Obviously WWE is programming the first ESPN PLE next month to screw with AEW, right?
I am sure they would say that they aren’t and that ESPN wanted the show so they gave it to them but I don’t believe for one second that the date just happened to be chosen at random. Even if it’s an “added benefit”, I don’t believe for a second that they aren’t well aware that AEW is running All Out the same day. I didn’t have much of an issue with them counter-programming AEW in the past, largely because Tony Khan had repeatedly poked the bear, but that has not been the case lately. Khan has been focusing on his product and stayed out of the fray, which I give him credit for doing. WWE is definitely the one doing the poking here.
After watching Naomi vacate the women's title on RAW (with a killer promo, btw ), How does this return story not write itself? When she comes back, she'll be able to look at whoever has the belt and legitimately say "You got something that belongs to me." I think as hot as she'd gotten herself right now, it'll be nuclear when she re-appears and wants her title back. Your thoughts?
Naomi is awesome. That promo was awesome. And yep, if it’s me, I pick right up where she left off when she comes back. She will get a pop, like she did at SummerSlam, because people appreciate how good she is. Let her get that, then go right back to calling people “heifers”. She’s fantastic.
With all the online chatter about Chris Jericho possibly making a return to WWE, is this something you'd want to see? I personally have ZERO desire to ever see him wrestle again. I feel he did some serious damage to his legacy with his last run and the "Learning Tree" nonsense. If he came back, I'd be happy with a HOF induction, a legends deal and obviously he'd be a goldmine for new interview content in whatever projects they might have in mind. All speculation, of course, until it actually happens, if it even does. How do you feel about a return and how it should play out if it were to happen?
I am with you, his run in AEW does nothing to make me want to see him wrestle any time soon. He was so hard to watch at the end of his last run. Now, if he accepts his age and were to work as an older talent that helps younger talent be elevated, that could change my mind. If he were to go back to WWE, it would have to be as a veteran who is in occasional programs. I don’t know if his ego is ready to accept that yet.
Was it just me, or did John Cena deliver an amazing promo in Dublin on Logan Paul?
It’s not just you. That wasn’t just Cena’s best promo since he returned, it was a great promo, period. I wish we would have gotten that version of Cena over the last five months and I hope we keep this version through December.
