Around the Ring with Gabby Laspisa

This week’s guest on Around the Ring is Tommy Dreamer. Gabby Laspisa introduces Dreamer as a huge star and asks about the hoodie he’s wearing. Dreamer is not looking tan enough, so he’s keeping his hood up. Dreamer goes through his pockets and takes out a charger, hotel toothpaste and a pen. Dreamer doesn’t want to talk about anything but wrestling, but that’s not the point of the show. Dreamer decides to brush his teeth as Laspisa asks him about sports. Dreamer swallows the toothpaste and talks about going to all professional sports stadiums and arenas in American sports. He’s only one of twenty-seven people to accomplish that. Dreamer gives Laspisa his toothbrush as he talks about his favorite stadiums. For baseball, Dreamer picks San Francisco, Citi Field, and Pittsburgh. For football, Dreamer picks Minnesota. Dreamer goes back to brushing his teeth and thanks Chris Benoit for chipping one of his teeth. Laspisa was excited to have Dreamer on because he’s never been on Around the Ring before. Dreamer says that he has learned more about people from Around the Ring than he has from talking to them. Dreamer finally takes off his hood and says that the white balance is all off now. Laspisa and Dreamer then talk about food and how much they love to eat. Laspisa recently lost a bunch of weight and Dreamer always checks in on her to see if she got fat again. Laspisa asks Dreamer the 100 men or 1 gorilla question. Dreamer thinks that five ECW guys would beat the gorilla. Dreamer picks Rob Van Dam, Bubba Dudley, D-Von Dudley, Rhino, and himself as the ECW wrestlers. Dreamer packs up his pocket things and leaves as Laspisa signs off.

In Case You Missed It

The Hardys vs. First Class from last night’s iMPACT! is shown. Here is my write up from last night’s report:

AJ Francis charges at The Hardys to start, but The Hardys duck him and clothesline him to the food. KC Navarro and Jeff then square off. Jeff grabs an arm and cranks it. Matt tags in and climbs to the second rope. He jumps off with a strike to the arm. Jeff tags back in and The Hardys double team Navarro for a two count. Francis comes back in and The Hardys fight him off. Francis eats a Poetry in Motion and gets clotheslined to the floor again as the show goes to a break.

Back from the break, Jeff has control of Navarro with an arm bar. Navarro tries to escape, but Jeff cranks the arm harder. Matt tags in and The Hardys hit a double delayed suplex for a two count. Matt cranks Navarro’s arm and hits a couple of shoulder blocks. Matt forearms Navarro and tags in Jeff. Matt slingshots Navarro into the bottom rope and Jeff hits a leg drop on the apron. Jeff hits a splash for a two count. Jeff cranks Navarro’s arm some more until KC fights out of it. Jeff hits the ropes, but Francis grabs his hair. The referee gets distracted by an angry Matt.

Jeff sends Francis to the floor and then tosses Navarro over the top rope. Francis catches Navarro. Jeff goes for a baseball slide, but Francis moves out of the way. Jeff stalks Francis, but eats a dive through the ropes from Navarro. Jeff is rolled back in the ring and Francis tags in. Francis knocks Matt off of the apron and then chokes Jeff on the second rope. Francis applies an arm and neck stretch. Jeff fights out of it, but Francis throws him back down to the mat and steps on him.

Francis sends Jeff to the corner and splashes him. Francis takes out Jeff’s leg so that he’s sitting in the corner. Francis hits Tennessee Whiskey and then taunts Matt. Francis stops Jeff from making a tag, but Jeff fights back with a Twist of Fate. Jeff hits a second Twist of Fate and tags in Matt. Matt comes in hot with punches on Francis. Matt DELETES Francis in the corner.

Francis reverses an Irish Whip, but eats a back elbow. Matt uses the bottom rope to hit a Side Effect on Francis. Matt climbs to the second rope, but Trick Williams comes out and attacks Matt. The referee calls for the bell.

Winners: The Hardys by Disqualification

Trick Williams goes after Jeff Hardy until Joe Hendry and Elijah come out to help The Hardys. The System comes out to help the attack of The Hardys, Hendry, and Elijah. The Rascalz and Leon Slater come out to help The Hardys, Hendry, and Elijah. Slater hits Big Play Slater on The System, Williams, and First Class and then celebrates with The Hardys, Hendry, Elijah, and The Rascalz as the episode goes off the air.

Tom Hannifan and Matthew Rehwoldt are on commentary for the main event.

Sami Callihan vs. Amir Jordan

Sami Callihan asks the crowd to quiet down and then tells them to boo Amir Jordan. They lock up and Callihan throws Jordan down. They lock up again and Callihan drives Jordan to the corner. Jordan switches and slaps Callihan. Callihan knocks Jordan off of his feet. Callihan chops Jordan in the corner and then sends him across the ring. Callihan hits a back body drop and a chop. The fans want another chop, so Callihan obliges. Callihan sends Jordan to the apron over the top rope. Callihan punches Jordan and then ties him up in the ropes. Callihan hits a series of clubbing blows to Jordan’s chest.

Jordan shakes it off and tugs Callihan’s neck over the top rope. Jordan hits a rolling Code breaker for a two count. Jordan clubs down on Callihan’s back and then grabs a cravat. Callihan fights out of it, but Jordan hits a dropkick for a two count. Jordan grabs a cravat again, but Callihan fights out of it. Jordan cuts him off with a clubbing blow and then charges at Callihan in the corner. Callihan lifts Jordan to the apron, but Jordan punches Sami away. Jordan goes for a rolling Code Breaker again, but Callihan catches him and hits a Death Valley Driver. Jordan fights off a stunner, but eats a clothesline from Callihan. Callihan hits a stunner for the win!

Winner: Sami Callihan
