Why didn't Bob Backlund have a longer run with the WWE Title in 1994? I just watched Survivor Series 94 a few nights ago and between his great match with Bret Hart and his awesome promo later in the night, it's obvious some steam was still left in the character. Don't you feel that he should have been able to hold the belt longer than a few days?
Backlund was always planned to be a short-term titleholder, although the decision to go with Diesel at the time was a last minute planned attempt to recreate Hulk Hogan's defeat of the Iron Sheik in 1984, which set WWF on fire nationally. I do agree there was steam left in the character, but Backlund hadn't drawn on the house shows prior to winning the belt, so WWF likely felt he wouldn't have been strong as a top focal draw. He was more a conduit for them to get to the next big babyface at the time.
Why if Jeff Hardy never on the Canadian TV events?
Hardy is unable to currently enter Canada due to previous legal issues.
Whatever happened to Seleziya Sparx?
Sparx has been working the independent scene in Canada in recent years.
Was the old Cyber Sunday PPV voting rigged?
The voting was not rigged, but WWE certainly did try to sway the fan voting by promoting certain things on their television with the idea of making the fans want to see it We were always told at the time the votes were legitimate.
Has there been any talk of using Layla El or Michelle McCool as WWE Producers?
Not that I've heard. I've always thought it odd they've never included Layla as a legend or having her appear for cameos as she was always great in her role.
