Where is Eddie Kingston?
He is still rehabbing his injuries and working towards his AEW return. He always said this summer, but there's no perfect timeline for a recovery. Each person's recovery is unique.
What is the long-term goal for companies like Maple Leaf Pro and Sukeban? Both companies use talent contracted to other companies/freelancers, and I can't imagine AEW, TNA, NJPW or Stardom playing nice and allowing MLP/Sukeban to continue to use their talent if they get TV/media deals. But that's where the real money is, and gates and YouTube and TikTok only generate so much revenue. What is the point then? If they get ever get big enough to stand on their own, they'll just get the rug pulled out from under them.
They are trying to build their brands to get larger exposure and bigger deals. Unless you are someone with the resources and connections that Tony Khan had launching AEW in 2019, this is how smaller groups start out. If and when they get larger deals, I am sure that some of the working agreements will come to an end, but for right now, that's where things stand. The point is to make money. If they can generate more money than they are putting out to produce the shows, they are accomplishing their goals. Not everyone has to be on a global scale to be successful. For every Coca-Cola, there's a Snapple.
Is Steve Blackman under a WWE Legends deal? He's getting an action figure made and is included in the WWE Slam mobile game.
I've asked around and haven't gotten a confirmation on a Legends deal. It's possible, but it's just as possible he signed a short-term licensing deal.
I think i asked this at the time, but am curious if any other info was available. Was Punk vs Eddie Kingston literally only planned as a one month-ish feud? Was there a plan to come back to it down the line? It just felt like a natural conclusion was never reached for it. They then just rushed into the MJF feud...which at the start just felt like it was started for the sake of it
It obviously wasn't planned as something AEW was going back to, or they would have immediately. I am sure the idea was to leave it out there and play off it down the line, but real life circumstances and injuries prevented them from getting there.
Is Austin Theory actually injured or is this part of a storyline?
My feeling is storyline but I haven't heard either way as of this writing.
