We take a look at what happened last week with Cody Rhodes and Drew McIntyre.
Michael and Corey talk about what is going to happen tomorrow.
Michael mentions that Nick Aldis had an announcement.
Nick says that he is trying to reinstate Drew but he has not responded to any calls or emails. Nick says he has invited Drew to Smackdown to discuss bringing him back.
Cody walks in the back and he asks Nick if Drew is here.
Nick says he has a legal letter from Drew's attorney claiming that this is an unsafe work place. He says he is going to Drew's house this week to deal with it.
Cody crumples up the letter and walks to the ring.
Cody says he wants to talk about Drew McIntyre. Drew says this is an unsafe working environment. He nearly snatched him bald and now it is unsafe. There is a reason Drew isn't doing 5AM media junkets or appearances. It is because Drew is half in and that is why he is not sweating Drew. Cody says if he was Drew's boss, he would fire him. Cody says he is not his boss, but he cannot fire him. Cody says he can whip Drew's ass.
The building goes green and Oba Femi's music plays and he does the Oba strut to the ring and up to Cody in the ring.
Cody hands Oba a microphone.
Oba tells Cody he sees he is all fired up. He loves the passion, but you are worried about the wrong man. You are worried about Drew and he is not here. The NXT Champion is in the building tonight. Oba introduces himself to Cody. He says he is the ruler, destroyer, bringer of war, mountain you cannot climb, and your opponent tomorrow night. Oba says in the spirit of Saturday Night's Main Event, it is the present versus the future. They talk about the future as a distant thing. Oba says he is knocking on Cody's door and he says the future is now. Using hustle, loyalty, and respect, your time is up and his time is now.
Cody mentions that was a John Cena quote and he is glad that he looks up to John. Cody says he is the man who beat John for the title. Cody starts to walk away but Oba stops him.
Oba holds up his title, as is tradition. Cody does the same.
Nathan Frazer tells Ilja if DIY does anything, they will come out to kick their teeth down their throat.
Axiom says if Ilja needs their help, they will be out there.
Ilja says he will uphold the tradition of the challenge and he will do it alone. John Cena started the tradition and he never backed down from a bully or a fight. If he plays with the Mad Dragon, he will burn his ffingers.
Match Number One: Tommaso Ciampa versus Ilja Dragunov for the WWE Men's United States Championship
They lock up and Ciampa backs Ilja into the corner and he connects with chops and forearms. Ilja with a knee and chop followed by a European uppercut. Ciampa with a forearm and Ilja with a forearm. They continue the exchange and they go to chops. They slap each other and Ilja with a jumping kick to the head. Ilja with a chop but Ciampa with a kick and forearm. Ciampa with a drop kick to the knee and a running knee for a near fall. Ila with an Irish whip and he connects with a running knees in the corner. Ilja kicks Ciampa off the apron and Ilja runs at Ciampa but misses a running corkscrew uppercut and hits the ring steps. Ciampa suplexes Ilja into the ring steps. Ciampa sends Ilja back into the ring. Ciampa sends Ilja's knee into the mat.
Ciampa with a kick to the head and a chop. Ciampa with chops and slaps and Ilja chops back. Ciampa puts the leg in the ropes and he kicks the leg and hits a dragon screw. Ilja kicks Ciampa to block a single leg crab. Ciampa with a chop and he avoids an enzuigiri. Ciampa with a knee drop to the leg. Ciampa rakes the eyes and he chops Ilja. Ilja with a front face lock and forearms. Ciampa with a KneeDT for a near fall. Ciampa works on the leg and Ilja with forearms. Ilja tries to kick Ciampa away and Ciampa with a waist lock. Ilja with elbows and Ilja swings in the ropes and his knee gives out. Ciampa iwth kick to the leg and a knee. Ilja with an enzuigiri. Ilja with chops and slaps.
Ilja with a knee to Ciampa and a slap. Ilja with a knee and a German suplex. Ilja holds on and hits a second one. Ilja holds on but Ciampa with ahots to the leg. Ilja with elbows to the clavicle. Ilja goes or a wrist clutch gutwrench but his knee gives out. They exchange strikes and Ilja with a belly-to-back set up into an elevated clothesline for a near fall. Ciampa chops Ilja on the turnbuckles and Ilja slaps Ciampa to the mat. Ciampa kicks Ilja off the turnbuckles to the apron and Ciampa follows with an Air Raid Crash for a near fall. Ilja head butts Ciampa off the turnbuckles. Ilja with a missile drop kick to Ciampa. Ilja gets back to his feet first. Ilja with a chop.
