OLDER TALENT, TAKE TONY KHAN AT HIS WORD, THE BETTER WWE AND MORE

Which WWE do you enjoy better—pre TKO or post TKO?

Post TKO.  It’s not even close.  Vince was a horrible booker who presented a dull product.

I don’t watch current Ring of Honor but tuned in to the pre-show for tonight’s pay per view.  Why is Jay Lethal losing on the first match on the pre-show?  Lethal, Briscoe, Samoa Joe, these guys are the foundation of RoH.  Am I living in the past?

It’s now Tony Khan’s Ring Of Honor.  To me, it’s ROH in name only.  The old ROH is gone.

I'm looking at the stars of the main roster and there is an alarming number of big names that are 40 and older. Styles, Punk, McIntyre, Priest, Zayn, Cody, Penta, the list goes on. Do you think there will be a significant youth movement shift within the next 5 years kind of like in the mid 90's with "The New Generation"?

I am not at all concerned with the older talent in top positions.  They can all still go and having them in those roles allows younger talent to mature at a better pace. They don’t need to rush people up the card.  I think WWE management will bring in new pieces as they are needed.  I don’t think that they will need to do a reset like “The New Generation”.

Bischoff, Hogan and Real American Wrestling came out saying they would be real wrestling with athlete focussed storytelling, even hilariously comparing their approach to The Voice. More than two months in and under two months out from their first show, it's been nothing but announcing wrestlers most of us have never heard of in matches that seem completely random and meaningless. It's the opposite of what they advertised themselves as - they've told us nothing. They are reportedly struggling to sell tickets to their first show. Do you see them surviving? Who is their money mark?

I have heard the name of the backer but honestly I don’t know who he is.  I can’t say if they will survive or not.  That probably depends how much the backer is willing to spend.  But to your point, it’s hard to sell tickets for a start up when very little is known about it.

So is Tony Khan telling the truth?—does Mercedes Mone have total creative control or not?

I will take Tony at his word.  That doesn’t mean that Mone doesn’t have significant influence though.
