WWE Hall of Famer Bill Goldberg appeared on The Ariel Helwani Show this week and noted he was "pissed off" about the way parts of his WWE retirement match build went.
Goldberg noted, "Let’s just say I’m pissed off at the way I went out, because I put so much into it. I don’t feel as though the effort was reciprocated to put a stamp on what I’ve accomplished. Again, I’m not going to say that I’m not ecstatic with the opportunity that I got. I think it could have been done a little bit differently. That’s all. I’m happy with my performance. I’m happy with the setting but, could it have been better? Absolutely, it can always be better.”
While making sure to point out he was "honored" to work with GUNTHER, the former WCW and WWE World Champion noted he wished he had more "time and space" for the build, which was only several weeks long. Goldberg said he wished it could have been built from January until the match.
Goldberg also noted he wished the match had been on a PPV, noting they cut him off during his retirement speech after "20 seconds." WWE went off the air on NBC during the speech, but did release the entire speech online via their YouTube channel.
Goldberg noted he'd have more to say in a few weeks. When asked if there was an NDA, Goldberg acknowledged there was something along those lines. It may be his contractual obligations to WWE will end around that time.
