BROOKE HOGAN EXPLAINS WHY SHE REMOVED HERSELF FROM HULK HOGAN'S WILL, WISHES SHE HAD BEEN LEFT IN CHARGE OF HIS INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

By Mike Johnson on 2025-08-05 15:45:00

Hulk Hogan's daughter Brooke Hogan called into Bubba the Love Sponge's radio show this morning, discussng her father's passing and her relationship with Hogan.

During the nearly hour-long conversation, Brooke explained that she and her father had been estranged for the last two years of his life and were not on speaking terms at the time of his death.   Despite the family’s fractured relationships, Brooke stated she made a conscious decision back in 2023 to have herself removed from Hogan’s will, a move she said was made to protect herself, her husband, and their young children from what she anticipated would be a chaotic and possibly dangerous battle over the estate with Hogan's wife Skye and her own mother, Linda Hogan.

“Money didn’t matter, Brooke said.  “I was sobbing when I wrote the text to Terry McCoy, the guy that manages his money.  I just said, ‘Take me off everything, I don’t want to be a part of it.’”

Brooke cited concerns about her father’s third wife, Sky Daily, and her past ties to the Church of Scientology as one of the reasons for her decision. While Brooke noted she never had any personal issues with Daily, she feared potential conflicts involving the church if estate matters turned litigious.

“She was always nice to me. I have no problem with Sky,” Brooke said. “But, if she was a Scientologist… I know that’s a very powerful backing… I don’t want to fight Scientology. I don’t want somebody that I love to get knocked off. I don’t know how deep this stuff goes. It scared me, and I just said, ‘I want out.’”

In addition to avoiding any entanglements with Scientology, Brooke stated she did not want to enter into legal conflict with her mother, Linda Hogan, from whom she is also estranged.  Brooke emphasized that her choice was made out of a desire for peace, not greed. She will receive a modest sum from a small life insurance trust, which she plans to put toward her children’s college funds. Brooke and her husband, former NHL player Steven Oleksy, welcomed twin children earlier this year.

Reflecting on her relationship with her father, Brooke shared that Hogan did not attend her 2022 wedding and refused to walk her down the aisle, stating that he “doesn’t do weddings or funerals” and "didn't want to leave the beach."   Hogan gave them his blessing but did not want to attend.

Noting that she is excluded from managing her father’s intellectual property, Brooke hoped his legacy will be treated with the respect and reverence it deserves.

“I had hoped that my dad at least trusted me with his IP, like his intellectual property and his trademarks,” she commented. “I would have made him an Elvis legacy, or a Marilyn Monroe legacy… I just know that the people around him are pretty shady and not in his best interest.”

The conversation including Bubba revealing that Hulk himself wrote the letter to Brooke announcing she had been released from her recording contract, citing that Hulk was upset with who Brooke was involved with romantically at the time.  Brooke noted she recently reconnected and signed once again with Sobe Entertainment.

Brooke also revealed that her father knew Bubba the Love Sponge was not responsible for the Hogan sex tape leaking and she even questioned him at the time as to why he didn't just go after the person who was extorting him, not Bubba as well, but Hulk didn't agree with those wishes.

Brooke also spoke a lot about Hogan's health issues, including the Afib of his heart, and referenced Hogan having a heart valve replacement surgery.  She also questioned that if her father was battling leukemia and had the high white blood count that came with it, why did he undergo the neck fusion surgery.  She noted that she felt there was no one around her father to tell him to just sit down and relax and instead, others were around him to make sure they got paid.  She talked in great details about being with and protecting her father through 25 surgeries and felt the most recent surgery shouldn't have been the one to "take him out" and that she believed her father could have lived into his 80s.

Brooke noted she has not one thing from her father's career and wonders where his memorabilia that is displayed in shops will end up, citing that she had asked him to just have replicas made instead of displaying the actual items.  She said she does not have one thing from her father's career to one day share with her children.