Ciampa goes to the apron and Ilja with cross faces. Ilja tries to superplex Ciampa back into the ring but Ciampa stops Ilja and knocks him to the mat. Ciampa with a single leg crab. Ilja rolls over and he kicks Ciampa but Ciampa returns to the single leg crab. Ilja with kicks to escape and he hits a running boot tot he head. Ilja goes for the wrist clutch exploder and hits it. Ilja chops Ciampa and Ciampa chops back. Ilja with a head butt and Ciampa with a slap. Illja with a slap of his own. Ilja with Kobashi chops in the corner. Ilja puts Ciampa on the turnbuckles and he slaps Ciampa. Ilja with a chop and Ilja goes to the turnbuckles. Ilja sets for a superplex but Ciampa with a Super Air Raid Crash for a near fall.
Ilja and Ciampa get back to their feet and they slap each other. Ciampa staggers Ilja and Ciampa blocks a kick and hits a dragon screw. The knee pad comes down but Ilja with a head butt. Ciampa with a German suplex and Ilja with a flying head butt.
Johnny Gargano gets on the apron and Candice drops Ilja on the top rope. Ciampa with a running knee and he gets a near fall. Ilja counters Fairy Tale Ending with a back body drop and he drops down for the three count.
Winner: Ilja Dragunov ((retains Championship)
After the match, Ciampa and Gargano attack Ilja.
Carmelo Hayes comes toteh ring and he takes care of Gargano and Ciampa.
Hayes goes over to Ilja and helps him up.
Cathy Kelley is with Je'Von Evans.
She asks hiim how he feels about tomorrow.
Evans says he is giddy as hell. He is doing it with his friend.
Miz shows up and he says he doesn't have a match and Cathy is interviewing someone who wasn't born when John debuted.
Evans says that Miz had two opportunities and he lost.
Miz says he faced two of the best and wrestles at a higher level than Evans.
Evans challenges Miz to a match.
Miz says he will asks Aldis for a match and if you are injured, you don't have a match tomorrow.
We cut to the feed interruption from the Wyatts. They say they are here.
We go to commercial.
The lights go down and the flashlights on the phone go on for the Wyatts.
Howdy mentions Solo Sikoa and he says you have made many claims to discredit him and his family. Who are you to cast judgment? You may not have the power to look inside Solo, but they do. The reality is that your real family has all turned their backs on you. You use and abuse those you claim to love. You are disillusioned. You are out of your mind saying the MFTs run Smackdown. He laughs. Rip the scales from your eyes, they run nothing. while the Wyatts have the tag titles. If you and your family want these titles, come and get them.
Solo Sikoa's music plays and they wait for them to come through the entrance, but Rowan looks behind them.
We see them in their board room.
Solo asks what did you think was going to happen? They are going to come out the way you want? Solo says they call the shots. They are going to do things their way. They are coming to take those tag titles next week. Be ready for war. If you want to keep your family safe, give them the tag titles. If you don't, the only that you can do is . . . RUN.
Charlotte tells Alexa that Lash is the most powerful woman but Alexa will win.
Rhea Ripley shows up and says her and Iyo are next for the tag titles.
Alexa says they are not stepping aside for anybody.
Rhea wishes Alexa luck and Alexa wishes Alexa luck.
We go to commercial.
We are bak and Sol Ruca and Bayley are in the crowd.
Match Number Two: Alexa Bliss versus Lash Legend
Lash misses a bicycle kick and Alexa gets on Lash's back but Lash with a snap mare. Lash misses a boot into the corner. Alexa with a La Mistica to send Lash to teh floor. Alexa goes for a cannonball off the apron but Lash catches her and Lash drops Alexa on the ringside barrier. They return to the ring. Lash with a wrist lock and she works on the arm. Lash lifts Alexa up by the wrist and she hits a clothesline for a near fall. Lash with a splash for a near fall. Lash with an Irish whip but she runs into an elbow. Lash catches Alexa off the turnbuckles. Alexa counters with a DDT. Alexa with slaps and punches followed by a knee and drop kick. Lash with a punch to Alexa. Lash grabs Alexa on the apron and Alexa drops Lash on the top rope. Nia pulls Alexa. Flair with a super kick to Nia and Lash with a boot to Flair.
Lash blocks a DDT and hits Lash Extension for the three count.
Winner: Lash Legend
Cathy ambushes Black and Zelina.
Zelina says it didn't have to come to this. This is happening because Damian doesn't like the man he is. Phoning a friend doesn't save him.
Black says if Damian wants to drag his friends to hell, so be it.
On January 2nd, Smackdown returns to three hours.
Match Number Three: Miz versus Je'Von Evans
They lock up and Miz with a side head lock and shoulder tackle. Miz pie faces Evans. Miz mocks Evans. They lock up and Miz pushes Evans on a break. Evans with a monkey flip. Evans mocks Miz and hits a drop kick. Evans with a springboard head scissors take down that sends Miz ot teh floor. Miz moves and Evans goes for a baseball slide but misses. Miz with a knee. Evans with an Asai Moonsault. Miz with a thrust kick and he sends Evans into the ring post. Miz hyper-extends the arm and Evans falls to the floor. Miz sends Evans into the ringside barrier a few times. Miz with a springboard double sledge. Miz with an arm bar and elbows to the clavicle. Evans with punches and kicks. Miz catches Evans off the ropes on a springboard move and he stomps on the elbow. Miz puts the arm on the ropes and Miz kicks the ropes.
