AEW Collision was recorded last night after Dynamite in Cleveland OH at the Greater Columbus Convention Center. Our commentary team is Ian Riccaboni, Tony Schiavone, and Nigel McGuinness.
Renee Paquette from the back and advised us that Orange Cassidy is cleared to wrestle, but Roderick Strong has said he will focus on Cassidy’s injured back
Orange Cassidy vs Roderick Strong - Continental Classic Tournament match
Cassidy calls for greco Roman knuckle lock and Strong walks away. They lock up and move to mat wrestling and go hold for hold. Cassidy gets to the ropes to break the hold when Strong has a double wristlock. They do go for the greco Roman knuckle lock and use that to go back to mat wrestling and Cassidy goes to the ropes. Strong forces Cassidy to the corner and lays in chops, but Cassidy blocks them and gets a side headlock takeover. Cassidy gets a second side headlock takeover and covers for two.
Cassidy gets another side headlock takeover and holds Strong down. Strong gets to his feet and tries to shoot Cassidy off, but Cassidy holds onto the headlock. When Strong works to his feet, Cassidy gets a takedown off the bottom rope. Cassidy rolls back on Strong for two and Cassidy once again grabs that side headlock on the mat. Strong works to his feet and works his way free with wrist control and lays in a chop. Cassidy rolls to the floor to recover.
Strong follows him and lays in chops as Cassidy tries to get away, but Cassidy gets a side headlock takeover. Strong works to his feet and drops Cassidy’s back first on the barricade. He goes back to chopping Cassidy and they return to the ring. Strong gets a backbreaker as we go to picture in picture.
When we return to full screen, Cassidy gets a spinning DDT. We are told Strong get 9 backbreakers during the break. Strong gets repeated chops and Cassidy drops after each one. Cassidy goes for his pockets. Strong gets a double leg pick and goes for the Stronghold. Cassidy escapes and knocks Strong to the floor and then dives onto Strong. They return to the ring and Cassidy slams Strong’s head into the top turnbuckle three times.
Cassidy goes to the top for a crossbody and Strong catches and slams him for two. Strong blocks the a stundog millionaire, so Cassidy gets a crucifix rollup for two. Cassidy gets a leaping DDT from the apron over the top rope. Cassidy goes to the top and Strong joins him. Cassidy knocks Strong down and Strong joins him again and Cassidy knocks him down with elbows before hitting a tornado DDT for two.
Cassidy takes off the elbow pad, and sells his back. Strong grabs him and hits a backbreaker and then into a torture rack into end of heartache for two. Cassidy gets Stundog millionaire, and orange punch and then crosses Strong’s legs for a rollup for the pin and the win.

We are told Darby Allin is no longer in the tournament due to an injury and Jack Perry is taking his place. We then go to Darby in the back who is upset about his injury and not being cleared to wrestle, so he doesn’t know what his future is.
FTR, Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood, and Stokely come to the ring. As they come to the ring, we are shown the confrontation they had last week with the Bang Bang Gang. Stokley has the mic and he says it is the greatest night of his life because FTR are the tag team champions. The crowd chants for him to shut up. He then says they want the Bang Bang Gang in the ring right now.
They oblige him.
Cash then berates them and says the last time they beat them will be the last time they beat them. Dax then berates them as well and says the only time they matter is when they stand across the ring from FTR. Dax says that since there is no way they can ever beat FTR, he double dares them to touch his belt.
Austin Gunn insults them and says FTR is avoiding them. He says he won’t have anything to do with their weird fetish about touching the belt, and instead he wants them to reach into their pockets, pull out a pen and put their names on a contract. Juice Robinson says the next time they will touch the titles will be in England when they are the NEW Tag team champions.
In the back, Marina Shafir, Wheeler Yuta, and Daniel Garcia, and then run down Mark Briscoe and Garcia says the dumbest thing Mark has done is put his title on the line against him.
Claudio Castagnoli vs Mascara Dorada - Continental Classic Tournament match
They lock up and Claudio forces him to the mat quickly and Dorada spends his time getting out of Claudio's holds. Dorada gets an arm drag takedown and backs off. Claudio gets a big kick and a chop to take down Dorada and gets a side headlock takedown. They run the ropes and Claudio gets a spinning backbreaker for two. He then lays in stomps and slaps Dorada down again for two.
They run the ropes and Dorada gets a series of kicks to Claudio’s legs and then a rope based springboard arm drag and Claudio rolls to the floor. Dorada goes for a dive, and Claudio instead hits an uppercut from the apron. He gorilla presses Dorada onto the barricade twice as we go to picture in picture.
When we return to full screen, Claudio has a rear chinlock and tries to take off his mask. Dorada works his way free and lays in a series of kicks. Claudio stops him by picking the leg and getting the giant swing. Claudio gets a running uppercut, but Dorada dodges the second and gets a big kick. Dorada runs into a big boot in the corner, but then gets a leaping arm drag and a hurricanrana. Claudio avoids Dorada’s baseball slide and whips Dorada into the ring. Dorada gets a leaping arm drag as Claudio poses for the crowd.
Dorada gets a diving arm drag on the floor. They return to the ring and Dorada gets a sunset flip for two. Dorada goes to the top and leaps, Claudio catches him and hits a tilt a whirl backbreaker for two. Claudio gets a running uppercut and a snap mare for two. Dorada gets a surprise rollup for two and then a thrust kick, but Claudio slams him for two.
They trade blows in the corner and Dorada goes for a hurricanrana, and Claudio catches it and goes to the top. Dorada escapes and gets a tejaris. Claudio gets an uppercut and Dorada knocks him from the top and gets a shooting star press for the pin and the win.
