We are told by several who were in attendance last night that Steven Borden, the son of Sting, looked very good in his AEW debut in a dark match last night in Atlanta. Borden came out to Led Zeppelin's The Immigrant Song and looked like the spitting image of a younger version of his father. Borden wore plain black tights and played a babyface who got a nice reaction once his name came up on the AEW Tron during his entrance. We were told his selling and the punches during his comeback looked good and that the crowd got behind him, chanting "Steve" during the match. He's been training with Darby Allin.
Terralicia Mercedal aka NOLA Muscle Mami, a social media influencer and celebrity fitness trainer was spotted at last night's Dynamite as well. Mercedal had a WWE tryout last year. We heard at the time that she was done well. Based on her Instagram account, she now lives in Atlanta and is pursuing professional wrestling currently. She certainly has the look for the business.
John Cena acknowledged Samoa Joe's shout-out on last night's Dynamite. The two first broke in together at Rick Bassman's UPW in California. Footage from that era now resides in the WWE library:
Billy Gunn appeared last night in the corner of Elijah Drago and Brady Booker for their win over Jimmy Wild and Tommy Mars in a dark match before Dynamite.
As we noted last night, Ortiz returned to an AEW ring officially last night, losing to Hook.
Satnum Singh, who was celebrating his birthday yesterday, defeated Chase Emory.
