GOLDBERG INJURED IN RETIREMENT MATCH, WWE LATE NIGHT CANCELLATION, CLASSIC WWE TOY LINE BEING REVIVED AND MORE

As we noted last night, the WWE Late Night event set for next weekend's Summerslam festivities has been canceled.  If you ordered tickets, they will be refunded at the place of purchase.  One WWE source noted that when they did a similar event as a WWE Roast in Las Vegas, it geographically was easier for fans to get to the event and New Jersey didn't provide the same ease, so they felt that was a factor.  They also noted that the first ever featured Paul Heyman stealing the show and noted perhaps without Heyman, the event didn't have the same "sort of anticipation" that the Wrestlemania Roast brought with Heyman's involvement.

Bill Goldberg revealed on the latest edition of his Carcast podcast that he suffered a broken hand while wrestling GUNTHER during his Saturday Night's Main Event retirement match:

Revealed at the San Diego Comic-Con by Mattel was the return of the old LJN Style WWE action figures with both classic and new figures being released.  They will also be releasing an AWA-era Curt Hennig figure, complete with AWA World title belt as well as a Piper's Pit three-pack featuring Roddy Piper, Bob Orton and Paul Orndorff dressed in Wrestlemania 1-era outfits alongside a Piper's Pit set.  You can pre-order all of these from RingsideCollectibles.com.
