NXT GREAT AMERICAN BASH TIP SHEET

By Dave Scherer, Mike Johnson and Richard Trionfo on 2025-07-10 10:01:00

WWE NXT will present the Great American Bash this Saturday on Peacock and Netflix from Atlanta, GA with a 3:00 PM Eastern start time for the PPV.  Here is our take on what will happen on Saturday.

Men’s World Championship Match: Oba Femi vs Yoshiki Inamura

Dave: Oba goes oba!

Mike: No chance Oba loses unless Great Muta shows up in person and hits the mist.

Richard: I want to see a new champion crowned but I can’t see them taking the title off Oba at this time, especially if they are going to go back to Jasper. I thought Inamura cut a solid promo on Tuesday night and his performance in the ring makes me want to see the title change hands. I don’t know if they are ready to send Oba to the main roster (and I think it would be a mistake if they did that at this time) so I think he retains. Josh Briggs said that he would do whatever it takes for Inamura to win the title so I would not be surprised if Josh accidentally causes a disqualification for Oba to retain.

Fatal Influence vs Blake Monroe and Jordynne Grace

Dave: Unless there is a turn out of nowhere, Monroe and Grace win.

Mike: I don't see Grace and Monroe losing here.

Richard: It feels inevitable that one of these teams is going to break up this weekend, but will it end up being both. I think Fallon costs Jacy the title on Sunday, but after the ‘Brand New Girl’ segment from Tuesday night, I think Blake may turn on Jordynne (likely next Tuesday during Jordynne’s ‘obligatory celebration segment’). I expect to see many situations where Fallon and Jacy are not on the same page but they will play it off as an innocent mistake and Jazmyn will keep them on the same page for the day. Will they avoid the inverse transitive theory of booking by having Jordynne win both days or will Fatal Influence leave the people of Atlanta disappointed on Saturday and then please them by dropping the title to Jordynne at Evolution? I am going to go with that result. Grace takes the pin when Blake is too late to beak up the cover.

Women’s North American Championship Match: Sol Ruca vs Izzi Dame

Dave: I expect a good match that Ruca wins.  Ruca then has the "she worked yesterday" excuse built in for Evolution.

Mike: I am looking forward to this as Ruca has a ton of potential and is a lot of fun to watch, plus Dame has consistently gotten better.  I don't see a title change here.

Richard:  I have said that Sol is a great athlete, but her work in the ring lacks the realism I prefer in matches. Izzi has gone from next generation Tiffany Stratton into a decent worker and I look forward to this match. Will Zaria and Tatum Paxley have any influence in this match or will Niko and Shawn show up to get back at Sol for what she and Zaria did to ‘cost’ them the tag titles on Tuesday? I think it is time to pull the trigger on the Sol/Zaria split because the team isn’t working for me. That split is enhanced by Izzi’s victory in the match.

Men's North American Championship Falls Count Anywhere Match:  Ethan Page vs Ricky Saints

Dave: After all that Saints went through to get here, I think it makes sense to flip the belt.

Mike: I see Saints regaining the belt here.  This should be a lot of fun given the stip, although I'm wondering where they can go in Center Stage.  Pretty small venue.

Richard:  Saints ‘defied the odds’ to earn this title match by winning a gauntlet match on Tuesday night. Ricky chose the Falls Count Anywhere Match, but does that benefit him or does it hurt his chances of victory because of Vanity Project’s potential involvement? If there is no interference, this could be match of the night. I think there is more for these two because I don’t think they have established any second tier challengers for this title. Page retains.

Je’Von Evans vs Jasper Troy

Dave: I see Evans going over.

Mike: My feeling is Evans gets the win here.

Richard:  Troy wanted to be added to the World Title match but Ava was not going to let that happen (maybe he should have asked Adam Pearce). Instead Troy will face the man who attacked him last week and Troy got his revenge on Tuesday night. If Evans is not ‘injured’ enough to affect his in ring style, this will be a good contrast in styles between the high flying Evans and the monster Troy. I think Troy is okay but he is still very green in the ring and I think he needs some more time before he takes the next step. Evans is going to be a star and he needs the win right now more than Troy. I hope we will see Evans restrained a bit in his offensive output but Evans can work a bigger opponent.

Contract Signing for TNA World Championship Match at Slammiversary

Dave: Contract signings never go well in WWE.

Mike: One can never say WWE isn't doing a lot to help TNA.  I wonder if this will be Trick manipulating Santana and Hendry into fighting each other.

Richard:  I am still on the fence about driving to Atlanta for this show because of this contract signing, for a title match on another PPV, in another company. Trick will say something that gets Santana to doubt Hendry or vice versa and they will appear to be ready to fight but they will patch things up to go after Trick. I hope the crowd chants ‘we want tables’ during this segment while not realizing they are using a table for the contract signing. Said table will be broken when Trick is sent through it by Santana and Hendry.
