TRIPLE H’S BOOKING, PLES LEAVING PEACOCK, THE ROLLINS WORK AND MORE

I’ve been out of the country and caught up on your FMBs on the flight back. I listened to your thoughts/concerns regarding the WWE booking as of late, and I agree with what y’all said. You mentioned burn out as a possibility. I’m wondering- do you think any of this could be the result of pressure by The Rock and his people?  I can see Rock, long term,  trying to take over (especially if his movie career continues to be in the downward slope it’s been since Black Adam). Could HHH be booking this way to either appease or hold off Rocky?  Or maybe yo say “look, we used Rock’s ideas, look where it’s led”?  In my professional career, I’ve been in that position where you can sense a bit of a takeover attempt, and it’s hard to navigate that for sure. At the level these guys’ve at, the pressure must be enormous.

I guess it’s possible but I have no information to state that as fact.  It could also be feeling pressure to deliver when houses and ratings aren’t growing anymore.  Or it could be he is getting burned out, which happens to most bookers at some time.  It could be having to integrate John Cena into the programming.  Or it could be a combination of things.  I can’t really say but since the Elimination Chamber, the booking has slipped.

So Seth Rollins' injury was a work, and a darn good one I might add. But why does everyone assume that H lied to the guys in the back and the other wrestlers? Could not at least those involved in the storyline have been in on it and were just playing along to fool us? Or do you know for a fact that persons were unaware?

I know some people who were led to believe that Rollins was really hurt.  It still could be that he was hurt but it ended up it wasn’t as bad as he feared.  I doubt Rollins or HHH will let us know the truth any time soon.

Plus what's the big deal? I wouldn't feel offended if I wasn't told. Isn't it understandable that nowadays if you want to keep a secret, you really need to keep the circle as small as possible, on a need to know basis. It only takes one person to slip.

Here’s the thing, in theory you are right.  But, Triple H had not done something like that before so it’s understandable that the first time the talent could be irked by being worked.  If it happens again?  Now?  I would expect it if I worked there as my perception of how he does business would have changed.

How do you think Netflix and Peacock will respond to ESPN taking over WWE PLEs?  Will this affect Saturday Night’s Main Event or any other programming (Taking into account that they are under contract)?

It won’t affect SNME since they have a contract for that.  They also will have the NBA and are raising their prices so it seems to me like they were glad to trade PLEs for The NBA.

As I write this I don’t know what will happen to the library on Peacock, but with the loss of the PLE’s do you think maybe to offset some loss of subscribers NBCU could simulcast Smackdown every week on Peacock/USA?  Kind of like what they do with Saturday Nights Main Event.

I don’t know if NBCU can simulcast Smackdown (I am not sure what the contract says).  But as I said above, they have the NBA coming so I believe they are fine with the trade off.
