5/11 WWE LFG REPORT

After a short recap of last week’s episodes, the mood at the performance center has changed. All the Future Greats have officially realized that the competition is for real. Booker T tries to pump them up and then Shawn Michaels walks in to talk to everyone. He talks about how there have been lots of ups and downs with some injuries during the season. It’s all a part of wrestling, though. After this episode, they will go from eight Future Greats to four.

The Legends are standing on the apron of a ring as they talk about the Future Greats. The Future Greats will be going against each other in the ring and in promos. Chris Island will be going up against Shiloh Hill and the Legends talk about how Island has a lot to prove today.

Island and Hill get into the ring and the referee rings the bell for them to talk to each other. Island is happy to see Hill at this point in the competition and he offers Hill a handshake. Hill doesn’t accept and talks about Island’s hometown. Island doesn’t like Hill mentioning his hometown. Hill gets intense and Island mocks Hill’s character. They then go back and forth about being real until the referee breaks it up.

Penina Tuilaepa and Zena Sterling are up next. Bubba Ray tells Sterling that she should turn her back to Tuilaepa at some point during the promo. Sterling tells Tuilaepa that she is all talk. Tuilaepa tells Sterling to shut up and accuses her of being fed lines from Bubba Ray. Sterling chooses silence over talking since she does her talking in the ring. Tuilaepa tries to intimidate her, so Sterling turns her back and walks away. Bubba Ray smack talks Tuilaepa to get inside of her head.

Jasper Troy and BJ Ray are next for the promo battle. Bubba Ray tells BJ Ray that Troy has the edge on him during the match, but BJ should be able to out-talk him. BJ starts off the promo by circling Troy and telling him that he’s a monster. Troy reminds him of Beauty and the Beast, except he doesn’t see a beast. Troy tells BJ that he’s a jackass. Troy targets BJ’s injuries and calls him a two minute segment before a commercial break. BJ says that he feels the hate and jealousy, but it’s jealousy that fuels the hate. BJ points out that Troy is only doing well because Booker T (bleep) rides him. BJ says that he’s doing big things while not being as big as Troy.

Dani Sekelsky and Tyra Mae Steele are next. Sekelsky doesn’t want to be overlooked against Steele again. The Undertaker wants Steele to be aggressive. Sekelsky wants to start, but Steele cuts her off. She doesn’t think Sekelsky can beat her again. Sekelsky says that she’s inexperienced, but still hangs with Steele. Sekelsky says that she has a gold medal, too, but doesn’t use it. Steele gets intense about having two Olympic gold medals and what they mean. Steele walks away from the promo and Sekelsky gets emotional when it’s all over.

It’s time for the matches! They are in front of a live crowd.

Dani Sekelsky (Team Mickie) vs. Tyra Mae Steele (Team Undertaker)

They lock up and Tyra Mae Steele is quick to take Dani Sekelsky down. Steele gator rolls Sekelsky around and then shoves her off. They lock up again and Steele hits a fireman's carry. Sekelsky slips behind and grabs a sleeper. Steele drives Sekelsky into the corner, but succumbs to a side headlock. Sekelsky uses the ropes to hit a headlock takeover. Sekelsky hits the ropes and hits a crossbody for a two count. Sekelsky hits a couple of dropkicks, but Steele swats away a third try.

Steele takes out Sekelsky’s leg and then slams it down on the mat a couple of times. Steele kicks out the leg again and then hits a kneebreaker. Steele locks on a Stretch Muffler, lifting Sekelsky in the process. Sekelsky turns it into a roll up, but Steele kicks out and takes out the leg again. Steele drops down multiple elbows to Sekelsky’s knee and then rolls over Sekelsky into a slam. Steele stretches Sekelsky’s leg and then locks on a calf stretch. 

Sekelsky works out of it and then hits a handstand headscissors. Sekelsky hits a couple of tackles and then climbs to the second rope. She goes for a crossbody, but Steele ducks under. Steele takes out the leg again and goes for a kneebreaker. Sekelsky rolls through and locks on the Hell’s Gate, which forces Steele to tap.

Winner: Dani Sekelsky

In the back, Dani Sekelsky is happy with the match. Tyra Mae Steele is also pleased, but feels bad about mixing up a couple spots. The Undertaker and Mickie James are happy with the progress that Sekelsky and Steele have shown.

BJ Ray (Team Bubba) vs. Jasper Troy (Team Booker)

BJ Ray kicks Jasper Troy in the gut to start. Ray tries to lift Troy up, but cannot. Troy slams Ray down and hits the ropes. Troy goes for a splash, but Ray gets his knees up. Troy shakes it off and sends Ray into the corner. Ray dodges a charging attack and Troy goes through the ropes and into the ring post. Ray then targets Troy’s arm and shoulder. He grabs and cranks Troy’s arm and then tries to slap on an arm stretch. Troy fights out of it quickly and lays in a strike.

Troy tries to charge at Ray, but misses and hits the turnbuckles with his shoulder. Ray is able to work over the arm and drag Troy down. Ray gets a couple of two counts on pin attempts and then tries an arm bar. Troy fights it and is able to lift up Ray. Troy slams Ray down and then hits a clothesline. Troy goes for a slam, but Ray wiggles out. Troy drives Ray into the corner, but eats a boot on a charging attack. Ray charges out of the corner, but eats a Bossman Slam. Troy drags Ray over to the corner and climbs to the second rope. Troy hits a Vader Bomb for the win!

Winner: Jasper Troy

Booker T and Bubba Ray really like what they saw from Jasper Troy.

