5/31 WRESTLING REVOLVER IN RICHMOND, INDIANA REPORT

By David Houston on 2025-06-01 15:19:00

The Wrestling REVOLVER was back at the Wayne County Fairgrounds in Richmond, Indiana for the first time in 2025, holding WR Unreal, broadcasting live on TrillerTV.
They've upped their schedule recently, with Let Us Cook barely 2 weeks ago and their biggest show, Cage of Horrors, in 2 weeks in Clive.

Joe Dombrowski was back with WR regular commentator Bork Torkelson on commentary. They were solid again.

I could barely hear the crowd or anything over commentary.

In the opener, "Firestarter" Jake Crist successfully defended the Remix title against The Macabre's Kishin. It was funny to me that commentary made the effort to not call him "Alan Angels" but the ring announcer must have not gotten the memo and announced him as such.  Good athletic bout.  Crist avoided a moonsault, with Kishin taking a nasty landing, pinning the challenger with a backslide, the same simple maneuver he used to win the title at Let Us Cook.  Standing ovation from Richmond and they earned it.

Katie Arquette made her WR debut. Good for her.  She was facing Jessicka Havok. Ouch.  Spirited effort but Havok won with a Death Valley Driver. Macabre finally back in the Win column.

Alpha Sig (aka Alpha Sigma Sigma, KC Jacobs and "Big" Dick Meyers instead of Brent Oakley this time) retained the WR Tag championships they regained at Let Us Cook in a 3 way match over Bang and Matthew (Davey Bang, August Matthews) and Latinos Most Wanted (Koda Hernandez, Sabin Gauge).  Bang and Matthews and LMW are talented Midwest based tag teams and have faced each other and the Alphas in previous bouts.  Dombrowski with the Line of the Night saying Meyers looked like both of Angelo Poffo's sons merged together.  A lot of high flying action and flashy double team moves. All three teams got to look good.  The Alphas pinned Matthews with their Par-Dee face plant finish. They're still works in progress but the Alphas are solid prospects.

In a Street Fight (sponsored by throwback store Retro Jake and all the throwback plunder to fit the gimmick), "The Atrocity" Krule of the Macabre defeated Matthew Justice, his first match in REVOLVER since last June, one more chapter in their long running feud that's spanned Major League Wrestling and Game Changer Wrestling.  Both guys worked really hard and they enjoyed hitting each other with the normal WR plunder like tables and doors while mixing in Super Nintendo cartridges and VHS tapes.  But if you've seen one Justice brawl, you've seen them all.  One thing in it's favor: it was different than any of the previous matches. There's that.  Krule put Justice down with a two handed chokeslam off the top rope into a table that did not give (ouuuuch). Tough finish to a tough match.

In the first match from Intermission, "The Babushka Baron" Jeffery Johns won his first 8 person Scramble match in REVOLVER, beating out Juni Underwood, Bigg Pound, Derek Dillinger, Nathan Davis, Ryan Matthias of Tye or Die, and Rachel Armstrong (the only woman in the bout).  All action, car crash of a match.  Great showing by Armstrong and the guys, some of whom were twice her size legit, for selling and bumping for her.  Johns pinned Underwood for the victory.

Damien Chambers (with Kayla Kassidy) defeated Youtube star, BDE.  BDE is a nice kid and you can tell he's serious about pro wrestling but he's in his 6th match. Chambers is a 5 yr pro with matches with former world champ like Tommy Dreamer and Sami Callihan. This should not have went over 13 min (longest match of the show), even with the abundant stalling they did, such as WR executive Phil Stamper having to remove Kassidy from ringside.  It comes together better if shortened by 5-6 mins. Chambers got the clean win.

"The Inevitable" Ace Austin, a man who's career has been in turmoil the last 6 months (irl and kayfabe), got a victory over former NWA Jr. Heavyweight champion Joe Alonzo in a very good match up.  Alonzo is a great heel, making a fun match up with the very popular Austin.

"The Young GOAT" Myron Reed (with Killer Kelly) defended the REVOLVER Title against Dante Leon in the final match of the night.  There was a lot of good action with copious amounts of interference by Kelly, which hurt the match for me.  The action was good until Reed went for his signature ring apron cutter but Leon ducked (as planned I would expect) and Reed took a NASTY bump to the floor, landing on the back of his head, neck and shoulders.  The ref checked him immediately and called for medical attention, ending the match and the feed was cut.  Last word was Reed was doing fine but that was horrifying to watch.

Overall, a solid, ,entertaining show that had something for everybody. Well, no "technical masterpieces" but everything else.
