Bryan Danielson appeared earlier today on Seattle ABC affiliate KOMO this morning to promote AEW's return to Seattle.
It was noted that Danielson has wrestled all over the world, but was originally from Aberdeen and he noted his parents grew up in Washington State as well.
When asked about first getting into wrestling, Danielson said he discovered it in the first grade, but his parents weren't wrestling fans. He met a kid at school who came over and he had a wrestling magazine. Danielson said he was enthralled and he was captivated by the fact they looked like real-life superheroes. He became fascinated by it.
Danielson said that now that he's 44, it's been cool to see the next generation including the independent scene, naming local promotion Defy Wrestling.
They plugged AEW coming to Seattle on 6/21 and 6/25. Danielson said it's a blast to be at the shows live. He plugged that AEW is where the best wrestlers in the world wrestle and said the shows will have complete action from start to finish. Danielson plugged Will Ospreay and Swerve Strickland will be appearing and just wrestled over 30 minutes last night. He named Kenny Omega and AEW Champion Jon Moxley.
Danielson was asked how AEW has changed the game. Danielson said they are a more action-oriented product and if you haven't watched wrestling in 20 years, and watched AEW, you are going to see a major change and think it's awesome.
Danielson was asked what he hopes young kids take from the show. Danielson said he hopes they take a moment with them. The first time he went to wrestling, his family saw Rick Rude vs. The Ultimate Warrior and the family shared a moment and his dad, who has passed on, talked about the moment where Rude's trunks were pulled down by Warrior during the show. Danielson joked it was the first time his sister saw a male butt. Danielson said he brings his kids to the AEW shows when they are in the area and they all come out feeling it was awesome. His daughter Birdy felt the last show she saw was the best day of her life.
Danielson's son is already wanting to get into pro wrestling but their daughter has no interest. He joked that he told his son to stop wrestling him because Danielson has a bad neck.
It was a good appearance with Bryan coming off very likable.
