6/01/25 Results from New Japan's Best of the Super Juniors 32; A Winner is crowned - Ota City, Tokyo, Japan:
Kick off match: Shoma Kato vs. Robbie X
Robbie pins Kato with an X Express.
1 - Kevin Knight, KUSHIDA, Master Wato, Boltin Oleg and Toru Yano vs. Yoshinobu Kanemaru, SHO, Yujiro Takahashi, Ren Narita and SANADA
SHO hits Wato in the leg with his wrench. Kanemaru applies the figure four. SHO pounds on Wato’s leg with the wrench and escapes the ring.
Wato taps out.
House of Torture have targeted Wato’s leg and the IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Tag Belts.
2 - Tomoaki Honma, YOSHI-HASHI and Taichi vs. Francesco Akira, Callum Newman and Great O-Khan
United Empire was accompanied to the ring by Aina Aiba aka Yuki Harumi, a former wrestler and now a voice actress and singer. She also made an appearance at Stardom the prior night.
O-Khan hits a TTD and a pump handle Eliminator.
Taichi and Newman exchange words after the match. They will challenge for the IWGP Tag Team Championship on June 15.
3 - Nick Wayne, MAO, El Phantasmo and Shota Umino vs. Robbie Eagles, Hartley Jackson, Ryohei Oiwa and Zack Sabre Jr.
ELP hits a CR2 on Jackson and gets the pin.
4 - Titan and Yota Tsuji vs. Clark Conners and Taiji Ishimori
Tsuji hits a Gene Blaster on Conners and gets the pin.
5 - Gedo vs. EVIL
Wild brawl. Dick Togo is tied up to a steel post on the entryway. Gedo and EVIL brawl into the crowd. EVIL knocks Gedo off the top rope and applies the Darkness Scorpion.
Gedo taps out.
The rest of House of Torture comes out to beat down Gedo. They tie Gedo to a dog collar chain. Ishimori and Robbie X try to save Gedo but they get knocked down. They hang Gedo by the neck with the dog collar.
David Finlay will face EVIL in a dog collar chain match on June 15.
6 - Dragon Dia, Ninja Mack and Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. TAKA Michinoku, El Desperado and Yuya Uemura
Tanahashi pins TAKA after a High Fly Flow.
After the match, Jun Kusai comes to the ring to face Desperado. Kusai gives Desperado a Death Pain Invitation in an envelope. On June 24, El Desperado will face Jun Kusai in a possible Death Match at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo.
7 - Ryusuke Taguchi and Hirooki Goto vs. Hiromu Takahashi and Shingo Takagi
Takagi pins Taguchi after a Burning Dragon.
Shingo Takagi will face Hirooki Goto for the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship.
8 - Best of the Super Juniors 32 Finals: YOH vs. Kosei Fujita
Good match. The crowd was hyped for this match and popped for both men. They beat the hell out of each other. Fujita hits Abandon Hope and a Thrill Ride.
Fujita pins YOH.
Kosei Fujita wins Best of the Super Juniors 32. He is the youngest winner at 22 years old.
TMDK jumps in the ring to check on Fujita.
YOH congratulates Fujita. Fujita is presented with the trophy and poses for photos.
Fujita will earn a title shot against El Desperado for the IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Title.
This was a passing of the torch of sorts. New Japan needed a new batch of wrestlers to build around and Fujita is a good one.
The next event on New Japan World is Dominion on June 15.