Zena Sterling (Team Bubba) vs. Penina Tuilaepa (Team Booker)

They lock up and Penina Tuilaepa drives Zena Sterling into the ropes. They shove at each other and then lock up again. Tuilaepa quickly hits a slam and then lifts Sterling up. Sterling wiggles into a roll up attempt, but Tuilaepa doesn’t go down. Sterling is able to grab an arm and force Tuilaepa down. Sterling rolls over and slaps on a double arm stretch, which she transitions into a pin. Tuilaepa kicks out and hits a tackle. 

Tuilaepa hits a slam and then jaws at Sterling. Sterling hits a jawbreaker and then some strikes to the gut. Sterling tries to lift up Tuilaepa, but can’t and Tuilaepa drops down on Sterling for a pin. Sterling kicks out, but is grabbed by Tuilaepa. Tuilaepa hits a sidewalk slam for a two count. Tuilaepa tries to drop an elbow, but Sterling dodges it and then hits a series of tackles. Sterling hits a charging attack in the corner and then slams Tuilaepa for a two count. Sterling goes for a suplex, but Tuilaepa grabs the ropes to block it. Tuilaepa hits a throat strike and then hits a Samoan Drop for the win!

Winner: Penina Tuilaepa

In the back, Booker T congratulates Penina Tuilaepa on the match. Bubba Ray gives Zena Sterling a hug and tells her that she did a good job. Tuilaepa and Sterling embrace and compliment each other.

Shiloh Hill (Team Undertaker) vs. Chris Island (Team Mickie)

They lock up and neither man can gain the advantage, so they break. They lock up again and Shiloh Hill sends Chris Island to the ropes. Hill tries to shoot on Island, but Chris sprawls and then hits a fireman’s carry. Island slaps on an arm bar. Hill works out of it and uses a handful of hair to drive Island to the corner. Island ducks a punch and hits a monkey flip. Island goes for a second monkey flip, but Hill catches him and drops him throat-first on the top rope. Hill hits a running strike for a two count.

Hill works Island over in the corner and then hits a running shoulder tackle. Hill slides to the floor and pulls Island to the apron. Hill clubs down on him and then jumps up to the apron. Hill hits a leg drop on the apron and then rolls back into the ring. Hill hits a basement clothesline for a two count. Hill slaps on a chinlock. Island fights out of it with a belly-to-back suplex, but is sent to the corner. Hill goes for another running attack, but Island moves out of the way. Hill hits the corner hard and Island tries a roll up. Island gets a two count and then hits another belly-to-back suplex. 

Island blocks some Hill punches and hits punches of his own. Island hits a leaping tackle and a slam. Island lifts up Hill and drops him throat-first over the top rope. Island hits a crossbody for a two count. Island drives Hill into the corner and hits a series of shoulder attacks. Island charges into the corner, but eats a knee. Hill butterflies Island’s arms and hits a twisting slam for the win!

Winner: Shiloh Hill

In the back, Shiloh Hill is all smiles. The Undertaker congratulates him on the match. Chris Island also gets a congratulations from The Undertaker. Mickie James likes the chemistry between Hill and Island.

It’s time to award the points for the matches! The women are up first. Booker T picks Zena Sterling. The Undertaker picks Tyra Mae Steele. Mickie James picks Dani Sekelsky. Bubba Ray picks Zena Sterling since she helped Penina Tuilaepa through the match. Therefore, Zena Sterling gets the point!

The men are up next. Booker T picks Jasper Troy. The Undertaker gives Troy respect, but picks Shiloh Hill. Booker T and The Undertaker go back and forth on the integrity of the game after picking their own Future Greats. Mickie James asks Jasper Troy and BJ Ray if they think they had a good match. Troy says that he did what he could. Bubba Ray rips into Troy for tearing BJ Ray down in front of people. Mickie James ends up picking Chris Island. Bubba Ray gets up and stands in front of Jasper Troy. He tells Troy that he knows Troy wants it more than anyone else, but just didn’t have a good enough match tonight. Bubba Ray gives credit to Chris Island and Shiloh Hill and then picks Hill. Therefore, Shiloh Hill gets the point!

Next week, the Legend with the most points will win the LFG Championship.

It’s now time to pick who advances to the finals!

Dani Sekelsky and Tyra Mae Steele are up first. Booker T picks Steele to advance. The Undertaker picks Steele to advance. Mickie James picks Sekelsky to advance. Bubba Ray picks Steele to advance, which confirms Steele advancing to the finals.

BJ Ray and Jasper Troy are up next. Booker T picks Troy to advance. The Undertaker picks Troy to advance. Mickie James picks Troy to advance. Bubba Ray picks Troy to advance with a smile on his face. Troy sweeps BJ and advances to the finals.

BJ Ray wants to say something to the Legends. He thanks Mickie for everything. BJ says that The Undertaker was the only coach to ask him about his shoulder off camera. He says that Booker T is blinded by his personal bias. BJ calls Bubba Ray the worst coach of all time and then threatens him if Bubba ever touches him again. Bubba and BJ have mocking words as BJ walks away.

Penina Tuilaepa and Zena Sterling are next. Bubba Ray picks Sterling to advance. Mickie James picks Sterling to advance. The Undertaker picks Sterling to advance. Booker T congratulates Sterling on advancing. Sterling officially advances to the finals.

Chris Island and Shiloh Hill are the last pair. Bubba Ray picks Hill to advance. The Undertaker picks Hill to advance. Mickie James gets emotional as she picks Hill to advance because he is most ready. Booker T picks Hill to advance. Hill sweeps Island and advances to the finals.

The finals are set: Jasper Troy (Team Booker) vs. Shiloh Hill (Team Undertaker) and Zena Sterling (Team Bubba) vs. Tyra Mae Steele (Team Undertaker). 

Next week - the winners will be crowned on the finale at Madison Square Garden!
