Justin Barrasso reported today that former WWE Head Vince McMahon recently tried to purchase "controlling interest" in BKFC, a bare knuckle boxing promotion.
Barrasso's report noted:
David Feldman, BKFC’s founder and president, confirmed that a meeting occurred–and that McMahon is resolute about a return to promoting.
“He’s a great guy, his whole team is great, but the timing wasn’t right for us,” said Feldman, who was not willing to relinquish full control of BKFC. “He’s Vince McMahon–if I were him, I’d want creative control, too. He was awesome, very complimentary, and he was very serious to do business.”
Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC) is based out of Philadelphia. The promotion was founded in April 2018.
PWInsider.com exclusively broke last year that McMahon was launching an "entertainment hub" company with plans to officially announce once his legal issues were resolved. Former WWE exec Brad Blum, a forever McMahon loyalist, is at the head of that company. The parent company name appears to be 14th & I.
The attempted BKFC interest is the first public sign of McMahon seeking to return to the promoting side of sports and entertainment.
