz goes for a leap onto Eddie, who dodges it. Eddie gets a clothesline and then machine gun chops in the corner. Eddie gets a neck breaker and GYV gets on the apron, allowing Cruz to roll him up for two.

Eddie hits a DDT on Cruz for the pin and the win.

Winner: Eddie Kingston

Mercedes Mone (Rev Pro and Undisputed Women’s Champion) vs Alex Windsor

Windsor gets a drop-kick and then hammers Mone in the corner. She charges at Mone and runs into a big boot. Windsor dodges a clothesline from Mone and gets a sling blade. She slams Mone and covers for one only. Windsor gets a sharpshooter, but Mone was immediately in the ropes. The move to the apron and Mone hits Windsor with a Meteora, but Windows rolls through on it and grabs a sharpshooter. Mone crawls past and through the turnbuckle area and escapes. 

Windsor grabs Mone off the apron and slams her to the floor. Windsor rolls Mone in the ring for two. Mone is able to leap past Windsor in the corner and then hits a backstabber. Mone gets a kick to the side of Windsor’s head as we go to picture in picture.

When we return to full screen, Mone is hitting the three amigos. Windsor blocks Mone on the third one and shoves Mone to the corner. Mone grabs Windsor by her head and slams her into the second turnbuckle. Mone comes off the second turnbuckle and Windsor hits her with a headbutt as she lands. Windsor gets a neckbreaker with Mone on the ropes. Windsor drops her in the ring and grabs a sharpshooter, but Windsor rolls through, Mone is able to get a crucifix bomb and follows with knee strikes. Mone covers for two.

Mone goes to the top and tries for a swinging DDT, but Windsor holds on and puts Mone back on top. Windsor joins her and they fight on top until Windsor gets a blue thunder bomb from the top for two since that move never wins a match. 

Mone fights out of a hold and gets a backstabber and locks on the statement maker again. Windsor grabs Mone’s head and tries for the sharpshooter, but Mone escapes. Mone kicks her off and Windsor comes back. Mone tries for a sunset flip, but Windsor sits down for two. Mone tries for the Money Maker, but Windsor escapes and rolls Mone up for the pin and the win.

Kazuchika Okada vs Kevin Knight - Continental Classic Tournament match

Don Callis joins commentary.

They lock up and move to waistlocks and arm bars. Knight shoots Okada into the ropes and Okada comes off with a big shoulder tackle. They run the ropes and get arms drags back and forth. They lock up again and go around the ring until Okada stops them in the ropes. Okada does the chest tap. Knight gives Okada the bit bird flip and then dumps Okada to the floor. He leaps and Okada dodges him. They throw hands on the floor as the ref counts. Then, because it’s Rick Knox, he stops counting for no reason.

Okada gets back in the ring and Knight joins him and they go back to throwing hands. Okada finally goes for a rainmaker and Knight leaps over it. They go back to throwing hands. Okada tricks Knight into springboarding from the apron to the middle of the ring, but as he laughs at Knight, Knight hits a drop-kick to knock Okada to the floor. Knight then gets a leaping clothesline from the top to the floor, knocking Okada into the announcer’s table as we go to picture in picture.

When we return to full screen, Okada puts Knight on top and slaps him, Knight comes off the top with a cross body. Knight lays in a series of uppercuts and then a sling blade. Knight hits a splash in the corner and then slams Okada. Knight hits another splash for two. Knight tries for a pendulum DDT, but Okada puts him on the apron. As Knight is leaping over the top, Okada shoves the ref into the ropes to knock Knight down. Okada gets a shoulder breaker and follows with a scoop slam. Okada goes to the top for his elbow drop and gives us the Big Bird.

Knight fights out of the rainmaker and Knight gets out of a back slide and nails Okada with a sky-high slam for two. Knight goes to the top and Okada gets the knees up for the UFO splash. Okada slowly gets to his feet and tries to lift Knight, who blocks it. Okada hits a rainmaker and holds on. Okada tries for another and Knight ducks it and Okada hits a drop-kick. Okada comes off the ropes into Knight’s drop-kick.

Knight hits a DDT and goes to the top. Knight gets a springboard clothesline for two. Okada is seated in the corner and Knight goes to the top. Knight goes for a coast to coast and Okada hits him with a drop-kick in midair. Okada gets a wheelbarrow German suplex. Okada starts to pick him up, but Knight gets a small package for the pin and the win.
