Spotlight Match: Rain Conway vs Love Doug
Rain says he is here to break Doug’s heart like his last 17 girlfriends. I’m leaving that alone. Doug gives some smooches and a shower of flower petals. Rain fights but Doug puts him away in a little under 4 minutes. Delightfully fun.
Match 1: Arica Demia vs Liviyah
Liviyah is making her return after a horrible elbow injury at Open 200. She starts well but Demia quickly targets the elbow, strips the padding and goes on the attack. We do NOT like this but it makes for a good story. Liv finally hits a big German to get space. Liv with a sling blade and a Boston crab gets the tap! Welcome back!
Match 2: Jose Zamora vs Big Bacon Brad Hollister
Brad looks to be cruising to an easy win until Zamora sweeps him off the buckles to block the Jackhammer and hits a backstabber. The offense doesn’t last long as a hip attack and a pull up Olympic slam have the chat convinced Jose is cooked. He blocks another Jackhammer and a springboard legdrop connects for two! He rips off his body cam. Brad blocks the camera shot but Jose rakes the eyes and gets DQ’d! Zamora tries to keep a beating going but Love Doug rushes down to drive him off.
Match 3: Stetson Ranch (Brian Morris & Bobby Casale w/ Steven Stetson) vs Mythical Ones (Brando Lee & Ichiban)
Bobby Casale isn’t an official part of the ranch but he might as well be at this point. Stetson wants to give the Mythical Ones a preview of what’s to come next week when they challenge for the Open tag titles. Lee and Ichiban are running through the Ranch until a Steven Stetson big boot to Ichiban sets up the beatdown. Ichiban catches Bobby Casale with a rollup and shocks the ranch! Ahahahahaha! Lee and Ichiban may have given the RANCH a preview of what’s to come next week.
Match 4: Tiara James vs Shannon LaVangie
Shannon is here to fight for Lauren St. James’ honor after being slapped by Tiara a couple weeks back. Tiara attacks her opponent during her entrance. She brings out a chair just as the ref rings the bell. I think the match is a no contest? The ref immediately leaves as Liviyah runs out to stop her. Tiara doesn’t want this match tonight. She wants this NEXT WEEK at “Unfinished Business”…and Liv can sit at ringside and watch. Honestly, This was weird.
It’s time for Marcus Mathers to join us! He’s enjoying the crowd’s love of him. But he has to address this issue between him, Bear Bronson & Fancy Ryan Clancy. It’s time to settle this. He calls out IWTV champ Fancy Ryan Clancy. Marcus goes through the history of Clancy and his errant KO dropkicks. Marcus and Clancy have been friends for years but he’s thinking Ryan is trying to hurt him. Clancy claims innocence and that he’s always trying to do the right thing. But mostly he thinks that him holding the IWTV belt makes Mathers jealous and willing to make up fantasy. Here comes BEAR BRONSON! Bear isn’t here to maul Clancy. He has good news. He went to Wrestling Open officials. Everyone wants a conclusion. Next Monday: Bear vs Clancy vs Mathers for the IWTV Championship at “Unfinished Business”! Bear promises to finish this once and for all. Does he still hold the Opportunity Knocks contract? The tension between the three of them is huge as they separate.
Main Event: Shooter Boys (Anthony Vecchio & Aaron Ortiz) vs Star Struck (Channing Thomas & Anthony Greene) (No Time Limit)
After two straight time limit draws, it comes down to this main event clash to settle the score! The Shooters were accused of not fighting with their champion spirit before. I don’t know if this is championship spirit….but it definitely way more aggressive than we’ve seen from the Shooters, to the point that Ref Gina has to start telling them to ease up. Star Struck comes back and gives these kids a taste of experience but the Shooter Boys start firing back as we quickly pass the twenty minute mark somehow. This rules. I just like…stopped typing and got lost watched. We’ve hit the point where both teams are clearly trying to take it home. No time limits are gonna stop us now. Ortiz with an excellent double northern lights. Channing and Vecchio go toe to toe but a world class uppercut drops him. Vecchio escapes the piledriver, this is going wild. Both teams egging the other to keep going as they drop each other over and over. Green tries his rope walk crossbody…Vecchio catches him into an ankle lock! Channing tries to break it up….Ortiz locks him up too! Reversed into a double crab! Reversed into a seated ankle locks! Channing escapes to the floor! Greene gets to the rope……Channing off the top to break the hold! Ortiz off the top on Channing! Shooters hit a damn indytaker!!!!! Kickout?!? Star Struck responds by hitting the Shooters own Hart Attack Blockbuster! Kick out! The Boys with doves to the floor! Channing eats the hart attack blockbuster! Razor thin kickout! Vecchio is starting to lose his cool visible and gets in Ref Gina’s face! He calms himself and apologizes as Star Struck swarms! Vecchio sent flying. Greene with a piledriver to Ortiz. A flying uppercut powerbomb to Ortiz finally puts him down after almost 35 minutes of war. FANTASTIC MATCH. My god.
The crowd loved this and appreciate both teams, who come together and hug as everyone cheers. Channing Thomas and Anthony Greene grab the mic and say that New England has the best tag team division and the recently vacated IWTV tag team title are coming back here. This was easily a MOTY candidate…and for me, really put a line in the sand for other tag teams to try to replicate.
