Why does the ESPN press release say its the first-ever WrestlePalooza. We all know that's trash. It's not even the first PPV with that name!
Well, they are can argue its the first WWE WrestlePalooza and they would be right, but it is silly to ignore the history, especially when the 1997 edition from ECW featured one of the best hours of TV the promotion ever produced. But, WWE and ESPN are promoting the now, not the then.\
They say Cena is facing someone he hasn't wrestled in a decade - Chris Jericho?
No. Jericho is under an AEW deal. It will be Brock Lesnar.
So, you said in a mailbag answer that All In would be at Wembley Stadium next year. Is that a good idea? We're a week away from Forbidden Door and they haven't sold that out, and the O2 holds 17k. If AEW holds a Wembley show and 30-35k show up, the optics will be terrible. Wouldn't Craven Cottage, home of Fulham FC (a soccer team which Tony's dad owns btw) at ~40k be a better bet?
It all depends on what AEW wants and my gut feeling is they would want the prestige of running Wembley Stadium.
Any update on Xfinity and PLE/WWE ??
According to ESPN, not yet. Stay tuned.
I was surprised there was no live coverage of NWA 77 since it was basically right outside of NYC. Why not?
I can only go into someone's building and set up to do coverage if they want me to do it. The promotion feels they don't want live coverage of their TV tapings so they don't spoil their broadcasts on The Roku Channel. So, while I was invited to attend, they didn't want live, ongoing coverage. That's their decision and I have to respect that.
