We start off with a look at what happened in last week's main event.
We see footage of the bet that Cole and Pat made and Cole pays it off.
CM Punk makes his way to the ring.
Punk says it is summertime and it is Money in the Bank time. He says he hears some 'thunder' and they might be on 'pace' for a thunder storm. Punk reminds people to watch Raw or Smackdown while the finals are on.
He says it is Summer of Punk time. Money in the Bank is around the corner. He says he is a two time winner. Two times, he successfully cashed in and he is looking forward to doing it for the third time. It is the Summer of Punk and it is time that CM Punk got some gold around his waist. There are some great champions in the WWE. There is a longer list of challengers. There are two people on top. One is his friend, Jey Uso. When he wins the briefcase, it is not personal, it is business. The second name on top may be a little bit personal. His name is John Cena. He says he cut his teeth hearing people going absolute banana about John. He is public enemy number one for selling his soul to a bald headed goof. Punk says he always had John's number and he is going to pick the bones, bitch.
Punk says he is not just happy to be here. It is time that he became champion one more time. He says he will see you at Money in the Bank after he qualifies.
Sami Zayn makes his way to the ring.
Punk says he usually hates being interrupted and certain songs being played. He says he is not mad about Sami doing it.
Sami says he appreciates it from Punk and the crowd. He says he is out here because this is the first time he has heard Punk speak so clearly. Your plan is to become World Champion. Sami says it is no secret he has his ambitions on being World Champion. Money in the Bank is not the path for him. Thanks to Paul Heyman, Seth Rollins, Bron Breakker, and Bronson Reed it is not for him. He wanted to highlight the importance that CM Punk must win. Tonight is more must win than ever before. You are talking about Jey and Cena, but you are probably thinking about Seth, Bron, and Bronson. You cannot think about any of that. Sami says that he and Jey will take care of Bron and Bronson.
Sami says he doesn't need Punk's help. He says that Punk is probably thinking about Seth. He says if you are in the match, then it changes things for Saturday. If Seth wins, it is over. It turns into something different and unrecognizable.
Samii says he needs Punk to win tonight. He says we all need Punk to win tonight.
Sami says he says he wants Punk to win tonight. Sami says should Punk win and should you win the Money in the Bank contract and win the title, you and I will be face to face in this ring again. We will have a very different conversation than the one we are having right now.
Punk says he looks forward to it.
Punk offers his hand and Sami shakes it.
Cole mentions Judgment Day and what is going on with the women and Roxanne Perez.
Liv and Raquel are HALLWAY and Roxanne shows up to apologize for interrupting.
Liv tells Roxanne she did interrupt and she doesn't want her to sabotage her again.
Liv tells Iyo that Kairi got lucky last week and she will cash in and beat Iyo for the title.
Iyo says that is not going to happen.
Liv tells Iyo to watch her.
We have a video package for Stephanie Vaquer.
She says that wrestling is her passion and it is who she is. She discovered WWE at age 10 and watched it. She says it was her destiny. She says ihe is the first South American champion in WWE. She says she will always dominate.
Match Number One: ivy Nile versus Liv Morgan versus Stephanie Vaquer in a Money in the Bank Qualifying Match
Ivy and Liv kick Stephanie and Liv with a forearm to Ivy but Ivy with a shoulder tackle to Liv. Ivy sends Liv into the ropes but Liv with a back elbow. Vaquer with a head butt to Liv and a slingshot cross body to both women. Vaquer with a belly-to-back suplex to Liv and it is time for Vaquer to hit the Devil's Kiss on Liv. Vaquer with a belly-to-back suplex to Ivy and it is time for another Devil's Kiss until Liv hits a drop kick. Liv with a suplex to Vaquer and she holds on for a second one. Liv sets for the third Amiga and she drops Vaquer onto Ivy. Liv with a kick to Ivy and hip strikes to Ivy and Vaquer in the corner. Liv misses Vaquer and Ivy with a drop kick.
