Around the Ring with Gia Miller
This week’s guest on Around the Ring is Nic Nemeth. Nemeth wants to know if anyone ever asks Gia Miller about herself on the show. Miller says that Ryan Nemeth was very nice to her on the show. Miller talks about going to Nemeth’s comedy show in Las Vegas. Nemeth jokes around about Miller feeling obligated to go, but Miller says that she genuinely had a great time. Nemeth talks about how hard stand up comedy is and how comedians help each other just like wrestlers help each other. Nemeth also talks about how much work goes into writing jokes. They both talk about finding one’s voice and rhythm in comedy, wrestling, and doing commentary.
In Case You Missed It
The issues between Trick Williams and Joe Hendry are recapped. The opening segment from last night’s iMPACT! is shown. Here is my write up of it from the TV Report:
Trick Williams makes his way to the ring flanked by security. Williams comes out cocky and talks about his two women - Lexus and Mercedes. Once that’s out of the way, Williams is on iMPACT! for one reason and one reason only. He took out the golden goose of TNA, Joe Hendry. The fans can boo him all they want to, but Hendry tried to embarrass. Therefore, Williams is in TNA to embarrass Hendry on his own show. Hendry showed up to NXT and wanted to be everyone’s friend. Williams doesn’t want to be liked - he wants to be respected. Hendry can be a politician, but Williams is going to take over his fans and brand.
Williams said Hendry’s name quite a bit, so out comes Joe Hendry. Hendry is stopped by security on his way to the ring, but he lays them out and goes after Williams in the ring. They exchange strikes until security breaks them up. Hendry breaks free and goes after Williams again. Williams rolls out of the ring after taking some shots and security holds Hendry back in the ring. Hendry hits a Standing Ovation on one of the security guards as Williams makes his way up the ramp while staring Hendry down.
Tom Hannifan and Matthew Rehwoldt are on commentary for the main event.
On his way to the ring, Joe Alonzo has a microphone. He wants to know how the losers in Las Vegas are feeling. He’d be mad, too, if he blew away his entire welfare check on the slots. They should be happy to see the talented Joe Alonzo. He gets it, though - if he weren’t Joe Alonzo, he’d hate him, too.
Trey Miguel with Bobby Johnson and Co. vs. Joe Alonzo
Bobby Johnson is an Ink Master winner.
Trey Miguel offers a handshake, but Joe Alonzo spits into his hand. They go to lock up, but Alonzo turns and grabs an arm bar. Alonzo cranks the arm, but Miguel spins out of it and hits an arm drag. Alonzo rolls to the floor. Miguel high fives Bobby Johnson, which allows Alonzo to attack from behind. Alonzo hits a forearm and then Miguel is sent to the ropes. Miguel holds on and hits a flurry of strikes and a dropkick. Miguel is lifted to the apron. He hits a kick and climbs to the top rope. Alonzo moves out of the way of a high risk move and sends Miguel through the turnbuckles into the ring post. Alonzo makes the pin and puts his feet on the ropes, but Miguel kicks out.
Alonzo hits a big lariat for a two count. Alonzo stomps on Miguel in the corner, but Miguel starts to fight back. Alonzo cuts it off and sends Miguel into the corner. Alonzo hits a charging kick in the corner and then a belly-to-back suplex for a two count. Alonzo spins on Miguel’s face and then slaps on a chinlock. Miguel fights out of it and tries a handspring move, but Alonzo cuts him off with a dropkick. Miguel tries a small package, but Alonzo kicks out.
Miguel hits an enzuigiri and both men are slow to get up. Miguel rolls to the apron and drives Alonzo’s head into the top turnbuckle. Miguel climbs to the top rope and hits a missile dropkick. Miguel hits a charging uppercut in the corner and a kick. Miguel hits a springboard moonsault for a two count. Alonzo tries a roll up, but Miguel kicks out. Alonzo hits a springboard double axe handle for a two count.
Alonzo rolls to the floor and looks under the ring. Alonzo grabs a chair and has words with Bobby Johnson. Johnson backs Alonzo up, who falls over one of Johnson’s friends. Miguel hits a dive and rolls Alonzo back into the ring. Miguel climbs to the top rope and hits a Meteora for the win!
Winner: Trey Miguel
