It was me or several members of the roster weren't that afflicted. Jimmy Hart was heartbroken, but I have seen more emotion on tributes to Bray Wyatt or Eddie Guerrero.
The men you mentioned were active wrestlers and peers of the other talents. It would stand to reason that they would be far more emotional about their passing than they would someone like Hogan, who they weren’t close to and was from another era.
Dave, I think we can all agree there were several years of Terry Bollea's life that were ugly ones - to say the least. That said, when looking back on his life and career, it's impossible not to recognize what he did contribute when growing the wrestling industry, and his place, from a business standpoint, as the most important in-ring figure in North American wrestling history. That said, in your own words, you recently stated you "loathe" Hogan, and your reasons were definitely understandable. However, given your place within wrestling journalism, can you tell us what you personally consider to be good points regarding Hogan's career? Thank you and out of respect to his family and loved ones, RIP Terry Bollea, Hulk Hogan.
I loathed the person who played the character of Hulk Hogan because he was caught being a racist and instead of addressing that and becoming a better human being, he went the other way. To me, racists are among the lowest form of human life. With that said, it’s impossible not to see how important was to the business and its growth. He was THE guy at the time when things exploded. That can’t ever be taken away from him.
I’m currently watching the “Story of Taz vs Sabu Barely Legal” on the WWE Vault YouTube channel. I’m quite surprised that there’s unedited footage in there with KISS, Rob Zombie and other music playing. Are there different “rules” for uploading content to a platform like YouTube? Or should I just enjoy it and not mention it again so it doesn’t noticed and taken down/edited?
I honestly do not know the legality of YouTube but since it’s owned by Google, if that content stays up it would lead me to believe that it is allowed to be used.
Do you think it helps or hurts TNA with NXT wrestlers winning their top prizes?
It surely helps TNA financially as the WWE deal is lucrative to them. From a perception standpoint? I agree that TNA risks looks like a secondary promotion to NXT if their talents can’t win back their Titles.
I understand it’s probably the networks call, but this constant censoring on NXT is becoming ridiculous. Virtually all of Ethan Pages promo on Tuesday was nothing but silence. Is there any solution to stop the constant censoring?
The network has no choice. They are a broadcast entity and they have to censor the swearing. I guess WWE could ask the fans to stop swearing but I don’t think that they would listen. It’s a shame but I guess the fans figure that with the prices that they are paying they can do what they want.
