TWE Chattanooga “The Night Before: Red Bank Roulette”
7/17/25 Red Bank, TN

Scenic City Invitational 2025 Weekend kicks off tonight with a mystery card show that promises TWE stars of the past, present, and future for the crowd tonight. I know some names who have made it to town already, so I have a few hopes for tonight…

Scott Hensley is out here to announce the show! Matchmaker CJ Lawler is out here to hype up the pure random madness of tonight’s card!

Match 1: Coven of the Goat (Jaden Newman & Tank w/ The Reverend) vs. Erron Wade & Mad Dog Connolly (Texas Tornado Tag Match)

Erron Wade is the TWE champ now?!?

Wild. Wade and Mad Dog are a wild alliance. Of course, this brawl starts on the floor and maybe I missed a no-DQ aspect to this, but the chairs are swinging immediately. Tank grabs a door from the back, but Connolly starts heaving metal at his opponents’ heads. This is awesome feral energy to start the night. Connolly uses his trademark chair to bust open Tank. Tank hits a headbutt that we HEAR. Gawwwwd. Wade is a bloody mess as Tank hits a Saito through that door. We finally make it into the ring as Erron Wade’s students start trying to interfere, but they are useless. Connolly hits the floor as Wade eats a flying knee/side Russian combo for the win. Coven of the GOAT stands tall as they stretch out the TWE champ and beat him with a barbed wire crutch, forcing the students to watch what happens when you f*** with the Rev.

We take a moment to change out the canvas for something less… soaked in blood.

Match 2: Lizzie Blair vs. Sean Christopher vs. Shimbashi vs. Jordan Stryker vs. Country Boy Coots vs. Skunk Rocker (What in Tarnation Incarnation Elimination Scramble)

Stipulation 1: Reverse Battle Royal - everyone slides out and tries to get back in there. Lizzie doesn’t make it and is out.

Stipulation 2: If someone dives, they are eliminated. Stryker immediately dives and is out.

Stip 3: No moves off the top.

Shimbashi destroys Scott with a package DDT for the three. I guess that counts too?!?

Stip 4: No moves off the middle too.

Shimbashi, Coots, and Christopher are left. Sean Christopher makes a mistake and bounces off the middle rope and eliminates himself!

Stip 5: The ropes are lava!

Several near misses with the ropes. Coots just starts slamming Shimbashi. He sets up a DDT, but Shimbashi shoves him back into the ropes for the win! This was a sprint of chaos. Loved it.

Match 3: Pha’Nesse (c) vs. Tommy Davis (TWE Gig City Championship – 5 min time limit / no champion’s advantage)

Very fast scrambling and quick pin attempts. Davis tries to chop his way to a championship. Pha’Nesse sets up a scissor kick but whiffs and almost loses to a crucifix. We get to the slow exchange of chops and forearms as the four-minute mark passes. We get a double down at the 30-second mark. They both barely make it to their feet as time expires. This was rough. After that first minute, it seemed like they forgot they’re under the gun, and the imperative to win was sort of lost. Davis wants a rematch but… eh?

Match 4: Gary Jay vs. Aiden Wright (KO or Tapout Match)

Aiden ambushes Jay on the ramp with a German in the wood. Gary dodges and Aiden clunks into the support beam but picks up Gary for an apron bomb. Gary Jay lands a hard elbow and keeps connecting – Aiden is sent out to the concrete and he is OUT. The energy here has picked way up. We love some Gary Jay.

Oh good, it’s Dylan Hales. As former matchmaker of TWE, he’s watching “incompetent leadership” ruin this show. He’s got Tim Bosby training for tomorrow night. He plans to win the whole thing and take the SCI trophy away forever.

Match 5: Sean Campbell vs. Darien Bengston (Falls Count Anywhere)

Yoooooooo. Sean rolls right out… Bengston does not want to start in the concrete. He wants to take Campbell to the pretzel factory. The open salvos are fast and smooth, but Campbell is actually putting Bengston on the defensive in what should be HIS yard. Campbell trying to pin him on everything: the apron, the wall, the ramp, Val Pancakes. Darien is having a bad time and unloads a thudding chop that seems to contain every bit of damage he’s endured. Bengston wants to get this back into the ring, but he eats that support post. Campbell tries to send him off the apron into some of these hard wood chairs… but Bengston rolls him back into the ring, packages Sean up and sinks in the package cattle mutilation for the tapout. This was a blast.

