PRICING FOR WWE CONTENT ON ESPN, WHAT IS AND IS NOT INCLUDED

By Mike Johnson on 2025-08-06 13:40:00

There's been some confusion about WWE once it moves to ESPN's new platform in 2026.

Based on emails we have received, here is a breakdown:

PRICING

All accounts are that ESPN's service will cost $29.99 a month ($299.99 a year) with the WWE events will be included in that cost.  It will not be a case of paying for ESPN and then paying an additional fee, as ESPN+ users currently do for UFC PPV events.

ESPN has also stated on their website that those who have ESPN via their cable services would be able to log into the service using credentials from their cable subscription.  Their official verbiage - "Yes. ESPN will continue to be distributed via Pay TV providers. Pay TV subscribers will have access to the enhanced features within the ESPN App via their Pay TV subscriptions."

How that would work and whether it would include the WWE events remains to be seen.

WHAT IS INCLUDED

There will be ten WWE PPVs (or PLEs, if that is your poison) included as well as potentially the pre-show and post-show broadcasts.

Some of the WWE events will also air on ESPN's linear channel (cable, etc.) but which of those events are won't be announced anytime soon.

WHAT IS NOT INCLUDED

The deal does not include (as of now) WWE NXT events, AAA events or the WWE Network archive content (ECW, World Class, WCW libraries, etc.)

It is entirely possible WWE will attempt to strike deals for the aforementioned content with Peacock, Netflix or another service.

They were not announced as part of the ESPN deal.

Domestically, NXT events and the Network are currently with Peacock.  Internationally, NXT PPVs air on Netflix.

AAA live events are currently streaming on YouTube.    WWE has yet to close the final deal to purchase that promotion and likely would not license it out until the deal is finalized.

WWE has begun adding material from their WWE and WCW libraries to "Vault' YouTube channels with plans to add ECW and potentially other channels down the line, so it may be that is where what had been available on the WWE Network migrates, but we will have to wait to see what happens with that content as the existing Peacock deal winds down.
