By Cory Strode on 2025-07-30 22:19:00

It’s Wednesday and AEW Dynamite is live from Chicago, IL at the Byline Bank Aragon Ballroom. Our commentary team is Excalibur, Tony Schiavone, and Taz.

We start with a rundown of tonight’s card and then a video to hype the World Title Main Event.

The Outrunners (Truth Magnum and Turbo Floyd) vs The Already In The Ring The Young Bucks (Matt and Nick Jackson) -Tag Team Tournament Match

The Bucks name on the screen bug was “Talent Name”.  They complain through their entire pre-show promo.

Nick and Truth start by running the ropes and it doesn’t take long before everyone is in the ring. The Outrunners get back body drops and then in the corner of the Bucks. An atomic drop and a double noggin knocker before they are tossed to the floor. The Outrunners are tossed to the floor and then dive onto the Outrunners. They roll Turbo into the ring and start to work him over. Matt cannot suplex Turbo so he tags in Nick to do so.

The Bucks team up to suplex Turbo, but he reverses it and tags in Truth, who hands out drop-kicks. The Bucks are able to start double Truth and then Matt is able to take out Turbo on the floor as we go to picture in picture.

When we return to full screen, Truth has been the babyface in peril through the break. They also keep Turbo from getting the tag with attacks on him on the floor. Truth finally gets the hot tag and Turbo runs wild. When the Outrunners go to the double bicep drop, Nick superkicks them apart. Turbo is able to get a bulldog clothesline on both Bucks.

The Bucks get super kicks on Turbo, but he fires back with a double clothesline and then hits the double biceps drop on Matt. Truth tags in and the Bucks toss Turbo and then works over Truth with a series of kicks for two. Matt misses a super kick and almost hits the ref, allowing Truth to get a rollup for two. Matt gets a low blow while talking to the ref, but the ref knocks Matt over Truth who rolls up for two.

Winners and moving on in the tournament: The Young Bucks

Kazuchika Okada comes to the ring and all three attack the Outrunners. This does not take long to bring out Swerve Strickland who saunters to the ring. The Outrunners toss the Bucks and Okada gets bounced back and forth by the Outrunners and Swerve. The Bucks pull Okada out of the ring before Swerve hits the House Call, so Swerve dives onto all three of them.

Renee Paquette is with Mark Briscoe and he asks where MJF is. Ricochet and GOA show up and tell him to shut up and worry about Ricochet tonight. Mark says he will beat Ricochet’s ass and then go after MJF.

Shelton then says that the watch MJF gave him was from Temu, and they have been onto him the whole time. He tells MJF to leave before they beat him down right here and he is out of the Hurt Syndicate.

Tony Schiavone is in the ring with Christian Cage. He talks about how he is an asshole, but then he became an asshole with feelings. He says that Nick Wayne and Kip Sabian were not good enough to question him, and he didn't think they were good enough to pull off the plan he had. He then tells Adam Copeland about the things he has said and then asks if they were really that bad. He says Adam did some unsavory things on his climb to the top. Cage says Adam told him to go find himself. Maybe he did and maybe he didn’t.

He says the Patriarchy embarrassed him and he throws a crude insult at Mother Wayne. He says Nick and Kip are coming from a sense of entitlement they took from him. He then says that Nick has more talent than he does, and now he says he is the new face of AEW. But he will have to go through Cage to do so. He then disowns Nick and Kip. Great promo to set the table for what is to come.

As Cage leaves, Mother Wayne. Cage sees Kip coming up behind him, but that allows Nick to attack him with his Ring of Honor title belt. Nick and Kip then hit a standing Con-Chair-To on Cage.

In the back, Stoke is with FTR and he threatens everyone they have issues with. The Bucks show up and FTR says they will put the past in the past and hope to see them in the tournament. Stoke asks if they are the bosses, and Stoke yells in their faces.
