Has there been any word on TNA getting more action figures?
Nothing that I've heard on my end.
Dave Scherer always says he likes storyline based wrestling and doesn't like wrestling matches that are "just" wrestling matches. What about you?
I have often defined pro wrestling as whatever draws people to pay to see it. I enjoy all styles. My favorite stuff of all time was Jim Crockett Promotions, Memphis and ECW. There's a lot of different stuff that happened in all of those promotions. Awesome promos, great angles, brawls, good wrestling, great athletics, lots of emotional stuff. There's a lot of top WWE stuff I enjoy right now. When AEW hits right in the ring, it's great. I am happy to see TNA finding itself. I love the work ethic of a fun independent show in an intimate venue. I've been to death match tournaments and I can appreciate the sheer level of toughness and insanity involved. I've appreciated everyone from John Studd to Terry Funk to Jushin Liger to Swoggle for what they've brought to wrestling. Some promotions are about building to matches and moments, some are about making it all about what you do in the ring with everything else secondardy. Some are about young talents finding themselves. Some are about fighting spirit. Some are based around the emotions that come with facial expressions and dramatic near falls. There's merit in all of it. To me, if you can make the crowd happy and take them on a ride, to me its immaterial as to what the style is or who's in the ring. The ends justify the means as a viewer. We can debate the merits and argue what makes money is what's best, but in music and movies, the best artists aren't always the ones selling out stadiums, not for every fan of those genres. Similarly, everyone is going to look at pro wrestling from a different perspective, no different than looking at a piece or art or theater. If pro wrestling makes you happy, that's all that's important in my mind. If I think something was great and you think it sucked (or vice versa), hey, that's OK. If you invested the time in watching something, you have every right to feel how you want.
How long before WWE brings back Vince McMahon as a character?
I really don't see that happening. I'll never be shocked and I expect one day, he'll show up once the Janel Grant stuff is settled in court, but as a regular character? No. That I don't see.
I haven't seen WWE announce a MSG return - could it be that John Cena retires without wrestling one more time in the WWE's most famous venue?
They usually run there 12/26. That could be the date, unless Cena's retirement match in Boston is before that time. We'll see. It may be that the WWE tour schedule doesn't run in alignment with Cena's farewell run. He could always make an appearance in a non-wrestling role down the line and give NYC fans a farewell that way - or he would just feel a Barclays Center appearance would fill that need/want.
I saw you post that photo of Mikey Whipwreck and Mick Foley. Why isn't anyone using Whipwreck as an agent?
I don't know that it's something Mikey wants to do. He pretty much moved to a quiet place in PA to raise his family and enjoy life. I've never heard he'd want to travel every week for pro wrestling again. He's regularly turned down indy bookings for some time.