Match 6: Crashpad vs. OXP (Martial Arts Rules Match: You must win with a martial arts move)

Crashpad is one of Erron Wade’s little knuckleheads. OXP shows off an incredible kick. Crashpad wants the first shot. It’s terrible. OXP cracks him hard. Crashpad decides he’d prefer to wrestle. OXP hits a wicked combo to the legs, chest, and throat. Running drive-by dropkick! Wade’s other student starts to interfere and gives Crashpad the advantage. Crashpad seems to forget that he needs to be doing martial arts moves to win here. OXP gets sick of this nonsense and scares the student away with a firm foot to the face. Crashpad off the top, but OXP hits a sidekick! One more flying kick drops Crashpad for the three! This was sick. Who in the HELL is OXP?!? I want to see MORE!

(I’m told OXP is a Darien Bengston student who was also a stunt double on Cobra Kai. Wowwww)

Match 7: Brett Ison vs. The Wall Tyler Stevens (Over the Top Rope Challenge)

This is a cool thing to see. “WHERE YOU BEEN???” yells Stevens to the KOBK king. This is two big men hitting each other as hard as they can. Stevens is almost sent flying several times. Meaty men are chopping that meat until they stumble and clothesline each other for the double down. They go back to the fight and Stevens with a blatant low kick… technically legal! They battle to the corner… Ison is sent over the ropes but he headscissors The Wall and sends Tyler to the floor first! The Pitbull of KOBK wins this stiff contest!

Match 8: 8-person Tag w/ Dodgeball Pick Rules

Team captains are out first: Jameson Shook & Hunter Drake. Who will they pick for their squads?

The options are: Payton Blair, Ravenna Vein, Mortar, Matt Griffin, Bella Skye & Cousin Condry.

Team Hunter: Matt Griffin, Ravenna Vein, Condry
Team Shook: Mortar, Payton Blair, Bella Skye

Matt Griffin confidently tags himself in and bullies Bella. A quick headscissor and some big kicks send the King of Georgia into the wrong corner for some hard chops from everyone. Payton eats a side Russian and is made a punching bag in the Team Hunter corner. Vein eats a desperate spear, Payton gets Mortar in there! Mortar runs wild on concrete and almost secures the win before Drake breaks up the pin! Mortar with a press slam to the floor! Matt wants a piece?!? Mortar hits a lionsault on the kingpin! Lots of chaos as everyone is trying to put a pin in this. Matt looks to be getting killed by Shook, but Drake slides in for the rollup and gets the three. Boooooo! Loved the chaos of this.

The main event is announced as a world title match… but who is defending that is here???

Main Event: 1 CALLED MANDERS (c) vs. Kasey Owens (for the WxW Unified World Championship)

Manders calls his challenger “Little Kasey.” The size difference is CLEAR in this. Kasey might be able to match strength with the Cornbelt Cowboy, but Manders is just raw size as he bowls Owens over. Manders tweaks his knee and Owens laser-focuses on that limb. This makes Manders mad, who fires back with infinite chops and a gutwrench bomb for two! Kasey tries to set up a superplex, but Manders hits a powerslam from the second! Manders with an Undertaker sit-up. He looks MAD. He and Kasey light each other up! Manders goes for the Stampede, but Owens grabs the leg! He’s trying to rip it off! Manders bites free of Owens’ grip! Northern lariat from the cowboy! Owens with a flying headbutt! This is anyone’s match! Manders with a ripcord lariat! Kick out! A second one! Kick out! Kasey Owens struggles to his feet and Manders meets him with a third lariat that puts his challenger down for the three, finally. Excellent match to close this show!

Manders, a former SCI winner himself, puts Owens’ toughness over and thinks he has a real shot at the trophy this weekend… so he better not mess this up.
