THE ROAD TO AMC BEGINS, DOG COLLAR MATCH AND MORE: 12/11 TNA IMPACT ON AXS TV REPORT

By Mike Johnson on 2025-12-11 22:01:00

Welcome to PWInsider.com's TNA Impact on AXS TV report!

We are in El Paso and our announcers are, as always, the excellent Tom Hannifan and Matthew Rewoldt.

After a recap of everything that has led up to tonight, we go to the ring for TNA Champion Frankie Kazarian presenting The King’s Speech.

He boasts about “retiring” JDC at Final Resolution and declares himself the undisputed leader of TNA as it heads into a new era on AMC.  Kazarian positions himself as the new face of AMC, telling the fans stating that their anger fuels him (apparently he's a Sith Lord), and insists he will remain TNA World Champion for a very long time.  Mike Santana Interrupts and appears in the crowd, cutting off Kazarian. Santana addresses the El Paso crowd, speaking briefly in Spanish, and acknowledges that while he doesn’t like how Kazarian became champion, he respects that he seized the opportunity.  He says that Team TNA vs. Team NXT will collide inside a Steel Cage next week. He states that the NXT invasion cost him the World Title and vows retaliation. Santana then officially declares that on 1/17/26 at TNA Genesis, he will challenge Kazarian for the TNA Championship.  Kazarian pushes back, but Santana warns him to stay on high alert and promises the title will be coming “back home to Papi.”  Santana's charisma grows by the week as he's gotten comfortable in his role speaking.  Kazarian was perfect as his foil here.

Team NXT is shown backstage.  Lexis King mocks TNA’s continued survival, while High Ryze target The Hardys. Brooks Jensen claims they have everything to gain in the upcoming cage match. Stacks singles out Santino Marella, airing personal grievances and promising that next week marks the beginning of NXT’s takeover of TNA.

Lexis King vs. Matt Cardona

King methodically targeted Cardona’s injured arm, keeping him grounded and limiting his offense. Cardona eventually fought his way back into the match, bursting out of the corner with a clothesline to spark a comeback. He drove King to the canvas with a Flatliner and followed with a running boot in the corner.  King cut Cardona off by attacking the arm once again before connecting with a superkick. King then attempted to use his walking stick as a weapon, only for the referee to intervene. As King argued with the official, Stacks rushed the ring and was immediately dropped with Radio Silence. The distraction worked, as King quickly recovered and caught Cardona off guard with a rollup to steal the victory.

Your winner, Lexis King!

Post-match, King and Stacks assault Cardona until Steve Maclin rushes in to make the save. Cardona is left clutching his shoulder.

During the match, they made it clear the cage match will have Wargames style entrances.

Backstage, TNA Knockouts Champion Lei Ying Lee and her Angel Warriors partner Xia Brookside speak about their mutual respect following Final Resolution. They are interrupted by Robert Stone, accompanied by Tessa Blanchard, Victoria, and Milla. Tessa boasts about her accomplishments and suggests she can claim the Knockouts Title whenever she chooses.  So, it's Tessa vs. Lee down the line.

The Elegance Brand vs. Harley Hudson & Myla Grace

The Elegance Brand made their entrance dressed as elves, carrying fake presents that they deliberately refused to share with their opponents, immediately provoking a brief brawl before the opening bell.  During the match, M faked an ankle injury to create an opening for Heather to score a cheap shot on Hudson. M later missed a senton, allowing Hudson to tag in Grace. Grace built momentum and nearly secured the victory with an inverted butterfly suplex, then effectively removed M from the equation by hitting a Code Red.  Towards the end, The Concierge climbed onto the apron holding one of the “gifts.” Hudson intercepted him and smashed the present over his head. Grace followed by rolling up Heather, but M, who was recovering on the floor, reached in and pulled Heather on top of Grace, stealing the pinfall victory.

Your winers, The Elegance Brand

Injury Report

Matt Cardona has a shoulder injury and is now out of next week’s steel cage match.  Mustafa Ali has abrasions from Final Resolution.  JDC has ip inflammatihon and joint irritation and is now questionable.  Santino Marella has a jaw contusion but is officially medically cleared.

Rich Swann is cutting a promo where he announces he was tired of being treated as secondary despite his accomplishments and is done with First Class.   AJ Francis blindsides Swann, declaring that he has always been “First Class.”

Six-Way Scramble: TNA X-Division Top Contender Match: BDE vs. Ryan Nemeth vs. Dezmond Xavier vs. Jake Something vs. Jason Hotch vs. Cedric Alexander

Mustafa Ali joined commentary.

A fast-paced, chaotic contest sees constant momentum shifts and near falls.   A standout early moment saw Jake Something repeatedly run the ropes, flattening anyone who crossed his path with shoulder blocks. Cedric Alexander, BDE, and Dezmond Xavier eventually joined forces to neutralize Something with a nice superkick. From there, the match settled into two competitors briefly squaring off in the ring while the remaining participants were down on the floor, cycling through a series of rapid exchanges.  Xavier spiked Ryan Nemeth with a cutter before Jason Hotch attempted a suplex, only for Xavier to counter with a roll-up for a near fall. Hotch responded by dropping Xavier with a neckbreaker, but Alexander immediately entered and connected with a clothesline followed by a Michinoku Driver for a close two count. Jake Something broke up the pin and then went face-to-face with Alexander, overpowering him with a slam and forcing him to retreat to the floor. That opened the door for a brief showdown between Something and BDE, which heavily favored Something.

