12/6 ASE SECOND ANNIVERSARY SHOW LIVE REPORT FROM CHARLOTTE, NC

By David Houston on 2025-12-07 17:41:00

ASE Wrestling held their 2nd Anniversary show at the Piedmont Open IB Middle School during another big jam-packed pro wrestling weekend.

Christopher Lea and Big Swole on commentary. GO79man and Showtime worked in the places of normal lead interviewer Gerard Bonner and ring announcer Nadiah Hunter and both did well in the roles.
The theme of the night seemed to be Hoss Fight.

Entertaining free preshow on Youtube that saw Keith Mack and Zuka King team with Security Guard Dre, in his in-ring ASE debut, to finally get the best of Starrwear Fashion (Ashton Starr, Blade Brown and the debuting Kid Neon (filling in for Zamir Zuriel), handing Starr a rare defeat in ASE.  The second bout was a matchup of Lodi trainees with "The" Dontay Khalifah getting a win over WWE ID talent Jha'Quan "Air" McNair in a good match.  Khalifah was not done for the night. He mentioned wanting to be in the title picture and off the pre-show. Hm.

They open the main show with the first of several Hoss Fights (Kaiju Fights to some but I'm Southern and we have hosses in the South) with "Heavyweight Hustle" Calvin Tankman winning an impromptu 3 Way over Bojack, making his ASE singles debut, and ASE fan favorite and Day Oner, "The Gifted One" Yahya.  Tankman was originally scheduled to challenge Kaun for the Pan-Afrikan World Diaspora championship but was called away for an AEW Collision show.  Yahya called out Tankman to join his and Bojack's scheduled match, going back to Tankman disrespecting him on a promo at a previous show.  Big men doing big man stuff with surprisingly athleticism thrown in and a ring that earned a bonus for holding up.

In a surprise, The Top Shooters (Maurice Moss, Trey Da Rula with Andrew Diggs) won their ASE debut in a 3 Way tag match over ASE's most popular team, the Uglee Gang (represented by "Creme Pie Papi" Reyhan Inteus and Zay Vega with Jordan Holt and UG associate, Chayce Coleman) and Treehouse Lee of the Audacity, holding it down on his own as his partner and brother Saieve Al Sabah couldn't make it.  Fun, all action match.   Lee was showing off and doing everything to offset not having a partner.  Inteus size compared to everyone else was starting to pay off but Coleman got too excited, attacking Lee while referee Nick Shin was checking on a downed Holt (knocked down by Lee).  Inteus tossed his protege from the ring, focused so hard on checking the young second generation star, he was open for Diggs to blast him with his cane.   The Shooters hit Vega with an impressive Doomsday Device/powerbomb double team maneuver for the win.  Inteus was furious with Coleman after the match, but the focus was checking on Vega. More to come, I'm sure.

"The Business" Billy Dixon delivered a fiery promo, determined to not give up his pursuit of long-time enemy and current ASE Men's champion, Darius Carter, in his final year of in ring competition. He took us on a journey with this one.

In a rematch from the Oct show, "Catch Flow" Darrian Bengston again got the best of "The Journeyman" (or "Good Hand") Suge D in a Hold 4 Hold Challenge match (all graps, no strikes).  Like before, there was a dose of shenanigans to go with the excellent mat grappling.  That was Suge's 3rd consecutive loss in ASE (the last two to Bengston).  GO79man handles his post-match interview. Suge gives an impassioned promo on how losing the Pan Afrikan title to Kaun back in July has thrown him off his game and he's determined to get "her" back. Great stuff. The talking has been compelling so far.

"The Big Flexer" Alexis Littlefoot made her in-ring debut, after a couple appearances as a messy interviewer. She said "The Cannibal" Savannah Evans cost her money by not winning the ASE Women's title so she was going to get it back in blood.  Turned out it was her own as Evans was going all power in this, bouncing the smaller Littlefoot around at leisure sometimes.  Littlefoot blowing Evans up before the match, getting her to chase her around the ring popped me. That was damn smart.  I've been saying she's doing modern day Roddy Piper when he first went to the WWF, and this was Piper vs Andre. lol
Quote Littlefoot after the match when a fan asked her how she got beat like that after all that hot talk, "Why you didn't help when the fat bih jumped on me?"

"The Intergalactic Soul" (and ASE founder) Darius Lockhart put away his months-long rival, Frontman Jah-C, in a wild match that spilled out onto the floor and up into the bleachers.  Closing sequence was Lockhart being a step ahead of each offensive or defensive move thrown at him by Jah, beating him with a slick looking face buster out of a side suplex.  He's also wanting to another shot at Carter. Does nobody like that guy? Strong post-match promo.

Moses, now reunited with Kaun from their Ring of Honor days, comes out to dismiss the prospective challengers to Kaun, Suge and Tankman. He forgot one, "The Problem" Isaiah Broner, who had his one title challenge had outside interference a couple shows back.

ASE Commissioner Caprice Coleman has granted him an impromptu match against Moses. Good. He was there and in his work clothes.  More an angle than a match but the short match they had was more big men doing big man stuff, throwing heavy blows and slams until the masked henchmen that came out with Moses attacked Broner, forcing the ref to stop the match and give Broner the disqualification win.  Suge D makes the save and offers partnership with Broner, who isn't really interested.

The first of two title matches saw Women's champion "The Powerhouse" Charity King successfully retain against the game challenge of "The Gold Standard" Joseline Navarro (who's gear was on point).
The tiniest Hoss Fight I've ever seen but a good one.  Navarro missed a spin kick to the back of King's head but cleaned it up with a simple stomp to the head (I like good clean ups) and then an impressive fisherman buster neckbreaker.  Might have got it but went with a pin cover of sitting on King's shoulders (Lea called it "yams to the face"). That cover might work on Broner at the house but not King on this night.  King hits a middle rope suplex and then her King's Kiss (World's Strongest Slam) finish for the win.  Code of Honor adhered after the match.  Broner comes out to check on her which brings out Suge, still pleading his case that they need to unite to fight Kaun and Moses.  Navarro was not having it, cooking that brother and telling him to get a partner from...some lady he might know and face them at the next show in February.  Well damn. Suge has to work on his timing. Even Swole thought he was out of pocket.

"The All Father" Darius Carter (with Ryan Rembrandt still looking like the one Black Republican who voted for Herschel Walker) beat back the very tough challenge of Deadlock Pro Wrestling National champion "The Ring Warrior" Labron Kozone.  Best match of the show with a lot of strong technical work. Carter used a lot of underhanded tactics to hold off Kozone's superior power.   Possibly entrance of the year as his theme music was played by the school's orchestra. The only reason it wouldn't be is they were mic'ed so someone watching on the stream might not get how dope it was in person.  Surprisingly, "The" Dontay Khalifah made an appearance. He didn't touch anyone but came out, admiring the ASE Men's title belt, even carrying it around.  Kozone, a mentor of Khalifah according to commentary, kept asking him to leave, taking his attention off Carter.  He finally heeds Kozone's directions but as soon as Kozone turns, he smashes him with the title belt, feeding him into the ring for Carter to hit his Cobra Clutch face plant finish (I know it has a name but I dont know it yet. I just know it's cool).  Kozone's disappointed face is the last thing we see as they go to black with Carter and Rembrandt celebrating. That marks a full calendar year of Carter as champion.  Long may he reign.

Another well done, well laid out show from ASE.  Straight forward and always showing the mental agility to make moments when plans are tossed out.
