It’s Thursday and AEW Collision is live from Garland, Texas at the Curtis Culwell Center. Our commentary team is Tony Schiavone and Nigel McGuinness.
Kyle Fletcher, Rocky Romero, and Trent Beretta w/Don Callis and Lance Archer vs Adam Cole, Roderick Strong, and Kyle O’Reilly.
Don, as always, joins commentary.
We start with the Kyles. Fletcher goes right after Cole and knocks him off their apron, and they move to running the ropes. O’Reilly gets a kitchen sink and then tags in Cole. Trent tags in as well. They lock up and move to arm bars. Strong tags in and they hit an assisted neckbreaker on Trent. O’Reilly tags back in and they double-team Trent with kicks and Cole is tagged in for a double team cutter for two.
Cole stomps down Trent in the corner, and then O’Reilly tags in. He and Strong double team him, and Rocky tries to break it up and gets tossed to the floor as Strong gets a two count. Fletcher is able to tag in and they stomp down Strong in their corner and Fletcher covers for two. Strong gets worked over with quick tags by Fletcher's team.
Strong is able to escape during Rocky’s forever clotheslines and O’Reilly tags in and cleans house. As O’Reilly is getting in the ring, Fletcher kicks him off the apron and O’Reilly is knocked into the announcer’s table as we go to picture in picture.
When we return to full screen, O’Reilly has been the babyface in peril through the break. Fletcher knocks Cole off the apron before tagging in Trent, who goes back to work on O’Reilly. O’Reilly is able to block a half-and-half suplex, knocking both men to the mat. O’Reilly gets to his corner to tag in Strong, who runs wild. He pins Rocky for two. Rocky shoves Strong to the ropes where Fletcher gets a big kick.
All three members of Fletcher’s team take out Strong for two. Strong is able to escape, and Cole gets his turn to clean house. Cole then calls for Fletcher to get into the ring. Fletcher tags himself in and they charge at each other and throw hands. Cole gets a series of big kicks followed by a half-and-half suplex. Cole hits the Panama Sunrise for two. Cole runs into a lariat and tags in Trent. Rocky tags in quickly and takes the Boom Knee as Cole covers for the pin and the win.
Winners: Adam Cole, Roderick Strong, and Kyle O’Reilly.
Fletcher gets back in the ring, and Cole is ready for him with the belt.; Callus yells at Fletcher to not take the bait and Fletcher leaves the ring.
We then get a video package about Jon Moxley and the Death Riders, talking about how, for a year, he has been testing people, and they don’t have the ability to endure.
We get a detailed look at the arm bar of Mistico by Taz, and I like these. We haven’t had one in a long, long time. He breaks down how it works and the best way to apply the hold.
We then get a hype video for Scorpio Sky’s return. He is not a part of Sky Flight Team, with him, Leila Grey, Dante, and Darius Martin with Christopher Daniels as their manager.
Mistico vs Mortos
Mortos misses a charge to start the match and they move to running the ropes. Mistico gets a tejaris and follows with a springboard crossbody but Mortos catches him. Mistico escapes, gets a drop-kick and then a series of leaping kicks on Mortos before hitting another tejaris. Mortos is knocked to the floor and Mistico dives onto him. Mistico hits it again and then rolls Mortos into the ring.
Mistico gets a simple splash from the top rope for two. Mistico lays in blows and an arm bar. He climbs the ropes for an arm drag. He misses a splash and Mortos gets a series of blows followed by a power slam and a neck breaker as we go to picture in picture.
When we return to full screen, Mistico escapes a Samoan drop and they fight in the corner. Mistico gets a springboard cross body and follows with a tejaris. Mistico gets on Mortos’s shoulders for a spinning tejaris. He then hits a springboard back elbow for two. Mortos is able to get a spinning slam on Mistico for two. They run the ropes and Mistico is able to get an over the top sunset flip for two.
Both men struggle to get up and Mortos gets a series of headbutts and then a Samoan Drop for two. Mortos gets a lung blower for two. Mistico counters a power bomb and covers for two. Mistico gets a spinning arm drag. They trade slaps and blows back and forth. Mistico gets a destroyer and both men are down again. Mistico goes to the top and moonsaults into a boot from Mortos. Mistico is able to get a back body drop into the buckles and then locks on the Mistica Arm Bar and Mortos has to tap out.
Winner: Mistico
We get MJF on the big screen with the mask he took from Mistico in Mexico and he will keep taking masks from Mistico until he has to show the world his face.
