I attended last night, it was 20 min. from my house. And at $42 Cdn. for a general admission ticket, well worth it. Especially with the crazy WWE prices these days. My first live event in over 15 years.
Joe Hendry merch was moving briskly, they had very little left near the end of the night.
I don't know if TNA claimed a sellout, but there were empty seats in the upper areas of the stands and on the hard camera side, and they were empty all night, so it wasn't a case of folks leaving for food/merch/bathroom & coming back. While I was waiting outside the community entrance to the arena , I was approached by two staffers who asked if I was there for the show. They had in their hand what looked like passes and one guy asked me " Can you get maybe 8 of your buddies to come down ?". So it seems they were still trying to fill the place up.
Really good crowd, they were into most everything all night. I watched some clips on Youtube when I got home, and the crowd noise didn't translate as well to TV.
Biggest pops: Joe Hendry, Trick Williams, Matt Hardy, Santino Marella. Santana was over big time as well, he looked great and was in tremendous shape. Cody Deaner had the whole crowd behind him against Eddie Edwards.
Most heat: Robert Stone was a heat magnet all night long, it was unreal. Tessa Blanchard was getting what seems to be the norm for her: " F@ck You Tessa " and " She's a racist " throughout the match. But she didn't appear to get rattled, and when the volume went up, she cupped her ear to the crowd and leaned right into it.
It appeared almost no one knew who Champagne Singh was. Lots of " who are you ? " chants, and he even got the " what " treatment. I had to ask a bunch of people in the crowd who he was, finally found someone.
Moose & Trick Williams are big, imposing dudes in person, wow.
The group I was with were talking, and after Tessa's match, none of us could envision WWE ever bringing her on board. Never say never in wrestling, but I doubt WWE would want the racist chants she got at their shows.
An overall great night, absolutely got my money's worth.
