The Trump/HHH video shown at Summerslam was reportedly booed so loudly that they had to edit out the boos on the broadcast.  Hogan was booed out of the building in his last appearance.  Tony Hinchcliffe's live Summerslam weekend show was cancelled due to poor ticket sales.  With WWE including increasingly more political content as part of their programming, should they be taking these examples as a sign to be wary of including too much right-leaning political content in their programming?  Is there a risk of WWE alienating a good portion of their fanbase if this trend continues?  I for one was a massive UFC fan up until they decided to go all in with the right wing, and am really hoping WWE does not force me to become less of a fan for that same reason.

I think they should definitely be cognizant of the reactions of fans when they venture into political areas, for sure.  Will they?  Well, as you said it hasn’t stopped Dana White and The UFC.  But to your point, when people turn to escapist entertainment, it’s often because they want to escape from things like politics.

What is your opinion on the following to wrestlers in terms of when they are compared to Mount Rushmore wrestlers like the Rock or Stone Cold or Hulk Hogan or Ric Flair, John Cena and Brock Lesnar?

Of those I would have to put Flair, Hogan, Rock and Austin on and leave Cena and Lesnar off, and it’s not a hard decision.

As of today, who would you rank higher on your Mount Rushmore of wrestlers Roman reigns or John Cena?

I would go with Reigns for two reasons.  The first is financial.  His work during The Bloodline drama was off the charts and it also coincided with WWE getting record rights fees deals and gates.  The second is what both did in the ring.  I have a lot of respect for Cena but Reigns is superior between the ropes.

What do you think about Dana White’s recent comments saying that independent wrestlers (who perform in worked matches aiming to mitigate legit injury as much as possible) should instead get into slap fighting (a shoot “sport” that directly invites CTE)?

I think it’s as ridiculous as his insipid slap fighting “sport”.  But that’s Dana White, loud and over the top.  It has gotten him this far, I don’t think he will change any time soon.