Next is a pretaped promo from Mark Briscoe and he is coming to the Gauntlet match to win. And now it has become personal because MJF invoked his brother and he has been getting madder about it every minute that goes by. He tells MJF at this point, he has to kick his ass.
We then get video form Renee Paquette talking to Adam Cole after last night’s main event. He says he won’t talk to her and instead goes to Swerve Strickland’s locker room. Ospreay gets between them and Cole asks for two minutes. Ospreay leaves and Prince Nana leaves as well.
Swerve says that Page is gonna ask for help. Page says he couldn’t ask for help and he says he wants to do what he should have done two years ago. They both sit down across from each other. He tells Swerve he had nothing to do with the Bucks attacking him after Dynasty. Page says his son still wakes up scared thinking Swerve is in his room. He says Swerve deserved what Page did to him, but he thinks Swerve knows he deserves it and that’s why he regrets it, and asks Swerve if he regrets it.
Swerve says if he would have asked before he won the world title, he would have said no. But now that he has lost so much, he does. Page says he is bringing his family Saturday and Swerve says he will stay clear of them.
Swerve then asks him to wait. Swerve asks him to wait and he tells Page he was planning to raise his kids in the house Page burned down, but maybe it’s time to let go of the past after all.
That was a far better segment than I was expecting. AND they let it settle before moving onto the next thing.
Jon Moxley and Marina Shafir show up and Mox grabs a mic and asks what kind of crap was that. He says Page needs to get his head screwed on straight. Shafir says Page isn’t a cowboy, and calls him names they have to censor. Mox says the difference between him and Page, after Saturday, he will make no apologies and have no regrets.
Mox and Shafir then leave the arena.
FTR (Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler) w/Stoke, and The Patriarchy (Christian Cage and Nick Wayne) w/Mother Wayne and Kip Sabian vs The Outrunners (Truth Magnum and Turbo Floyd) and Jetspeed (Speedball Mike Bailey and Kevin Knight)
Nick and Speedball start the match, they lock up and Speedball forces them to the corner. Nick swings at Speedball and he dodges it. They go to the center and trade arm bars. Nick gets a side headlock takeover and Speedball works out. They do it again and Speedball tags in Knight. He and Speedball doubler team Nick and Knight covers for two. Nick goes to the floor where Cage hugs him.
Nick gets back in the ring and tosses Knight to the corner where Cage takes in and works over Knight. They run the ropes and Knight gets a drop-kick for two. Cash tags in and works over Knight in the corner before an upper cut in the middle of the ring. Cash lays in chops and Knight uses the ropes for an arm drag. Truth tags in and Cash knocks him into the wrong corner with a forearm. Dax tags in and works Truth over in the corner.
Truth gets a hip toss and then a head scissors takeover followed by a drop-kick. Cash gets snacked when he goes to the Outrunner’s corner. Turbo is tagged in and the Outrunners double team Dax and Turbo covers for two. Knight is tagged in and he is pulled to FTR’s corner and that sets off the tag team siren and everyone is brawling in and out of the ring. Knight and Dax fight in the ring, and Cash pulls down the rope for Knight to fall out of the ring as we go to picture in picture.
When we return to full screen, Knight has been the babyface in peril. He is able to dodge a splash from Dax, and Nick Wayne stops the hot tag. Knight leaps over Nick to give Truth the hot tag. The Outrunners run wild on everyone on the other team. They get the double bicep drop on Nick. Stoke gets on the apron to distract the ref so that Cage and Dax can grab Truth’s legs and pull him into the ring post. Nick gets an insigiri on Turbo. Truth is rolled into the ring and Nick gets a flatliner for two.
Cage is tagged in and Truth gets worked over in Cage's corner. Truth gets a surprise rollup for two. Cage tags in Nick and Nick gets a snap mare and holds Truth on the mat with a rear chinlock. Truth works to his feet and gets a snap suplex. Nick tags in Dax and Truth gets the tag to Turbo, but the ref doesn’t see it.
Truth is dragged back to FTR’s corner and Cash grabs a Cobra clutch. As Truth gets to his feet, Cash knocks all of his teammates off the apron, but Truth is able to drop him. Cash gets a tag to Dax, but Dax can’t stop the tag to Speedball, who cleans house. Speedball gets a shooting star on Dax for two. Speedball drags Dax to the middle of the ring. Cash stops Speedball from going to the top, but Speedball kicks him to the floor and then hits a top rope moonsault to everyone on the floor. He then hits a moonsault front he top on Dax for two, broken up by Cage.
