The WWE just put out a daily match on YouTube of the 50 Greatest WrestleMania matches in history. While Edge, Sting, Sasha Banks and even Brock Lesnar had matches in this list, one name that didn't have a match was Chris Jericho. I understand "top lists" is always subject of disagreements. I can't help to not understand why Shawn Michaels vs Chris Jericho at WrestleMania 19 is not on this list. Does Jericho have heat with WWE in order to not give him credit for this great match?
Those lists are definitely subjective. With that said, given Jericho’s jump to AEW, I wouldn’t be shocked if whoever did the list found it very easy to omit him. Tony Khan has chosen to create animus between himself and WWE so I could understand WWE not wanting to celebrate any AEW talent.
Where the Hail has Thea been?
I like the pun. She was out of action after Chase U disbanded. She is back.
Is bad booking just always going to be part of wrestling? Some bookers have more hits than misses, but nobody hits home runs every at bat. It seems like that rooting for your favorite promotion to have a net positive on every show should be the goal, right?
No one is going to hit on every idea, for sure. There are different kinds of misses though. There are, “I took a shot and it didn’t work out” misses and “This guy would never get a job if he didn’t own the promotion” misses. I think we have to expect that even the best booker won’t hit on every idea. We also have to accept that a bad booker will miss more than he/she hits.
AEW has been given the right to use Owen Hart’s name and has the involvement of his widow, which is absolutely wonderful and honestly a huge deal. My question is why doesn’t AEW treat it like the big deal it is?
I think that they do treat it like a big deal.
For years it was assumed that Triple H would replace Vince as the creative head of WWE. That finally happened and has greatly improved the product. Do you see a clear successor for HHH in the company or coming down the pipe? Obviously, HHH should have many years left running the creative side of the company, but do you think this is a role they will spend a decade or more actively building someone for like Vince did HHH?
If there is a successor in waiting, I have not heard who that person is.
