Artist Rob Schamberger's latest subject is AEW's Josh Alexander:
Schamberger noted, "With this Josh Alexander painting I thought it’d be fun to pull back the curtain and share some of my process with you. So often with my work I’m trying to find a way in to the piece, whether it be a conceptual idea or a color palette or a visual approach, anything I can latch onto to guide me through it. Here, I liked the jagged lightning bolt-esque pattern on his gear and repeated that as a design element in the background. That felt a little disjointed at first so I added the cast shadow to give it a sense of space and depth, making the entire composition come into focus. Fun one to make!"
