Spotlight Match: JGeorge vs Erik Chacha
If this match has a story, it’s how mad JGeorge is that the crowd hates him. Chacha getting the crowd hyped chanting “cha” for him but JGeorge is just fired up by the perceived disrespect…and of course, the actual disrespect. Pretty hard hitting back and forth contest, JGeorge puts Chacha down with a scissor kick for the three!
Match 1: Angel Ortiz vs DJ Powers
The crowd reminds DJ that he’s a Mooiiiiiiist Boy. He hates it. It’s worth noting that this is a really cool step up in competition for Powers, going against someone who has been with Beyond since the start. Powers being aggressive, raking the eyes and taking cheap shots. Ortiz hits some of the classics…but a lot of this is Powers on top. Crowd fires up hard for the Funky Monkey’s comeback! Sitout bomb for two! Orton powerslam! DJ hits a claymore and Frogsplash for two! Hot finishing sequence that DJ spoils by raking the eyes again…he rolls up Ortiz and locks the legs for the three. BOOOOOOOO!!!
Match 2: Sean Vegan Keegan vs Milo Mirra (Dave’s Hot Chicken Match)
Keegan is NOT HAPPY being put in the chicken match. I don’t know if there are special rules to this apart from getting the crowd to chant for eating chicken a lot. Despite the silly premise, this is a very solid match. Mirra grabs the pogo and launches himself into the ring with a crossbody body for the win. We all chant for chicken. This was stupid and delightful and also a good match.
Match 3: Discovery Gauntlet - Jose Zamora vs Mookie Summers
It’s baaaaaack! You know the rules! You gotta win it to stay in it. We know Zamora. He has his stupid tripod and camera and has himself mic’d up. Mookie is here to make us happy and PUT IN THAT WORK. I like a solid babyface catch phrase! Zamora is a scumbag, trying to pretend like he doesn’t understand English to ignore the ref’s protests (despite being part of a pre match interview). Mookie definitely getting beat down for a lot of this and the crowd is clearly irritated with Zamora. Summers gets a moment to shine but Zamora rebounds off the ropes with a corkscrew Superman punch to the temple that puts Mookie to sleep for the three. Boooooo!
Match 4: Rickey Shane Page vs CPA
Another Beyond original joins us tonight and maybe he’s going to make CPA dig into that well of aggression he was trying to develop a couple of years ago. Maybe not! CPA wants to do the shirt gimmick but RSP just won’t allow it. After several attempts, the shirt comes off but CPA absorbs a lot of damage getting there. All of the tax man’s big mover get met with a heavy RSP boot to the head. CPA finally hits the 1099. He tries to crunch the numbers but can’t get Rickey up! Huge toss! Crashing vertical suplex. CPA crunches the nUmbers!!!!! Razor thin kickout! CPA fights RSP to the corner but he gets press slammed to the mat off the top! Frog splash for the three! RSP peels CPA off the canvas to tell you “You are the funniest wrestler…but don’t EVER let anyone tell you that you aren’t a Bada**”. Hell yeah.
Match 5: Pedro Dones & Brett Mettro vs Rain Conway & Jay Tunis
Conway & Tunis try to attack Dones pre-match but Mettro, in full Ultimate Warrior mode, runs down to make the save! When the match actually starts, Dones is taking most of the heat. After a VERY long beatdown, Mettro gets the hot tag and goes on the path of destruction. Matteo tags Dones in wayyyy too soon…he gets rammed into Mettro….they set up Dones for the kill but Dones rams Tunis off the top and hits a shoulder breaker on Raine for the win.
Anthony Greene is out here! He laments the fact that Swipe Right is never in the building when they are. So next week…AG and Channing Thomas are fighting Swipe Right…and it doesn’t even have to be for the titles.
Match 6: Miracle Ones (Dustin Waller, Kylon King & Ichiban) vs Johnny Medina, Jeremy LaCroix and Angelo Reyes
This match was supposed to be against the Residency but they aren’t here. Props to this squad for stepping up against Open’s most decorated tandem…but they are gonna die. They didn’t even get an entrance. The death is quick. Miracle Ones hit a great triple team…wheelbarrow cutter into a destroyer? Wild. This was a slaughter.
Dustin on the mic. None of them are thrilled that Bryce Donovan is the Open champ…but Ichiban is the current #1 contender! And him and Kylon…they have his back! And this Monday in Cranston?…it’s a 6-man tag against Vinny Scalise, Jariel Rivera and BRYCE DONOVAN!
Main Event: Gabby Forza vs Kylie Alexa
I wanted to see Kylie again and I am stoked to see this excellent fight from last week run back…especially in the true main event slot! Gabby is out here trying to give away party hats for Beyond’s birthday and Kylie wants NOTHING TO DO WITH THAT. Gabby punishes her for her lack of enthusiasm over hats. Big tosses from post to post! Giant swing! Alexa crying that she’s dizzy and this is illegal. Kylie gets ahold of Gabbys arm and viciously attacks it with elbows, wrenching it on the steel ropes. Alexa punishing our homie and taunting the crowd at the same time. Boooooo! Kylie landing stiff kicks into the underarm. Jesus. She is in full control here. Kylie is just merciless, pulling at her hair, taking out her knees. Gabby tries for a press slam but that arm just gives out. Gabby trips Kylie into the ropes…the press slam connects this time! The arm is clearly hurting but she hits an Oklahoma stampede for a near fall! Vader bomb can’t get it done either as we hit the ten minute mark! Gabby with a modified jackhammer but she really can’t hold Kylie right. Boot from Alexa and a suplex into the suplex! Kylie shocked when a double stomp can’t get the three. Gabby raging up and tossing Kylie into the buckles…she tries to rip Kylie out of the corner…the buckle flies off! Gabby comes running and Kylie trips her into the exposed buckle and stacks Gnomie for the three! Awesome match. Loved it.
Gabby is clearly distraught but the fact remains they are now 1:1 over the last two weeks. clearly….this is happening again. Gabby grabs the mic and says she will be back and she WILL beat Kylie again.