Everyone gets a big move on the last person in the ring. Just a crazy sequence that goes on through everyone at least twice. Kevin Knight gets the UFO Splash for the pin and the win on Dax.
Winners: The Outrunners (Truth Magnum and Turbo Floyd) and Jetspeed (Speedball Mike Bailey and Kevin Knight)
Lexi Nair is with Big Boom AJ and he is calling out the Don Callis Family and he brings out Big Justice and the Rizzler. He calls for the Conglomeration and we also get RPG VIce to answer the challenge. So there’s another match for All In, I guess.
In the back, Stoke is with FTR and says that he’s made a lot of mistakes, and trusting Christian Cage was the biggest one, He then says they will even the score with the Outrunners.
Katsuyori Shibata vs Gabe Kidd
The story of this match is that Kidd was trained by Shibata.
Kidd comes through the crowd and goes to attack Shibata, and Shibata drops him. The bell rings and they brawl in the ring. They give each other clotheslines and kicks in the corners back and forth until Shibata beats Kidd down in the corner. Kidd goes to the floor and Shibata follows him and gets taken out by Kidd. Kidd rolls Shibata into the ring who hits a pump kick on Kidd knocking him off the apron. Shibata gets a running kick on Kidd on the floor.
Shibata rolls Kidd into the ring and then stomps on him. Kidd goes for the eyes and then beats Shibata down in the corner. Kidd then sits in the middle of the ring to wait for Shibata to recover and we go to picture in picture.
When we return to full screen, Kidd is throwing chops in the corner and Shibata is no selling them. Shibata reverses it, chops him down and hits a running drop-kick followed by a suplex for two. Kidd gets a suplex of his own for two. Kidd hits a brainbuster for two. Shibata blocks a pile driver and they throw strikes. Kidd then sits down and calls for Shibata to join him for slaps, and instead Shibata beats him down while standing. Shibata gets a running kick, and Kidd gets a lariat for one.
Shibata drops Kidd with his own lariat and then tries for a pickup, but Kidd blocks it and lays in blows. They trade blows and Shibata gets a ripcord slap. Shibata gets a sleeper and Kidd starts to fade. Wheeler Yuta tries to interfere, and Shibata drives him off. This allows Kidd to get a low blow as the ref chases off Yuta, and follows with a pile drive for the pin and the win.
Winner: Gabe Kidd
As Shafir leaves with Kidd and Yuta, Kris Statlander comes to the ring to join commentary.
Willow Nightingale, Mina Shirakawa, Queen Aminata, and Thunder Rosa vs Megan Bayne w/Penelope Ford, Thekla, Julia Hart w/Skye Blue, and Athena w/Billie Starkz
Haven’t we seen this match a few times already lately?
Mina and Athena start the match with arm drags and Athena gets a one count cover.
They run the ropes and Mina gets a sling blade.
Rosa tags in and lays in chops on Athena, and then takes her down with an arm drag.
Athena gets a roll up for a one count.
Rose gets a tejaris and then a casadora rollup for two.
Willow tags in and works over Athena in the corner and then hits a suplex for two.
Rosa tags back in and Athena escapes from them and tags in Bayne, who clotheslines Rosa and Willow
Bayne is able to pick up Willow and Rosa and hits a fallaway slam on both.
Bayne then tosses Athena into Willow and Rose on the floor as we go to picture in picture.
When we return to full screen, Hart gets the tarantula hold on Willow win the ropes.
Willow hits a Death Valley Driver on Hart.
Thekla and Aminata tag in and they go at each other.
Lots of quick moves and strikes until Aminata gets a headbutt and a swinging neckbreaker for one, broken up by Bayne
Aminata and Bayne throw hands and Bayne gets a stalling slam.
And it’s time for each woman to get a big move on the last woman in the ring.
Hart ends it with a moonsault on Willow front he top for two, broken up by Mina
Mina clotheslines Hart and Thekla and she and Willow go to the top.
Thekla and Hart meet them there and suplex Willow and Mina down.
Aminata pulls Thekla from the ring and everyone starts to brawl on the floor.
In the ring, Hart and Willow are fighting and Willow wisp Hart into Mina’s kick
Willow gets the power bomb on Hart for the pin and the win
Winners: Willow Nightingale, Mina Shirakawa, Queen Aminata, and Thunder Rosa
Starkz and Ford hit the ring for a post match beat down. Tay Melo and Anna Joy come to the ring for the save. Everyone is brawling in the ring and Kris Statlander joins the brawl and we are out of time!
