The sports teams suck…oh, wait - they don’t have any sports teams in Rhode Island. Ryan sees nothing but ugly people in the crowd. The Nemeths are attractive and hot. Ryan tries to start a “Rhode Island Sucks” chant, but no one is into it.
The Home Town Man makes his way to the ring. He doesn’t appreciate The Nemeths talking about his hometown. The people in Rhode Island aren’t ugly…they are beautiful. Mike Santana makes his way through the crowd and stops on the steps with a microphone. Santana says that the eyes of the wrestling world were locked on Slammiversary. Santana lost. Santana had his family, city, and culture on his back…and he lost. Santana has been to the bottom before and has been so low in his life that he looked the devil in his face…but he fought. Santana lost his father…and fought. Santana bet on himself and was doubted…but he fought. Santana starts making his way to the ring.
Santana gets emotional and says that one of the hardest things that he had to deal with was watching his daughter cry after his loss. He knew he had to be a father and comfort her. When Santana told her everything would be OK, she said, “I know because you’re going to get ‘em next time!” Santana gets on the apron and says that the thirty minute drive back home was quiet. When they got home, though, he made a promise to his daughter and he’s making that promise tonight. Santana gets into the ring. Ali says that this is why no one believes in Hendry. Everything to Hendry is a joke. Ali wishes that he could say Hendry’s name and he could disappear. Hendry challenges Ali to a match tonight. Ali says “no.” Ali says that they’ll do it next week because he wants to give Hendry and the fans time to prepare for something “truly to believe in.” Hendry says that next week, the fans will be chanting “We Believe!”
Tom Hannifan conducted an interview with Sami Callihan earlier in the week. Hannifan says that a lot of people are worried about Callihan. Callihan says he hasn’t been the same since breaking his leg. Callihan gained sixty pounds and has always struggled with weight. Callihan struggled with bulimia for a while. People calling Callihan fat isn’t new. Maybe Callihan is just a fat piece of (bleep). Callihan works backstage and loves TNA. Being in front of the camera may be a disservice to the company. Hannifan asks Callihan if he’s about to retire. Callihan says that there’s one thing to do - does he have or not? Callihan wants a match against Mike Santana at Emergence to see if still has it.
