HHH WITH A BIG GAFFE WHERE R TRUTH IS CONCERNED, WORLDS COLLIDE WAS A GREAT SHOW, COMPETITION FOR NEW DAY AND MORE

With how entertaining Worlds Collide was is now a good time for WWE to bring back the Cruiserweight Championship?  Would it even be a good idea?

I will pass on that.  That Title was made back in the day because the smaller guys worked so much differently than the big guys of the era.  That isn’t the case anymore.  I don’t need to see that Title return.  With that said, Worlds Collide was a great show.  I enjoyed the hell out of it.

Anyone who has been following the R-Truth saga, and PWInsider's excellent reporting of the facts, knows that his release and return was not a work.  So how ridiculous is it for HHH to insist in the press conference that it was a work all along?  In an era where WWE is actively pulling back the curtain, wouldn't it have come across light years better if HHH had just said the truth, ie. that his contract was initially not renewed but he was brought back in large part due to the overwhelming fan response?

Mike Eps and I talked a lot about HHH’s handling of it on Sunday’s FMB. For all of his strengths HHH has shown a tendency to freeze in the moment during press conferences.  The worst part of it is he knew the question would be coming, as he alluded to it himself.  You would think that because he knew it was coming, he would have a good answer.  Even if he didn’t want to tell the whole truth there were ways he could have answered that didn’t come across as badly as he did.

So Triple H says that the firing of R-Truth only to bring him back a week late is “all part of the plans” (Sure, Jan). So if this incident was all part of the plans, then what exactly did this add to the story? Why can’t they just admit they were not anticipating the blacklash and underestimated his popularity. To me, that would give them more credibility than insulting the intelligence of their audience.

Eps and I also talked about that aspect of it.  “It’s all a work” only makes sense if it adds to a story line.  In this case, it didn’t.  Maybe he was mad that he was forced to bring back Truth and had egg on his face, I don’t know.  But as I said above, HHH came off really badly in that moment.  Hopefully he will learn from it.

Two-part question about the Smackdown Tag Team Division:

1) Do you see the Wyatt Sicks making the division into more of a spectacle instead of having great matches?

The nature of their characters would indicate that there will be a big element of spectacle involved in what they do.  I can’t say yet how it will carry over to the matches.

2) Would you move New Catch Republic to Smackdown to capitalize on the potential matches or would they vanish in the mix?  I just would hate to see them released when they have so much to offer.

I love both guys and I think WWE does too.  I wouldn’t force them onto Smackdown at the moment since the division has so many teams. I would rather see them get in the mix on Raw with The New Day.
