5/28 AEW DYNAMITE REPORT

By Anthony Pires on 2025-05-28 22:07:00

It’s Wednesday, and that means AEW Dynamite is LIVE and on the air!!! We are a mere 3 days removed from Double or Nothing and officially on the road to All In Texas. We have our 2 main events!

Ian Riccaboni, Taz, and Excalibur have the call of all the action tonight.

Tony Schiavone is in the ring and brings in Adam Hangman Page, the 2025 Owen Hart Cup champion. Someone recently said that AEW is the story of Adam Page and the people who eventually meet up with him. Can’t argue. Page takes the mic. He talks about triumph and how it’s fleeting. Page says he lost sight of himself. He says it’s what you do that matters. He thanks Will Ospreay. He returns the Owen Hart belt to AEW. He talks about the hidden AEW World Championship. He promises to win the AEW World Championship at All In.

Here comes Swerve Strickland, alone. He shows video from a month ago where the Young Bucks brag about helping Page. Swerve talks about how he thinks Page and the Bucks might be in cahoots and calls collusion. He asks Page if he was set up. Page says he’s not in cahoots. Swerve does NOT believe him.

Will Ospreay comes out. He gets between the two. He says Swerve is wrong about Page. Are we getting Swerve vs. Ospreay at All In? Ospreay wants them all to work together. Swerve knocks the mic away and tells Ospreay he’ll never work with Page and walks off. Page refuses help and walks off. All In Texas main event just got curious.

The Death Riders arrive with Gabe Kidd.

Mixed Trios Match: Gabe Kidd, Jon Moxley & Marina Shafir vs. Willow Nightingale, Speedball Mike Bailey, and Mark Briscoe

Briscoe and Kidd charge and pound away. They trade chops. All six fight it out. Bailey kicks Moxley on the floor. Briscoe with a neckbreaker to the floor on Kidd. Triple jump by Briscoe as we go to commercial.

We are back. Moxley twists Briscoe’s arm and Kidd tags in. Big right hands by Kidd. Moxley tags in and Briscoe fights back. Speedball tags in. Dropkick by Bailey and a series of kicks by Speedball. 2-count by Bailey. Small package for 2 by Bailey into a thrust kick. Willow and Marina tag in. Clotheslines by Willow. Boot by Willow. Spinebuster for 2 by Willow. All six fight it out. Marina with a German to Speedball. Bailey and Moxley tag in. Wheeler Yuta throws Bailey off the top rope and Kidd suplexes him into the timekeeper’s table as we go to commercial.

We’re back. Kidd with a dropkick to Bailey for 2. Moxley tags in and stomps Bailey’s hand. They trade elbows. Kidd tags in, kicks by Bailey.

Kris Statlander is backstage looking on.

Briscoe tags in and fires away. Kidd with chops and headbutts. Action spills to the floor. Bailey moonsaults both Kidd and Moxley. Froggy Bow for 2 by Briscoe, Kidd kicks out. Komander comes out to neutralize Claudio Castagnoli. Moxley with a Paradigm Shift into a sleeper on Briscoe. Briscoe goes out.

WINNERS: JON MOXLEY, GABE KIDD & MARINA SHAFIR

We hear from the Hurt Syndicate following their title defense at Double or Nothing.

Ricochet is backstage. He says he needs a crew.

Anna Jay & Harley Cameron vs. Penelope Ford & Megan Bayne – No DQ

The winners do NOT get me as a husband. This is a brawl at the outset. Shoutout to my friend Lex, Ford’s biggest fan. DDT by Cameron to Ford, broken up by Bayne. We have plunder! Bayne is getting ping-ponged by chairs. Harley with a drop toe hold to Bayne for 2. Leg sweep/kick combo by Harley and Jay. We go to commercial as Cameron and Jay set up a table.

We’re back. Jay with a chair sends Bayne through a table on the floor. Ford with a lung blower to Jay. She misses a moonsault. Cameron gets slammed into the steps by Bayne. Doctors tend to a bloodied Cameron. I think her nose is broken. Jay with a Gory Bomb for 2 on Ford, broken up by Bayne. Bayne with an F5 for 2, Harley broke it up. Lariat for 2 by Bayne. Doomsday Device and Bayne scores the pin.

WINNERS: PENELOPE FORD & MEGAN BAYNE

We see footage of Mercedes Moné entering the building.

Samoa Joe, Katsuyori Shibata, and Powerhouse Hobbs vs. Preston Vance, Cole Karter, and someone else whose name I failed to catch – The Frat House

Who is better looking: Tom Cruise or Mel Gibson? I ask this because I’ve already written in the winners’ names and feel like wasting time rating the ’80s/’90s superhunks. Gotta admit I’m amused by the Frat House.

WINNERS: SAMOA JOE, KATSUYORI SHIBATA & POWERHOUSE HOBBS

Next week is Fyter Fest!

Renee Paquette brings out Jamie Hayter. We have a WE MISS REBEL sign!!! Lights go out. Tekla attacks Hayter. I have no idea who she is, but she makes a nice debut.

We get a Mistico video.

TNT Championship: Adam Cole vs. Kyle Fletcher

Don Callis has joined the booth. Fletcher looks like a million bucks here. The right call here is a new champion, as far as I’m concerned. Lockup, clean break in the corner.

For the record, Ian Riccaboni is awesome. Shove by Kyle. Shoulder tackle by Fletcher. Kick by Fletcher. Cole responds in kind. Cole looks like he put a little muscle on. Roppongi Vice blocks a Panama Sunrise. O’Reilly and Strong fight them off as we go to commercial.

We are back and Fletcher with a slam. Fletcher toys with him. Superkick by Cole. Lariat by Cole. Elbows by Fletcher into a Last Shot for 2 by Cole. Rollup for 2 by Fletcher. Running kick by Fletcher. Panama Sunrise by Cole. Josh Alexander attacks Cole and the ref calls for the bell.

WINNER BY DQ AND STILL TNT CHAMPION: ADAM COLE

Brody King comes out with a chair to help.

Josh Alexander vs. Brody King

Winner of this goes to a 4-way to challenge Kenny Omega at Fyter Fest. They slug it out. King with chops and elbows. Dropkick by Josh. Backdrop by King. Forearms by King. King bangs his hand on the post. Lance Archer guards Callis at ringside. King with a uranage on the barricade. Kick by Josh. DDT on the apron by Alexander. Chop by Alexander. Alexander works over the right arm of King. Into the steps goes King as we go to commercial.

We are back and it’s Alexander with an armbar. German by King into a lariat. Alexander wrenches the arm on the buckle. Sleeper by King. German on the apron by Alexander. Chops on the floor by Alexander. King with a splash. King misses a cannonball. Ankle lock by Alexander. Lariat by King into a Gonzo Bomb for the pin.

WINNER: BRODY KING

Alexander is busted open.

Kyle Fletcher is backstage and upset. He and Cole fight as security breaks it up.

Mercedes Moné comes out. She declares herself the greatest TBS, Rev Pro, and Owen Hart Champion ever. Toni Storm interrupts. She lays the world title belt between them. Storm praises her All In challenger but vows to remain champion. Moné mocks Storm’s accent. She’s the Beyoncé of women’s wrestling. This is a fun back-and-forth. Storm says she NEEDS her AEW Women’s title. In 45 days, they meet. Storm vows to win. They have a staredown and avoid each other’s finishers.

We go to credits.
