Is HHH using multi-man matches as qualifiers for Money In The Bank and the King/Queen of the Ring tournaments to limit big stars from jobbing on TV?
I don’t think so. I think it’s more about time constraints of their being so many events to book. With that said, it’s smart to create a scenario where top talents can interact with other top talents to set things up down the road, but save them from losing matches that they don’t need to lose.
What is the main reason wrestlers like Blake Monroe change their original name? Do they feel if they adopted a WWE-created persona, it might result in a bigger sustained push?
Generally, it’s about rights fees of the name. Sometimes, they want to give someone a fresh start.
Is it inevitable… Mr. Iguana vs. Santino Marella, with Mick Foley as Special Guest Referee and Ron Killings and Little Jimmy as Special guest enforcers. Now only if we can get Harley Cameron to serve as Guest Ring Announcer…. Oh my, I hate myself for even submitting this question.
There is definitely a theme there.
How about Grande Americano vs. either Rey Fenix or Dragon Lee, mask v mask?
I could definitely see him putting the mask on the line down the road. Who it will be against? At this point I can’t say.
Are you pleasantly surprised that quality international talent with limited English proficiency like Penta, Stephanie Vaquer, and even Iyo Sky as a babyface - are getting over big time with the WWE Universe? It wasn’t that long ago where lack of English proficiency would hurt the fan base connection with international stars from the past. I am happy these talents are getting over nowadays. I think they can all go far in WWE!
I think there are two things needed for a talent that has a limited English vocabulary to get over. One is charisma. That covers up a lot of holes. Also, there needs to be a commitment from the booker to give the talents every opportunity to get over. HHH has done a very good job of that since he took over creative. I wish he could have been in control when Shinsuke Nakamura debuted on the main roster. I think his career would have gone differently.