Something controlled the ring, keeping the other competitors at bay while isolating BDE. He set BDE up for a superplex, but Xavier and Alexander cut him off, powerbombing Something out of the corner. With Something removed, Xavier and Alexander traded offense until Hotch cut Xavier down with an enzuigiri. Hotch and Alexander exchanged strikes before Alexander dove through the ropes to wipe out Something on the floor. Hotch followed with a moonsault to the outside, taking out both Alexander and Something, before Xavier added a tope suicida onto the pile.  BDE attempted to join the aerial assault, but Nemeth cut him off with a clothesline and followed by mocking Mara Sadé. Nemeth scored a near fall with a DDT, then went to retrieve a chair from under the ring. That decision backfired when Sadé appeared and dropped Nemeth with a superkick, effectively removing him from the match.

Back inside the ring, Alexander connected with a Spanish Fly on Hotch for a near fall. The action escalated rapidly as Something leveled Alexander with a body block, Xavier took down Something, and BDE drilled Xavier with a cutter for another close count. BDE then connected with a frog splash on Something, but before he could capitalize, Alexander intercepted him and delivered the Lumbar Check to secure the pinfall victory.

Your winner, Cedric Alexander!

Backstage, JDC stops Eddie Edwards, promising to bring his best at Genesis. Edwards welcomes the challenge.  They will face off in JDC's retirement match.

Kazarian complained about having to face Mike Santana and demanded another challenger.  Santino Marella announced a future Battle Royal, with the winner earning a TNA Title match against Kazarian on Impact.  Kazarian is not happy.  He's also not happy when he's told he'll also have to defend his title at the AMC premiere.  That's three title defenses in January!

Team NXT confronts Santino and Arianna. After Stacks insults Santino as a father, Arianna slaps her fiance, Stacks, escalating tensions.

Sinner & Saint vs. The System

The match, like Final Resolution, another match where talents could prove themselves worthy of joining The System.

The early stages saw Brian Myers isolated and worked over for the opening minutes, as Sinner & Saint attempted to control the pace.  Momentum shifted when Eddie Edwards received the hot tag, immediately turning the tide. Williams inadvertently positioned himself in the corner, allowing Edwards to capitalize with a Backpack Stunner. Sinner & Saint briefly regained control, connecting with a double-team sit-out powerbomb on Edwards that earned Williams a near fall.  However, The System reasserted themselves, isolating Williams and cutting off any chance of recovery.  Myers nailed The Roster Cut followed by The Boston Knee Party from Edwards for the pin on Williams.

Your winners, The System!

The teams share a post-match show of respect.

TNA Tag Team Champions Matt and Jeff Hardy thank the El Paso crowd and pay tribute to Eddie Guerrero. They confirm that next week’s steel cage match against Team NXT is designed to end the invasion once and for all.  They promise the next year will be the biggest for TNA ever.  The Righteous Interrupt.  Vincent and Dutch enter, expressing admiration for The Hardys and crediting them as inspirations. They insist they are not threats but observers, wishing The Hardys luck. The exchange is tense yet respectful, with The Righteous exiting without incident.  More of a tease for the future.

Santino announces that Matt Cardona cannot compete next week due to injury. His replacement is revealed to be Santino Marella himself, drawing concern from Arianna Grace.  Uh huh.

Dog Collar Match: Dani Luna vs. Indi Hartwell

A brutal, physical contest that saw both women utilize the chain.    Luna struck first, attacking Hartwell immediately after she was fitted with the dog collar. Hartwell responded by lashing Luna with the chain, and once Luna was secured to the collar as well, the match officially got underway.  Hartwell scored an early near fall with a side slam before Luna rolled to the floor and attempted to retreat, only to be stopped by the chain connecting them. Hartwell yanked Luna into the ring apron, but Luna answered by pulling Hartwell throat-first into the ropes. Back inside the ring, Luna used the chain to choke Hartwell, asserting control.

The brawl spilled to the floor, where Luna wrapped the chain around Hartwell and the ringpost, choking her and whipping her with the chain. Luna followed with a boot before freeing Hartwell, then drove her shoulder-first into the post. Hartwell retaliated by pulling Luna headfirst into the post, busting Luna open, the first blood in months in TNA.  Back in the ring, Hartwell focused on the damage, targeting the cut before booting Luna over the ropes. Hartwell then used the chain to pull Luna back into the ring and planted her with a spinebuster for a near fall. Luna fired back by catching Hartwell with the chain between the legs and connecting with a running boot, also earning a close count.  Luna went to the floor to retrieve powder, but Hartwell tripped her, causing the powder to spill. In the ensuing chaos, Luna shoved Hartwell into the referee, knocking her down, then connected with the Luna Landing. After a brief delay, the referee recovered just enough to crawl over and count the pinfall.

Your winner,  Dani Luna!

That was all for this week as the road to AMC and Genesis begins!
