WHAT DID THE ROLLINS’ WORK ACTUALLY MEAN TO THE STORY, CENA’S HEEL TURN OR MAE YOUNG’S HAND, WWE ON ESPN AND MORE

Which was worse?  Giving birth to a hand, or Cena's "heel turn"?

I would say giving birth to the hand, because it was atrocious, but it was in a midcard program and it was one moment.  So, I will go with Cena's turn because it was the top program and it went on way too long!

So, what exactly was the point of the worked Seth Rollins injury storyline? When he appeared after Punk beat Gunther, would the moment have been any different without the fake out of the injury? He could still have run to the ring, beaten up Punk with the briefcase, cashed in then won. All seems so pointless to have done the fake injury.

I agree with you 100 percent.  The fake out didn’t add much to the story to me either.  It seemed to be done just to work a small group of fans.  It’s possible they did it for the second season of WWE Unreal, but even if so, it didn’t add much to the story for me.  It felt like a Vince Russo SWERVE to me.

Netflix question. On one of your FMBs a few months ago you were talking about Netflix- are they happy with WWE’s numbers thus far, etc. You said that the fate of the PLEs may provide a clue: if they made a push to get those rights it would show they were positive about the deal and so forth. With the ESPN news, would you read Netflix’s stance into that? I’ve been very curious on how these streaming networks are feeling right now (same with AEW).  Can you see ESPN taking over the streaming rights after Netflix finishes their contract?  For me, selfishly, I’d rather everything be on one place but I know financially it’s probably better for them to have it spread out a bit.

I haven’t heard if Netflix made an offer for the US PLE rights but I have heard some of their executives say that they are very happy with WWE.  It could be that they made an offer and Disney topped it.  One thing we know for sure is that Netflix has at least four years left on their deal, with the right to add five more.  The way things move in entertainment there is no way I can project down the road like that.  Four years ago would we have predicted that they would be on ESPN and Netflix?  The business moves quickly.

Just looking your opinion and foresight. Do you see the $30 a month ESPN DTC service being tiered when it comes to WWE (and other things)? Like Dave, I use YouTube TV during the NFL season and largely use the RedZone channel on Sundays. RedZone and other lesser-sports channels are almost always an additional monthly cost. Now, it sounds like having YouTube TV will allow me to use this new ESPN app for RedZone and, eventually, WWE events, at no additional expense. It’ll certainly be interesting to see how this plays out!

The way it’s being presented now is as you stated.  I really hope it stays that way.  I think a lot of people would love to get the PLEs and Red Zone at no extra cost as part of their cable/streaming package.
