WWE Hall of Famer Bill Goldberg returned to WWE programming tonight at Raw in Green Bay, Wisconsin, challenging GUNTHER to face him in Atlanta, GA at the 7/12 Saturday Night's Main Event.
PWInsiderElite.com reported last week that Goldberg would be regularly appearing on Raw leading into WWE's Atlanta weekend in July.
PWInsiderElite.com also confirmed there was at least a pitch for Goldberg to appear at last Monday's Raw but the idea was later discarded.
Goldberg has been in intense training in Texas for his farewell match at the Black Diamond Martial Arts training facility in Boerne. He has noted on his podcast that he's dealt with several injuries over the course of training and has been working hard to get his shoulder specifically to where he wants it to be for a final bout, wanting to give the audience the complete Goldberg experience one final time.
GUNTHER vs. Goldberg will be Goldberg's first match in Atlanta since 2000, when he wrestled Tank Abbott on an episode of WCW Monday Nitro.
