I have noticed a ton of multi man matches across all promotions recently- especially AEW. Do you think this a product of over bloated rosters? I think all of these multi man matches dilute character development when they happen so often.
I think that just as three-way matches went from unique to commonplace, the same happened with multi-man, Scramble, etc. matches. It was just something that everyone began using as a booking device that went from original to run of the mill.
Who owns the rights to the "Cactus Jack" moniker, Mick Foley, or Travis Scott? Obviously Foley has been using the name in the wrestling space for decades, but Scott is the far bigger mainstream star nowadays, so how does one get around using the name if it is trademarked by the other?
Mick Foley had the original trademark, but it's possibly it lapsed. Remember owning it in one genre doesn't mean you own it in all. There's a restaurant chain titled "Cactus Jack's" as well. One would hope that the Travis Scott stuff being sold on WWE programming meant Mick Foley got a royalty!
The question about AEW at the 2300 Arena got me thinking, I was watching a Nitro from Philly a few months ago and the ECW Arena Hat Guy was four or five rows back on the floor. But how did he always get that front seat? Also, do you know how he is? If you're in contact with him tell him pass along my regards.
That is John Bailey, a super nice guy who has been a fan for decades and sometimes even does managing on the independent scene in Delaware and PA. ECW used to sell "Club ECW" tickets to fans for four shows in a row to make sure that they could get the same seats. John also had a good relationship with the company and volunteered to rip tickets at the door in Philly, so I am sure that obviously helped as well. I haven't seen him in some time, but he's a good guy.
I could be totally wrong, but I can't see John Cena wrestling his last match as a heel. Neither can I imagine him changing as long as he holds the title. So with that in mind, when do you think Cena will lose the championship? What can he do to rehabilitate his image and reputation? Or, do you disagree? If yes, why? Thanks for your opinion
I am with you and I don't think the heel turn has done much to reinvigorate Cena or WWE. My feeling is he ends up a babyface by the end. The right time for him to lose the belt is this weekend at Summerslam, but we'll see.
