JOHN CENA’S ABYSMAL HEEL RUN, AEW HAS AN OPPORTUNITY, RIC FLAIR IS CLASSLESS AND MORE

Can someone please take Ric Flair’s phone away from him? The temerity of him to accuse Jim Ross of seeking attention with his cancer surgery and then offering a weak “it’s a joke” backpedal would be exhausting, were Flair not already exhausting enough.

I wish that someone would not just take his phone, but also destroy it.  No matter what your grudge against someone is, mocking them when they are battling colon cancer makes you a real scumbag.

I was wondering if you think HHH's bad booking is a result of too many cooks in the kitchen regarding TKO. It seems like when Vince left they had no one to turn to except HHH to lead the ship. Now after a few years there may be more people saying let's do this (Rock, Cena title win) and it's messing with the overall booking of shows and talents.

People like Cena and Rock can definitely inject themselves into the booking and knock things off course.  But I think a lot of the bad creative leading into WrestleMania falls directly on HHH.  He wrote, or at least greenlit, some bad storytelling with Rhea Ripley, Jey Uso, etc.  It will happen at times in a creative process.  No one hits on everything that they book.

Alternatively, with TKO showing their true business model by releasing R-Truth, Dakota Kai, Shyana Blaszer and others, along with the enormous ticket prices for WWE events. Does AEW have another opportunity to capture the attention of fans who have come to love Wrestling but are being priced out because Double or Nothing was very good.

First off, as we have said many times, TKO is bottom line oriented.  They won’t keep people on the payroll that they don’t think they are monetizing.  We can debate whether they are releasing the right people, for sure, but we are at the point now where if you are a talent making a healthy salary you had better hope that you are being featured on TV, and even then that might now be enough, as Truth found out.

As for AEW, yes, the opportunity is there to appeal to misplaced fans. The problem is that they need to do it on TV and not on PPV shows that most fans don’t purchase.  If they could fix their booking issues, they could appeal to fans that WWE has priced out.

Lastly...John Cena's title run, Good for him that he get's to be a heel and be a 17 champion but is anyone going to remember this title reign? All the footage they show of Cena going forward in the future is going to be of when he was a good guy and a 17x champion. It's a shame cause I think every fan was looking forward to celebrating him as a performer and now it's just a blah reaction from a lot of people.

I know that I will definitely remember this run…..because of how bad it’s been.  I agree with you.  I think most fans just wanted to celebrate him on his final run.  If his heel run had been good and interesting, maybe we would feel differently but it’s been boring and inept.  I just want it to end.

John Cena’s heel turn has been abysmal.  What would you do if you were WWE/Cena?

Abysmal is a great word to describe it.  If it’s me, I have Cody Rhodes beat him for the Title at SummerSlam and get the belt off of him.  Then they could do whatever unbelievable thing that they will do to turn Cena face and have him spend his final dates making fans happy, not putting them to sleep.