Miz works on the shoulder but Evans with a sunset flip for a near fall. Evans with a kick and he avoids a baseball slide. Evans gets a near fall. Evans misses a splash into the corner and hits the turnbuckles. Miz with a cross face but Evans rolls back to get a near fall. Evans with chops. Evans with punches but Miz with a kick to the arm. Evans with a kick and a thrust kick. vans with a rebound round kick for a near fall. Evans goes to the turnbuckles and goes for a moonsault but lands on his feet. Miz with a slam and he sets for the Five Knuckle Shuffle and hits it. Miz sets for the Attitude Adjustment but Evans lands on his feet and he sends Miz to the floor. Evans with a plancha.
Miz catches Evans on a double jump cutter but Evans rolls through for a near fall. Evans with a double jump cutter for the three count.
Winner: Je'Von Evans
Rhea is in the back and Lash and Nia stop by and ask her if she saw what they did to Alexa and Charlotte. Lash says things are changing.
Rhea asks if that is a threat. She says Nia doesn't want to have to deal with her. She says when her and Iyo want the titles, they will get them.
Priest shows up and says this is the energy he is looking for.
Jade shows up and she walks away.
Michin says Jade has been picking on every one of them. She hates a bully. You are going to give her everything she has so she will give everything to Jade.
Jade attacks Michin in Gorilla with a kick and she sends Michin into the wall.
Jade walks to the ring.
Jade takes a mic and she says y'all gonna stop trying her. That is what happens when the women don't know their place. Anyone can get stepped on. She is that . . .
Michin comes to the ring with a kendo stick.
Michin hits Jade with the kendo stick a few times. Michin goes under the ring for a table. Jade with a bicycle kick and she sends Michin into the ring. Jade looks around and she puts the table under the ring. Michin punches Jade and Jade with a choke slam. Jade stands over Michin.

Match Number Four: Zelina Vega and Aleister Black versus Damian Priest and Rhea Ripley
Black and Zelina go after Rhea and Priest. Black kicks Priest and Priest sends Black into the corner and Priest with punches and uppercuts. Priest clotheslines Black over the top rope. Priest goes to make the tag but Zelina gets on Priest’s back. That doesn’t stop Priest from making the tag. Vega punches Rhea and Rhea follows after her. Rhea with short arm clotheslines. Rhea goes for a belly-to-back suplex but Vega lands on her feet. Rhea blocks a tornado DDT and Rhea with a knee and clothesline. Rhea with a running shoulder into the corner and more shoulders. Rhea with an Irish whip and Vega moves and Rhea hits the ring post shoulder first. Vega with an arm wringer for a near fall. Vega with a double wrist lock and Rhea gets a rollup for a near fall. Rhea picks up Vega and Vega gets to her feet. Black gets on the apron to distract and Vega with a flatliner for a near fall.
Rhea with a kimura and body scissors. Rhea tries to escape but Vega holds on. Rhea puts Vega on the turnbuckles and Vega continues to hold on. Vega goes to the turnbuckles for meteora and a near fall. Vega with punches. Rhea with a back fist and Vega escapes a slam and she kicks Rhea in the back off the leg and follows with a DDT for a near fall. Rhea picks up Vega and she tosses Vega away but Vega holds on with a modified face buster. Black and Priest tag in and Priest with clotheslines and a leaping flatliner. Priest with an elbow into the corner followed by a Broken Arrow for a near fall. Vega leaps on Priest's back and Priest pushes her off. Black with a kick and German suplex for a near fall.
Black with punches and forearms. Priest with a kick and Rhea tags in. Black kicks Priest in the knee and Vega sends Rhea into the ring post. Vega kicks Priest and she takes care of Rhea. Black with a kick to Priest and Vega and Black with stereo moonsaults to the floor. Vega goes to the turnbuckles for a cross body but Rhea catches her and Rhea goes for RipTide and then turns it into a Razor's Edge but Rhea collapses under Vega. Vega with Code Red for a near fall. Vega misses a round kick but hits a back heel kick. Vega with a forearm but Rhea catches Vega and goes for a fallaway slam but Vega gets away. Rhea gets Vega on her shoulders and drops Vega to the mat for a near fall.
Rhea gets in Black's face and he goes to the apron. Rhea with a head butt to knock Black off the apron. Vega with a rollup for a near fall. Priest and Rhea with stereo Razor's Edges. Rhea with RipTide for the three count.
Winners: Rhea Ripley and Damian Priest
