As PWInsider.com reported last month, independent wrestler Jordan Blake Williams, who wrestles in The Southeast under the ring name Jayden Steele, was arrested by The Santa Rosa County Sherriff's Office in Florida on 5/29 and charged with Felony - Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon – DV (Domestic Violence), Felony – Kidnap-False Imprisonment - DV, Felony – Battery – DV, Misdemeanor – Battery – Touch or Strike – DV, and Felony – Battery by Strangulation – DV.
As outlined in a press release issued by the agency, the victim in the case left a note in the bathroom of a Jersey Mike's restaurant, leading to an investigation and Williams' arrest.
According to Williams' arrest report, the note left in the restaurant stated:
"Please help, text [deleted by PWInsider] I need a wellness check sent to [address deleted] Navarre, Florida. I'm being kept here against my will. Let cops know don't approach the house unless my Hyandai Kona is in the driveway bc his parents will alert him and he will hurt me and make us run in the car again. The parents help him keep me here. I just want to get home to my kids and family. No missing persons reports bc they notify phones and no messaging my medias bc he has and controls my phone so he will know! My names [deleted]. Please help get me home! HELP! Get me before May 30th!"
The note was found by employees 20 minutes after it was left, leading to authorities being called.
In the arrest report, it was noted that authorities used Florida Driver License and Master Name Index System, to identify Williams and the victim. Officers also confirmed that the victim had a documented history as a domestic violence victim, with Williams previously listed as the suspect in a January 2024 incident involving controlling behavior. Surveillance footage and vehicle records linked the victim to a 2025 blue Hyundai Kona registered at the same Navarre address where Williams resides with his parents, Larry and Janet Williams.
Law enforcement contacted the victim's ex-husband, who revealed the victim had left their marriage to be with Williams. The ex-husband described the relationship between Williams and the victim as abusive, stating that Williams "had previously held [deleted] captive for two days, tied her to a bed, spat tobacco in her mouth, and urinated on her." The arrest report also alleged that Williams had threatened to kill the victim's children and family, and that he had a history of firearm possession.
The victim's mother also told authorities that she had tried to file a missing persons report on her daughter on 5/1 and expressed concern about her whereabouts. Upon seeing the note, the victim's mother stated it was credible and also confirmed past incidents of abuse and controlling behavior by Williams.
A search warrant was issued and executed on 5/28 at Williams' home. When authorities arrived, they found the victim, who confirmed she had written the note and claimed she had been held captive for 6-8 months and that she was beaten regularly and prevented from leaving. The arrest report noted the victim detailed three recent physical assaults:
5/23 - Williams allegedly strangled her and slammed her to the ground, then knelt on her back.
3/18 - Williams reportedly held a knife to her throat during a violent argument.
A week before the arrest, Williams allegedly punched her in the face and again grabbed her by the neck.
The victim also stated that she was told multiple times Williams "would kill her if she attempted to seek help or assistance."
The arrest report noted the victim provided photographic evidence of her injuries and was observed to have a black eye, possible broken bones, and welts on her head. She was transported to a hospital for treatment.
The arrest report noted that Williams was read his Miranda Rights but denied all abuse and was unaware of how the victim received her injuries. Despite his denials, officers identified him as the primary aggressor based on physical evidence and the victim's sworn statement.
Prosecutors requested that Williams be held in pretrial detention, citing:
Defendant is alleged to have been keeping ("Victim") against her will for months.
Law enforcement became aware of the situation because the Victim left a detailed note in the bathroom at a restaurant saying she was being held against her will and asking for help. Law enforcement reviewed surveillance video, prior reports involving Defendant and Victim, and other relevant materials. The prior reports suggest a history of the Defendant abusing and controlling the Victim.
Law enforcement spoke to the family of the Victim. The deputies learned more information further supporting that Defendant has a history of physically abusing and controlling the Victim. Additionally, the ex-husband of the Victim explained to law enforcement that Defendant had previously armed himself with a firearm and threatened the Victim's family.
A search warrant was sought and executed, and the Victim was located. The Victim confirmed that she had been held against her will for months. The Victim stated that she had attempted to escape, but she was caught and harmed for attempting to do so.
Deputy Dalton Heigele noted that Victim had a black eye. EMS observed that Victim had a possible broken arm and injuries to the back of her head
Williams is being represented by a public defender, has plead not guilty and has demanded a jury trial. He remains incarcerated at Santa Rosa County Jail and is slated to be officially arraigned on 6/19.