Vaquer with a running double knee to Liv. Vaquer with a standing switch on Liv and IVy with a double German suplex. Ivy goes to the apron and she sends Liv back into the ring for a near fall. Ivy sends Liv into the turnbuckles and follows with forearms. Liv with a thrust kick but Ivy with forearms. Vaquer with a boot on the apron. Vaquer with a forearm to Ivy. Liv blocks a Tiger Feint Kick on Ivy and Ivy sends Vaquer into the turnbuckles. Ivy with forearms to Vaquer. Ivy pulls Vaquer into the center of the ring and she goes for a heel hook. Liv with a lungblower to Ivy for a near fall. Liv with a suplex to Vaquer and she holds on for another one. Liv kicks IVy and goes for a double suplex but Vaquer and Ivy counter into a delayed double vertical suplex. Vaquer with a back heel kick.
Vaquer with a head scissors into a rollup for a near fall on Ivy. Vaquer with Eat Defeat to IVy and an elbow to Ivy. Vaquer with a double knee strike to Liv. Ivy kicks Vaquer and Vaquer with a dragon screw for a near fall. Liv with a forearm to Vaquer and Vaquer fires back. They go back and forth. Liv with kicks and she misses an enzuigiri. Vaquer with an enzuigiri of her own. Vaquer goes for a dragon screw in the ropes but Liv with a kick. Liv goes to the turnbuckles and Vaquer wtih an elbow. Vaquer sets for a superplex but Ivy comes under and hits the power bomb on the tower of doom. Ivy gets a near fall on Vaquer.
Ivy goes for a slam but Vaquer escapes and gets a near fall. Ivy and Vaquer alternate near falls. Vaquer with a bridge for a near fall. Ivy escapes Eat Defeat and Liv comes off the turnbuckles with a double Codebreaker for a near fall on both women. Ivy and Liv exchange punches and Liv with kick. Ivy blocks obLIVion and Vaquer with a thrust kick to Ivy. Vaquer with a rollup for a near fall. Liv with a Codebreaker and she hits obLIVion on Vaquer. Ivy sends Liv to the floor and Ivy gets a near fall on Vaquer. Liv sends Ivy into the apron but Liv is sent into the ring post by Ivy. Vaquer with SVB to Ivy for the three count.
Winner: Stephanie Vaquer
AJ Styles is in the back and he sees Paul Heyman.
Paul offers his hand to AJ and AJ asks what can he do for Paul.
Paul says AJ can accept his profound wishes for a Happy Birthday. Paul says he has a gift. Information is currency and information is wisdom. Paul says Dom is the IC champion and he is making a disgrace of that title. That title needs a Phenomenal Champion. The briefcase has a contract but you have to carry it with you 24/7 and schlep a referee with you. Paul tells AJ to focus on Dom and the IC title. Leave Money in the Bank to Seth Rollins.
AJ asks Paul if he is tired. Is he tired of chasing that meal ticket. He says Paul looks exhausted. You thought he would buy what Paul is selling. He will get back to the IC title. He says he does not respond well to threats and he knows Paul very well and very long. That is what that was. AJ says he does not care who it is. If you try to push me out, I will push back. AJ tells Paul to go back and tell Seth he knows all about his plan.
AJ says everybody has a plan until they get punched in the mouth.
Chad Gable comes out for the contractually obligated Interstitial segment.
He says he is out here to talk about what is going down this week. First, the Thunder are going to lose Game 1 of the NBA finals. Tonight, in the main event, his new favorite wrestler, El Grande Americano, is going to punch his ticket to Money in the Bank. Saturday, Chad completes his journey of the dark arts of lucha libre and he is going to become AAA Mega Champion.
Rusev says Sheamus looked disappointed in him last week. He says he is doing the good work and keeping people from falling into the abyss. You helped a stranger last week when you let me fall. Rusev says he is the son of thunder and Sheamus is the weak one. You are challenging the one man who can make it all go away. After everything we have been through, it will be my honor to send you off the field. Rusev says he went down because Sheamus stabbed him in the back. He tells Sheamus to stay away.
Sheamus tells Tozawa that he was brave. Sheamus tells Maxxine and Nattie need to be a tag team because they have heart.
Nattie says Maxxine has impressed her a lot.
Cathy asks Sheamus about Rusev's comments and why did he get involved.
Sheamus says he can only stand back so long. Rusev's WWE career imploded because of his actions. Outside of WWE, his career lasted as long as Rusev Day. Does Rusev have amnesia and try to get his name back by going after smaller guys. Sheamus tells Rusev, I bully bullies.