Winner and getting three points: Mascara Dorada
We then go to a pre-tape with Tony Schiavone with the two teams going for the women’s tag team championships. Toni Storm says that she and Mina Shirakawa are partners in more than just the ring. Willow Nightingale says that she and Harley Cameron have been friends since they wrestled back in Dark three years ago. Toni says she has beaten both Willow and Harley. Harley says her three years in the business have been more successful the Mina and Toni’s Mina says enough and they will give them a fight to remember.
Tony Schiavone is in the ring to talk to Swerve Strickland and Prince Nana. He talks about how he rebuilt himself while out injured and he is the strongest baddest version of himself and he’s back to win titles. He says he is coming for the man he took the title off of last time, Samoa Joe, but he will go through everyone in the Opps to get to him. He then says he has to talk about Hangman Adam Page. They haven’t seen eye to eye, but there’s never been a greater rivalry. He then says Page is looking for someone to ride into battle beside him against the Opps on Winter in Comic.
Josh Alexander comes out and says he can’t take it anymore since all Swerve is giving lies and half-truths. He then puts over the Don Callis family and says he is the one who put Swerve out and now he wants a title shot. He puts himself over and says he deserves the title shot. He then says he and Swerve need to figure out who should get a title shot.
Swerve says they should do this in Cardiff, and says Josh should get in the ring and fight right now. The problem is, Katsuyori Shibata hits the ring from the opposite side and gets a chop block on Swerve’s recently injured leg.
Back stage, Lexi Nair asks Mercedes Mone is losing the World Championship match and losing the Ring of Honor TV Title last night? Moen says she is tired of being disrespected because she has 12 belts and she will get revenge.

Ricochet (National Champion) w/GOA vs Ace Austin
Ace gets a side headlock takeover for one. They run the ropes and neither gets an advantage until Ace gets another side headlock takeover. Ace gets a crucifix rollup pin for two. Ricochet bails from the ring. Ricochet gets back into the ring and they go back and forth until Ace gets another crucifix rollup and Ricochet bails from the ring and screams with frustration. Ricochet brings in the ring hammer, and as the ref takes it and gives it to the timekeeper, Ricochet attacks Ace, after GOA trips him. Ricochet dives onto Ace as we go to picture in picture.
When we return to full screen, Ace is throwing hands and gets whipped to the corner. Ricochet misses a leap into Ace in the corner and both men are down. Ace gets a quick series of attacks and focuses on Ricochet’s neck. Ricochet grabs the ref so he can’t see when GOA tries to attack, but Ace avoids them. Ace then gets a Doctor Bomb for two. Ricochet gets a rollup with a handful of tights for two.
Ricochet gets a standing drop-kick followed by a shooting star press for two. Ricochet misses a spirit gun and they go back and forth. Ace gets a small package for two. Ace puts Ricochet on top and hits a superplex. Ace hits a bell-ringer for two. Ace starts for the fold and the ref is pulled in the way. Ace blocks a low blow from Ricochet, but Ricochet gets a clothesline and a small package slam for the pin and the win.
Winner and still National Champion: Ricochet
After the match, FTR attacks Ace, and this brings out Austin Gunn and Juice Robinson. They knock FTR out of the ring, but the belts are left in the ring. They grab the belts and toss them at FTR.
Jon Moxley vs Konosuke Takeshita - Continental Classic Tournament match
They lock up and move to waistlocks and arm bars. Mox gets a back heel trip and stalks to the corner. They lock up again and sink to the mat and go hold for hold. They work back up to their feet and go into the ropes. They break and shove each other. Mox gets a side headlock takeover. Takeshita reveres to a head scissors and they go back and forth again. They run the ropes and try shoulder tackles back and forth until Takeshita hits a sling blade but doesn’t quite get all of it.
Mox lays in chops and Takeshita stomps his ankle. Takeshita then wraps Mox’s legs around the ring post. Takeshita then lays in blows on the floor and slams Mox’s ankle against the barricade. Mox is limping and Takeshita rolls him back into the ring. Takeshita then picks the leg and get an ankle twist that takes Mox down as we got to picture in picture.
When we return to full screen, Takeshita charges to the corner and then stops and kicks Mox’s ankle. They fight in the corner and then on the apron and Mox kicks Takeshita’s ankle and then gets a curb stomp on the apron, which I hear is the hardest part of the ring. Mox gets a back suplex, Takeshita gets a German suplex, and they both clothesline each other down.
They throw hands in the middle of the ring. They run the ropes and Mox gets a big clothesline. Mox gets a side headlock and Takeshita tries for a blue thunder bomb, and Mox reverses it into a slam. Mox grabs an ankle lock and Takeshita gets to the ropes. Mox stomps on Takeshita’s back and then moves to the apron. Takeshita gets a back body drop and tries to run the ropes, but his ankle gives out. Mox gets into the ring and Takeshita gets a forearm shot. This time Takeshita is able to get the dive onto Mox on the floor.
They brawl on the floor and Takeshita puts Mox through the announce table. Takeshita gets into the ring and the ref starts to count. Mox gets into the ring at 9 and Takeshita hits a frog splash from the top for two. Mox gets a small package for two. Mox hits a cutter. He sets for a pile driver, but Takeshita picks the ankle. Takeshita then snaps the ankle between his legs as he drops to the mat. Mox gets a big blow and flips Takeshita the bird before hitting a DDT for two and Takeshita’s foot is on the rope.
Both men struggle to get up from the ankle injuries. Mox charges into Takeshita and then hits a clothesline and a big boot Takeshita is up and Mox lays in blows, but his ankle gives way and Takeshita covers for two. Takeshita gets a V Trigger and then the raging fire for the pin and the win.
Winner and getting three points: Konosuke Takeshita.
Yuta, Claudio, Shafir, and Garcia make their way to the ring as the medical staff is checking Mox’s ankle and we’re desperately out of time.
